HAPPY NEW YEAR ..I’d love to know what projects you’d like to see more of as we move into 2022. And as always, let me know where you are watching from. All the best. Jack.
Happy New Year Jack
You are the favorite 😍
The hammer is mine and coming to live with me in, sunny/rainy at times, Southern California. Orange County is the home I lay my dome.-G
I like hidden containers like this!
Love the ones that show interesting wood grain, golden colored wood. I like the resin too, if the colors are ones i like (blues and greens), but like the all-wood ones best! Would love to see some things made out of darker reddish wood and/or stained reddish. I love the golden colored wood/stain, as i said, but would like to see some reddish wooden pieces too! Also like when there is a dark/lite contrast, be it two kinds of wood, or resin and wood...

I don't know why I like this person, presents shows with a "straight to the point" principle, seems to respect the time of other people who are watching. Indeed, there are other shows that are watched between 30 minutes to 1 hour, only for 1 product process. There is also babbling throughout the over 1 hour video. Thank you Jack Mack, very educational as well as entertaining, greetings from Indonesia where exotic wood paradise is. (Your friend, Gabby)
Hi Jack, i am 14 jears old and i always want to see your projects because my hobby is to woodturn too, i did some of your projects for example the goblet with the twist. I love your content, keep doing that. Happy new year from Germany
How did your goblet with a twist turn out? I am always here if you have any questions buddy! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@JackMackWoodturning It turned out very well, i made it from a peace of spruce. I got one question: what lathe do you have?
One more question: can i write my questions also here in the future? I want to write them where you don't miss 'em
@Richie - I think it is WONDERFUL that you are getting into this at a young age. Having art in one's life is a great way to expand imagination, learn self determination, develop one's own style, and have an outlet for stress.
Watch as many vids as you can, especially ones where the person is explaining what they are doing, even if their style isn't something you'd go for. The more you STUDY HOW things are done and practice, practice, practice, them until your hands can 'automatically do them, the more skills you will have in your 'tool box'. The more skills you have which you can do proficiently, the easier it will be for you to execute any design your mind can come up with. For me, that is the single most important thing.
I paint and a number of other things. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to have an idea, but not be able to execute it. I'm mostly self taught. My parents didn't think art was important at all, so I got no support. This was before the internet so I had no one to watch and learn from (except for cooking, TG). LOL when I was 8 I started to go to the art store and buy clay. I did everything I could with what I had and I did it over & over & over.
When I got older I got a chance to go to school for graphic design. I LOVED IT.
Do this as full on as you can (don't sacrifice your homework) to see how you feel about it. Thank your parents A LOT for their support. That will mean a lot to them and the more invested they will be in supporting you.
[And I hope I don't get boo'd here - but check out other wood skills too, like cabinetry or furniture. Really give yourself lots of options when you get older. Who knows, maybe you will come up with a style, or way of doing something no one else has!!! (or maybe even 2 or 3) You have my support, forealz]
@Rev'dUpArtist thanks for your tipps, i really appreciate that. Just want to point out that i'm woodturning since at least 8 years so i have developed a pretty good feelig of wood and how it's done, but you can never learn enough.
I like the secret candy stash ball with stand/lid!
Mr. Jack Mack.... how does one pick a favorite from all of your artistic excellence? I'm in awe every time I get mesmerized by your works of beautifully thought out art pieces that I find would be most difficult to put a price on them. I just cannot pick just one favorite from your sculptures. They're all beautiful masterpieces in my eyes, and mind. I hope and pray that you never stop using your God given talents. Bravo Mr. Jack Mack, BRAVO!! And thank you kindly for sharing these with me, and everyone else watching you. 😊Grin.
After I press play I hit the like button.
Impossible not to.
I love your channel. I'm a global citizen and watch it from wherever I happen to be. I don't turn wood, and I know absolutely nothing about it, but your videos are mesmerizing and relaxing. It doesn't matter what you're making, I'm simply amazed by the art of turning a piece of log or a block of wood into something beautiful. I can't imagine where that vision comes from. My favorite part is at the end where you oil the piece and bring out the grain - it's like unveiling a portrait and it makes my heart leap! Thanks for posting these videos.
Thank you for the lovely comment. I hope I continue to bring you joy with my future videos. Where are you heading on your next travels upon this rock?
You do fantastic work. I've been watching you for a year or so. Your spiral reminded me of one my Dad made. I was in my Grandparents attic and found two of Dad's H.S. projects. (1942-1943ish). One was the spiral and one was a squared rectangle with four open windows and a free floating ball inside. Both were made with hand tools. They were both done with no flaws. He also made an engraved silver belt buckle. I still have that. Not sure which of my siblings have the wood carvings. A talented person like you makes it look so easy. AND IT IS NOT EASY!❤❤
Thanks a lot M. Have you done much woodwork yourself?
@@JackMackWoodturning No, I don't do "woodturning" but I love watching it done. You make it look so easy, but it isn't. At 74, I'm still pretty good with a screwdriver and screws or a hammer and nails. I used to work (in the office)of a smallish industrial blacksmith shop. Our biggest hammer was a 10,000 pound per sq in. power hammer. Sometimes after work a bunch of artistic blacksmiths would show up to "play around". Quite often I would go watch. I even picked up a 6# hand hammer and drew-out a 1/2" round steel rod ending up with a paper towel holder with leaves winding down. Just the owner and I were there that night . After 32 years, I still have that. I love and can appreciate ANY handicraft. You are fantastic!!!!!! Thanks, Maggie
Favourite was when you turned wood into art... and the bowling ball into a bowl.
John
Thanks John 👍🏻
I love that one that looks like aflower sitting on a spring. Beautiful dish. Unique! But I can't pick just one favorite yet.
Hands down....the bowling ball!!!
All these projects are absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Thanks Dot. Much appreciated. Which one was your fave though?
@@JackMackWoodturning All of them. I am fascinated by all you can do with your projects!
Thank you
That sweets stash is very clever love it. Now on to the bowling ball I watch.
No one has found my stash yet!
The Bowling ball is gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This old lady is now a sub.
Love wood.
The texture, patterns, colours.
You bring it all to life ♥️
The candy ball with the triangular base as the cap. Great for hiding stuff and just pretty to look at. 👍🏻
Thanks M. Much appreciated. Anything you would like to see on channel in new year?
My favorite is the bowling ball bowl
Each one has something special about it. I love the inlay on the mallet handle, and the burl top of the little round bowl. And the spiral carving was really interesting to watch, so perfect. And you took advantage of the natural staining of the large vase at the end.
I do have a least favorite, lol, not what you asked, but what's the deal with spikey vase?
The red and blue resin vase while beautifully done I think a black metallic resin instead would have been gorgeous.
Love the wood @ 25:32- 27:00
but my favorite is the round sphere candy holder, I want that.
Oooh.. I love them all. I do like anything quirky…but then again I love to see the bowls highlighting the beautiful wood. Thanks for asking.
No problem M, thanks for watching. Anything you would like to see in the New Year on the channel? 😊😉
Sir, it was a really good moment to wash your work. the way you have passed from one to the other of those projects was so refreshing from other videos. I have watched it whit a very much satisfaction. And to your question, I liked every one of them. Very well done.
That´s when phantasy and knowledge come together.
Nice one H. What was your favourite?
@@JackMackWoodturning I see only favourits
What I liked I order
: #1- super cool articulated vase (last project)
; #2 - stacked leather mallet
, #3 - 2 tone box (project 2),
#4 - stash sphere
Thanks L. Really interesting to hear peoples fave’s. It would seem everyone is different. Do you have anything you would like to see on the channel this year?
Red & Blue are my two favorite colors! So beautiful together.
OMG the vase is so beautiful 😀❤️🌷⚱️
Hi Jack, I'm from Australia and I like them all but the one that stands out the most for me is the spiked cherry. I love it 👍😉
Ahhh I favourite of mine too. Would love to know what you’d like to see more of ( or less of) in the coming year
😊👍🏻
You are an artist thanks for sharing this arte. 👏🇵🇹
I have to say, I have very high respect for you wood carvers. Sooooo talented.
I don't know if I could pick a favorite. You always do such a great job. I always enjoy all of your projects. The bowling ball was thr most unique though. Great job overall.
Nice one Bex. Any video’s you would like to see this year?
I'm generally not a big fan of the use of colored resin, but this time it worked out to look very nice. After seeing you make the bowl I would have never thought it was made from a bowling ball.
I think you’ll like my latest video:
ua-cam.com/video/OcVLfBuQrAc/v-deo.html
Are you kidding?! All of them!👍
😆 thanks
When you mounted that huge log at the end, I thought you'd end up with a single drum stick 🙂
All kidding aside, these are all amazing. The product of great skill and creativity. Thanks for sharing!
hello friends greetings healthy and successful always. Thank you for sharing knowledge and always faithfully watching your latest stuff.
Nice one Mas. Any video’s you want to see this year on the channel?
Such talent and creativity!! The pronged vase is my favorite but they’re all AMAZING!
The secret sphere is my favorit 👍
Thank you. Is there anything you would like to see more of in 2022 ?
@@JackMackWoodturning I only have one question if you are free. Have you ever turned a lilac wood? Somebody told me the lilac's dust is toxic. Do you know something for this? Thank you.
Mmmmm....this is hard! Okay, my #1 favorite is Roots & Resin Vase (@ 23:24); #2 is Stash Sphere (min. 31:13) #3 is a tie -- Bowls Ball Box (@ min.7:57) and the Beaded Vase (min. 39:52). No...wait...my favorite is...hold on...NO...actually, my favorite is....really it's hard to say...
In truth, though, my TOP TOP FAVORITE is from a separate video: the colored paper in resin that you sculpted into a tear-drop shape--"Wood turning: Never Been Done Before." I'd love to own that one.
Amazing work..., full inspiration.
Which was your fave?
I like the wood mallet the best.
Me to G! I use it every day! 👍🏻😊
Ok, I said earlier I have 2 favorites. I spoke too soon. I love the tall vase at the end as well. Great work. Cheers
Hi Jack! Impossible to make a preference...all ones are masterpieces and videos are perfectly realized! Stay safe and keep on sharing al 2022, please! Wish you a happy new year from Italy!
Thank you. Happy new year to you and yours. I’d really love to know what kind of thing you’d like to see more of ( or less of) all the best for 2022 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@JackMackWoodturning weew
Bowling ball bowl is my favourite
my favorite piece is the bowling ball ball. I also love the beaded vase.
The mallet was by far my favorite. Probably the most unique one I've seen so far. Would really like to see more options of mallets from a lathe. Illinois, USA
Thanks Joel. Iv got a couple mallet ideas that I’m planning to make this year. Hopefully you’ll like them too. Thanks for the feedback.
All are fantastically beautiful
Wow, just, WOW!!!!
UK
Love the red and blue root ball hollow form
Thanks. I like that one too
Wow Sir absolutely fantastic all of them. But the candy dish very very clever!!! Thanks for getting me hooked on your work. I love it.
Hi Jack, I have been watching your channel for a while now and I have enjoyed all your turnings. It is very hard to say I like one over the other, so just keep doing what you are doing and I for one will keep watching. I live in the U.S. in the state of Pennsylvania. Happy turning and Happy New Year.
Thank you for the kind words James. Really appreciate you watching and very glad your enjoying them so much.
Hope the new year is good to you and yours.
Still trying to work out how you do these strange emoji’s?
Spectacular. All of them.
I have 2 favorites. The blue and red resin vase, and bowling ball bowl. Gorgeous on both accounts. Cheers
Love from India
❤️
I can't choose a favorite piece, but I have to say the acorn head posts bc that's what my bed has. Now my hands are cramped and tied from watching you work.
Bonsoir Jack Mack, je te remercie de faire partager ton immense talent, je trouve qu' il serai encore plus grand avec un petit peu plus de pédagogie.
ci à toi. Un Français qui te suit avec plaisir.
All are so beautiful 😍 🤩 👌
I guess I spoke too soon, that beaded vase at the end is great!
Can’t decide which I like the best because I love them all Jack.
Well I guess that’s a win for me jack 😉
Thank you !
I’d love to know what you’d like to se more of or less of in 2022 😊👍🏻
the secret globe candy jar is amazing!
Ah. My favorite is the vase with all the spikes. Truly masterful! I still think it would look great filled with pinecones.😉
Thanks Rebecca. Iv got a few ideas to elaborate on that style of vase. Il try to get some of them done this year. Il try to fill it with pine cones and get a photo up on instagram 😊
Happy new year.. all the best to you and yours 😊
I don't think I could possibly choose a favorite. But the first and last were way up there!!!
Nice one Peg. Thanks for watching 👍🏻😊
You are asking the impossible. All are favourites! Best wishes for 2022 from Down Under!
How you going J? Anything you want to see in a video this year? 😊👍🏻😉
Hidden candy sphere is my favorite.
Nice one! I think I might be in agreement 😊👍🏻
The red/blue vase is awesome..
Thanks Clark. Much appreciated buddy. Anything you would like to see more of this year?
@@JackMackWoodturning The Yew Wood pieces are amazing. I'm also hoping the Store Front opens soon. I'd like to purchase a piece for display in my home..
I was a fine arts major. There was an open debate about what constituted fine art and craft - with the attitude being that fine art was better than craft. For me, your skill with wood and the creative vision that inspires your pieces effectively erases that division. Every single piece in this video is a beautiful work of art.
Lover the large vase
Thanks
The first one surprised me the most. So the mallet is a favorite but I also liked the wooden glas/cub. Epic video, thanks for sharing your work.
Thanks WS. Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻😊
All are my favorite, what I'd like to see is some off center or off set wood turning.
I have been meaning to experiment. Watch this space 😊👌🏻
Omg I really liked the globe candy dish. I found it beautiful and definitely a conversation piece. Functional art
The bowling ball bowl looks awesome 👍
Thanks Ed. Is that your fave?
What wonderful projects you have completed in 2021
Thanks Glen. Anything you would like to see me create this year?
The epoxy vase!
The purple one?
you have exploded my brain cells, INCREDIBLE simply INCREDIBLE. To ask for a favorite is cruel and just too hard, but my mum passed away a few years back and LOVED her outdoor bowls, so for that reason alone her old bowls could've been turned into her urn had I known it was possible. You are amazing!!!!
Some of the wood you start with is crazy. I would have never thought to try that. Now I am, and hope I don't get thumped n the head. 😁
Great work.
Gotta love the spirals!
Thanks April, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻😊😉
This is name of "talent"
Thanks PS. Glad you enjoyed it. Which was your favourite?
I cannot choose I like them all, stay safe, John
You to John. All the best for the new year
seems as me asking you 'which of your children is your favourite?' I think they all have their unique personality, and beauty :) thanks Jack, Beautiful work as always, as I'm getting accustomed to, with you!
WOW! Nice work! I love watching what comes next! How you see what you see! Love it💚🐾🤓
I’m surprised you didn’t outright break a tool on the bowling ball. A lot of bowling balls, especially the professional ones, have a big weight in the middle, and hitting that at lathe speed would be devastating for any tool, and potentially dangerous for the person holding it.
I like the beautiful base that you made from a gnarly piece of wood and coloured resin.
Love the mallet, and the spiral-stem goblet is wicked cool.
Thanks P. Glad you enjoyed it buddy 😊👍🏻
Have been turning for almost 4 years now, and I use your skills as inspiration. I suppose you are nit ahead of me :)
I’m glad I can inspire you. Yeah iv been going a little longer, quite a bit longer 😆
But iv also been a professional wood turner for most of those years and spend upto 60 hours per week at the lathe.
Thanks for watching.. which one was your fave ?
@@JackMackWoodturning I would say nnumber 2, the 2-clloured hollow ball. Because og its putiry in design.
Hey Jack, I ❤️ them all but my absolute favorite is the spiral ones.
Love the mallet ❤️👍
Thanks man. Anything you would like to see more of in the new year?
So creative! Always fun to see what you’ll think of next!
Love your videos always interesting to see what you will make. Greetings from Long Island New York 😎
Much love from the UK Maddy! 😊👍🏻
Thank you for this Jack, I could feel every move you made!
I like the sphere with the candy the best, but all of them are exceptional
İnanılmaz güzellikte eserler yapmışsınız. Tebrik ederim.
Thanks man. Which one is your favourite?
...favorite???...they're all unique and beautiful pieces...I think my favorite is watching your expertise and execution in producing these wonderful works of art...👍
Thank you buddy… but if you HAD to pick ?
@@JackMackWoodturning ...ok, ok...if I had to...the springy flower bowl...the amount of work that went into it was just amazing!!!
I also love them all. Happy New year. I am from London UK.
Thanks marianne, I’d love to know what you might like to see more of this year ?
All the best for 2022 😊👍🏻
Love the resin vase!!
Thanks Rusty. 😊👍🏻

I like them all, good job.
I like them all. Wood is such a beautiful material to work with.
Thanks Sue! Much appreciated 😊👍🏻
Nice work. But waste wood amount is huge. I follow your video. I just love your work. Please share another video that to make something with the waste meterial, wood flecks. Recently I have found this channel.
There is no “waste” in my work
