  • This is the brand new 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat! Let's check it out!
    Today we take a look at the brand new US spec 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat. This is a highly spec'd Ranger with a ton of options!
    The 2.3L 4 cylinder EcoBoost engine packs a surprising punch and was excellent to drive. It had more than enough power to get up and go, which is a must in any truck. Smooth power delivery from the twin scroll turbo and 10 speed automatic transmission makes the 2019 Ford Ranger drive very smooth and responsive.
    The exterior style of the new 2019 Ford Ranger looks great! Sleek and muscular lines give it a bold look that falls nicely in the 2019 Ford line up of vehicles. The interior had nice leather accents and quality feeling components. Very easy to use with minimal buttons, touch screen infotainment screen and nice amenities.
    This Lariat has a lot of options as well, like 360 parking sensors, back up camera, Bang & Olufson audio system, Trailer Assist, Terrain Select, Trail Control, Metal Bed Liner, Heated Leather Seats, LED lights and much more!
    Having the EcoBoost engine actually produces class leading engine torque and outstanding towing capacities of 7,500 pounds!
    I was very impressed with the smooth on road capabilities with the new 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat. It was comfortable on the street with a soft suspension, had a tight turning radius and was very nice for a daily driver.
    The off road capabilities of the 2019 Ranger are definitely there. The Trail Control in the 2019 Ford Ranger is basically a cruise control system for off-roading. It will monitor the brakes and acceleration from 0-20 mph and keep the vehicle going one speed no matter the terrain. You can set it to 1mph, and the truck will slowly crawl over any off-road obstacle.
    The new Ranger also features various terrain selections for even more capabilities. The FX-4 Package is something to add when buying the new 2019 Ford Ranger since it gives you the under vehicle skid plates, 4x4 system, Trail Control, Terrain Select, Locking Rear Differential and upgraded shocks!
    I definitely enjoyed driving the new 2019 Ford Ranger and was impressed with what it has to offer. If you are looking for a new Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon or Honda Ridgeline. Definitely put the new Ranger on your list! It was great!
    Huge thank you to Mooresville Ford! They have a huge selection of the brand new Ford line up!

      xBMacLeod I think the reason for that is that the Ranger is the only Ford truck available in Europe, so it hat to be adjusted to fulfill the European people's expectations in both a work truck and an everyday SUV-like vehicle.

    In Asia pacific, Philippines in particular, a top of the line Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 10 spd-AT w/ 2.0L bi-turbo diesel having 213hp and 500n-m cost around $ 33.5K if converted from Peso. It has the same features and tech except for the rear disc brakes and single leaf spring in the Lariat.

    You guys complain about price remember this is the top of the line vehicle. Pricing is definitely comparable to other trucks with same options. They have several combinations so you can order what works for you. I ordered a 4x2 with plenty of option for less than 33k. Runs great, more power than I expected and with a hwy mpg of 26 I think it’s worth the money.

    I test drove the Tacoma and hated the lack of leg room and power. Just test drove the ranger and liked the interior and had plenty of leg room. It was stickered for $40,600. There wasn't much leg room in back with the front seat all the way back. Overall this is a nice truck. Definitely nicer than the Tacoma.

  • @scottfurlong5475
    @scottfurlong5475 5 років тому +23

    I test drove the Tacoma and just 2 days ago, I drove this new Ranger and I would take the Ranger in a heartbeat. I really wanted a Tacoma for its known build quality and retained value but it's just not as good as everyone thinks. I kept hitting my head on the ceiling and it's weird to sit on the floor while doing it. The engine is on the noisy side when merging into highway traffic and the transmission was reluctant to downshift until you really got into the pedal. The rear seat movements of flipping, folding and headrest removal is BS. The Tacoma is a nice truck but it's nowhere as good as it should be.
    The Ranger was very eager to move and had a very comfortable ride and interior. Plenty of headroom and elbow space. The engine and transmission are supremely calibrated and I just couldn't get over how quick the ranger picked up speed without the need to downshift much at all. The Ranger will hold my quad and some fuel cans were as the Tacoma would be maxed out.
    I am just not going to give up a great engine/transmission pkg, ride quality, comfort and interior ergonomics for the quality and resale value of a Tacoma.

    • @dannylynch4512
      @dannylynch4512 5 років тому +5

      Pretty much my take on this too. I test drove all of them and the toyota was the worst of the bunch. The Frontier was comfortable and had plenty of get up and go with the V6 but lacking in everything else. The GM twins are nice. I really didn't care for the dash layout but the rest was pretty good.
      The Ranger was the last I checked out and to me is the best of the bunch.
      Going to wait a bit until the 2020 model year though for some incentives to come along. I am also praying the push button start gets added to the XLT for 2020.

    All in all, more people are buying trucks. People want nicer trucks. I'm a full size truck guy, however my son isn't as tall so the midsize taco worked for him. I'm glad there is an ever increasing number of competition. This has lead to Toyota adding power seats to the 2020 Tacoma. Competition is good for a of us. I'm just a person who found value in the Toyota trucks over domestic. No worries either way. Keep up with the car reviews.

Missing some options you get on GM and Toyota. Ford had a few years selling this truck in other countries to get it right before bringing it here. I think they might have rushed it. Still some work to do for the money they're asking.

      Yep. The bundles are a hot mess. If you want popular options they make you buy a fully padded lariat. One only has to spend 15 minutes on the build it site to get pretty frustrated. In short, the Ranger is priced 5K-10K over the competition with similar options. And they nickel and dime. The 40K XLT still looks pretty plain to me with the cloth seats and shitty sony strereo.

    Im probably one of the first to buy one of these...not happy with the one I bought
    the brakes had a bad "shimmy" when you applied the brakes. one or more (not given the best info) rotors had to be turned/trued. Most of the shimmy gone, but I still feel some. At take off you can feel a "shudder", vibration (whatever), but it balances out after you get going. The back seat backrest wont latch so it flops around some when you apply the brakes. The seats are embarrassing, but I work at a plant that manufactures seats for the automotive industry so I am picky. These seats, nor most I have seen in videos and pictures would not make it out of our plant. The foam doesnt fill out the leather well, at work we tried to massage it into place but it is still baggy, and wrinkled looking.
    I dont really use lane departure, I find it annoying, but compared to my last truck it doesnt alert you much. Very slight notice in the steering wheel. My last truck you could feel it in the wheel, and the seat would rumble.
    on the positive side, it looks awesome! For a small truck it rides well, and I am coming out of full sized pick ups, so that is saying a lot. Handles very well, and that little 4 banger will pick the truck up and move it quick. For the price I think they could have done more inside. Maybe more soft touch on the doors? Aside from that and the seats I love the interior of my Lariat. The adaptive cruise control rocks. I use cruise control a lot, and get annoyed when I have to come out of it for traffic. This thing takes care of that. Even switched lanes to much slower traffic to see what it would do. It keeps distance, and will slow you down quickly lol.
    I should note here that I did drive 2 new Rangers. the first one was an XLT, and had none of the problems listed above. The seats were cloth and had good fit. I also drove everything else in its class because I wanted to get out of full sized pick ups. In my opinion, nothing compared to the Ranger (well, at least the first Ranger I drove lol)

      @BrosFOURRSpeed  3 роки тому +1

      Basically it's the load transfer of a vehicle towards the outside of a turn. When a vehicle is fitted with a suspension package, it works to keep the wheels or tracks in contact with the road, providing grip for the driver of the vehicle to control its direction. You feel more body roll in trucks and SUV's and less in sportscars.

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 5 років тому +2

      The MSRP's are really wacked on the XLT/Lariat trims. The last day I was looking at trucks I saw two loaded Rangers at Power Ford here in Albuquerque. One was a 38K XLT FX4 for 38K and the other a Lariat for 45K. Both did not have any spray bed liners. And the dealer also wanted 5K over MSRP (addendum). I told the manager you guys are Mad, nuts etc..Then he immediately dropped the price to MSRP. I said its still 5K over priced to the competition. Went to Nissan dealer and bought fully loaded Pro 4X Frontier with premium package that has as much gear as the Lariat and comes with spray bed liner and sunroof standard. Plus IMO, the VQ40 24 valve DOHC is still the beast of the motor in the segment. And it will run 300K miles as well. And I got that out the door for 35K. But you can also get a loaded Taco offroad for under 40K. Same goes for a Colorado Z71. Ford is busy smoking crack these days. Once they fill the supply line these things will be a hard sell. Right now they have enough morons with pent up demand that will over pay. But that is not going to last. You better believe it.

    • @fordman2698

      Yes but the Tacoma doesn't even have a leather option, and the seats are fucking uncomfortable. That is the reason I don't like to ride with my friend when his fiance is riding to and from college with us, because the back seat is hard for a 2013 truck. My ass was a little sore after sitting on that seat for four hours in a storm. It also can't pull anything; I believe the Colorado/Canyon can tow a small horse trailer, my friend's Tacoma can't tow anything.

      Especially when loaded Pro 4X Frontier's go for 35K and loaded Colorado Z71's and offroad tacos can be had for under 40K. Really getting old with many comments from Ford fan boys that the Ranger is competitively priced. Its not. After some exhaustive research and test driving all the mid sizer's and negotiating prices prices with many dealerships I can honestly say that the Ranger will cost the buyer on average of 5K to 10K more on the higher trim mid size trucks. Ford has punched a hole through the 40K price mark which is not sustainable moving forward. Only with the early capacity issues, low inventories and pent up demand from the Ford Fan boys with pent up demand can they expect MSRP early on. As the supply line fills these things will rot on the lots at MSRP. No they have not lost their minds. They have gone completely mad lol.
