Darien let’s goooooo!!!! Plus Mercy of Gods what a stacked month lined up! I didn’t know a new Bobiverse book was on the horizon and I’m pumped to return to that series with some new Ray Porter Bob narration which I just eat up!
Nice TBR! I enjoyed Starship Troopers when I read it, but that was a long time ago. The Gallant amounts to around 100 pages, but it's a full-scale story in novella form. Enjoy!
I keep seeing the Starship Troopers movie when I scroll on Netflix and it keeps making me want to read it. Im excited to get back to Wars of Light and Shadow. I took a little break after Vastmark
With how much you enjoy the more theme-driven sci-fi stories, I think you are going to adore The Mercy of Gods! Also super curious to hear your thoughts on The Book of Elsewhere, I have been eyeing that one purely because of the author match-up! Happy reading :)
Wow its Brian Lee Durfee author of The Forgetting Moon, The Blackest Heart and The Lonesome Crown. All three books published by Simon and Schuster saga press. Ive been looking forward to reading it for a long time!
August TBR 2.0, lol. Hopefully the book of elsewhere works for you! I didn't know about The Gallant, will have to check it out, I want to start Wars of Light and Shadow soon. Conn Iggulden is great, I haven't tried his fantasy series myself but from Ben's reaction it sounds like it's on par with the better historical fiction he's written.
Would love to see what you think about the BLD books. I wasn’t a super fan, but since there’s so little out there. I wonder if others think the same as me
I also am having the same feeling about Mercy of the Gods, but I’m gonna go in with an open mind and give it a fair shot since I’ve been looking forward to it. But my expectations are definitely tempered which I don’t think is a bad thing at all. I’m still curious to see how quickly you move through the book of elsewhere, I may pick up the comics before getting into it. The gallant is now on my radar as a potential intro to Janny Wurts for me at some point before the new year. I’m on the forgetting moon on audiobook and it’s a good narration, but it is dense with lore and content that I feel I sometimes miss. That said I’m still grounded enough in the world to enjoy it on my walks
No worries. Just tell your friends and family that Christmas will be in January of next year since you had two Augusts this year. They'll understand!! ;) Happy reading!
After a very ambitious (but very rewarding) Summer TBR (both the «Memory, Sorrow & Thorn» & the «Prince of Nothing» trilogies ++), this Autumn I am gonna be a bit more mood reading with no «big chonkers». I know I am definitely gonna read «Leviathan Wakes» (The Expanse #9, Space Opera, only book I didn’t get to from my Summer TBR) & «Lustrum» (US: «Conspirata», Cicero Trilogy #2, Historical Fiction about the eponymous Roman Statesman) by Robert Harris (book #1 «Imperium» is contending for my book of the year so far, together with GGK’s «A Brightness Long Ago»). I am most likely also gonna get to Michael Moorcock’s «(The Tale of)The Eternal Champion» Trilogy (Epic Fantasy/S&S). Might also get to some Rosemary Sutcliff (YA Historical Fiction) & David Gemmell (Epic Fantasy). Cheers!
I'm not an ASMR guy, so that lip smacking stuff might be too much for me lol. Solid list though! I'm reading The Blood Stones right now and then I've got Dandelion Wine, Kingdoms of Death, and Books 2 & 3 of the Green Bone Saga (I'm trying to commit to complete series quicker).
I think everyone’s TBR spills over from one month into the next a lot of the time, lol. I know mine sure does!
Yeah it seems to happen a lot

Yes! Im so ready to sit back and listen to Ray narrate that book
Awesome video Tom! I’m excited about the new Bob book too. I’m also curious about the collab between Keanu and China.
It feels like its been so long since I read the last Bob book. Really looking forward to it.
Have a great reading month , tom ❤
Thanks! Hope you have a good one too

Really hope i enjoy both of them!
Yes for Malazan 🥳 currently at book 5 and it’s such a fun journey.
Really curious to hear your thoughts on the Keanu book once you read it.
Heinlein is a big “need to read” author for me too. Although I want to start with stranger in a strange land 😝
At my current pace I wont get to book 5 until next year but I am looking forward to it.
@@TomOrange I’m at a 2-3 books a year pace. So no worries ;) it’s a slow read, but lots of fun!
If you listen to The Forgetting Moon just speed up the narration by one hundred percent and it will fly by!!!

Had no idea that Iggulden had some historical fiction as well. I’m a big fan of Wars of Light and Shadow. It’s been a great journey so far

Hoping I can get to it!

From what I have heard Janny say its a good intro the Wars of Light and Shadow
@@TomOrange okay heck ya.

lol brilliant idea

I think the last Expanse book is really well done. Always hard to wrap up a series on that scale but I think they do a good job

Green Bone is one of those series I really feel like i need to get around to
