    Cruz is a sign that more fighters need to use pivots defensively. Without large gloves fighters are stuck with bad high guards,pull backs and slips.

    He has a great style but it won’t last when he gets older bc his reaction time will be slower and he won’t be ass fast. That style is for youth and he’s been fighting like that his whole career so it’ll be hard for him to adjust to a different style to accommodate his older age. He’s not moving as well as he was in the past now in 2021.

    I mean Henry just chopped his legs during their whole fight. Even TJ had some success with it but just wanted to head hunt for a finish. Cruz isnt going to do well with the Calf kick meta. His body is already half Robocop and he's MMA old. This was great to see but unfortunately I just think he's part of a by gone era.

    • @antondelacruz9362
      @antondelacruz9362 3 роки тому +4

      It is a unique style not an old style so i wouldnt say bygone. The calf kick was always there but is only now becoming so popular so dom has as good a chance as anyone to figure out how to deal with it.
      Thats technique. But on a physical level i agree with you. He old and more machine now than man.

    • @TheNEOverse
      @TheNEOverse 8 місяців тому +1

      His lack of power and his injuries are a result of cultivating this footwork.
      Power requires a stable stance to punch from, which he sacrifices by zipping around all the time.
      In order to keep his movement at its sharpest, he has to really push his footwork training to its limits, and that means wearing the shit out of those joints.

      Maybe not Mt. Rushmore, but he would've def been the undisputed bantamweight GOAT. Still, seeing him win the belt after 2 acl tears and countless other injuries was impressive.

    • @khalilkaddoura9341
      @khalilkaddoura9341 3 роки тому +3

      @Chocolatito Maravilla what you mean ducked? The guy’s body was being held together by chewing gum and string and still beat Dillashaw for the belt. He had his trilogy fight with faber and dominated, then lost to Cody nochin afterwards.

    • @mvpmvp3861
      @mvpmvp3861 3 роки тому

      @Chocolatito Maravilla You use the excuse that he ducked certain fighters, but in terms of him beating TJ the first time, you’d rather ignore that and pretend like him coming off a 2 year lay off with multiple severe injuries and beating the best fighter who was close to taking his throne as the BW GOAT doesn’t mean anything. It shows your neglect in terms of respecting fighters as you give Cruz zero respect in your post. Cruz had the potential to beat every fighter you named. These fights are likely not to ever happen at this point so it’s pointless to trash a fighter like Cruz just to feed your ego with the shoulda woulda coulda mentality. Cruz changed the whole game and inspired guys like Sandhagen, TJ, Aljo and all of these other guys because of how good he was. He never ducked anyone.
