You complain about the tuners feeling stiff. In case You don't know: The Philips screw in the tuning knobs is not only there to hold them in place, but to adjust them to your taste. Just loosen the screw a little bit, and the tuner turns easier. Another Tipp: most cheap machine heads need some breaking in. Before you change strings next time, take a string winder and tune the old strings a dozen turns down and up again, just some fast turning, no need for accuracy ;-). After that, the machine heads usually turn much smoother.
Played my red one of these today for the first time in 6 months. Still in tune. Still blown away it cost me 118 quid as the quality is insane for that price. Great finish, neck, decent fretwork and surprisingly good pick ups.
I bought one of these in a sale on Thomman after watching this video ..got to say I was not disappointed .The neck is amazing , hard to explain thin and the fret board fells super hard like its made of Bakelite rather than wood. Love it

I’ve had the older, white (non-blast-off) version of this guitar for about a year now. It’s fantastic. I play it all the time. Great neck, great pickups. My version has a different set of tuners, and they work perfectly and the guitar stays in tune like a champ. Highly recommended. The only issue I’ve had is one of the string trees popping out. @@mizonuna9170 Good question. I don’t have enough experience with TV Jones pickups to make a comparison. I would describe the pickups in the HB as bright but not brittle or thin. Thicker, for sure, than single coils, but not as dark or heavy as a PAF-style humbucker.

I’m presently blasting off with the Green Blast, and loving it! I think HB have purposely gone for a Marmite guitar, hence the reverse neck and Filtertrons. They already make lots of great ‘standard’ guitars that will nicely ‘fit in’. This feels like an alternative for guys who already have that covered. This is my fourth HB guitar and they all sound usefully - and markedly - different from each other. Best value out there. Thanks for the great review!
Great review of the TE90. The soft tones on this guitar are wonderful almost like a hollow body or even an acoustic. This guitar really has a unique sound with the filll pups. The "Blast Off" finish also looks class. You're a nice player "geeks". Keep up the great work.
I really love how that looks and feels Andy. Harley Benton are definitely thinking out of the box a bit more these days. Excellent review once again Andy 😀❤️👍👍 Blast Off 😀
It's a really cool guitar and it even works with metal and hard rock if you set up the amp right. Also no matter the D'Addarios on it, they were 10s so I immediately changed them to 9s (and haha, to Harley Benton ValueStrings no less!) and it just screeeeaaaaaams!!! It plays so well and easy it's just addictive. Tuners are the big negative but I can live with them. Also, the fretboard tends to pick up dirt and gunk from the hands and the grain tends to turn dark, so it needs a cleaning quite often. I'm in love with it though. Just ordered a T59/V, due in November. They're amazing for the price!!
Had enjoyed reviewing this one even though it did not reach me in a playable state. Also the blue burst for me has now faded to a green burst 1 year later. Let us know if the colour turns to a new shade due to light / sunshine. Even after all that, really enjoy the guitar still. Planning on upgrading the tuners to reverse hipshots and want to attach a bigsby style trem system but unsure on what will fit on it.
Have the non blasted te 90 flt in vw and love it. It comes with "normal" machineheads instead of vintage ones. They do the job and it stays in tune well. Blast off! (poooff) this guitar is 133 now because of the 25/25/25 Harley Benton promo. Question is: is it versatile enough? I'm currently on a Gibson LP Standard Faded 2008 (which shares the cavity innards thingy with this guitar) which has one of the fullest sounds ever, but looking to change pace to a brighter, pointy sound. I want to play as a rythm guitar in a band that plays Judas Priests and AC/DC covers (which tonally are really opposite, in my experience) with a sprinkle of DIO. So pretty standard tuning but highly present tones. The idea is to have an ax to go play elsewhere and leave the expensive big G at home safe. Would this do?
i have this guitar for about 3 months, and its my first electric, the issue for me is im using boss katana, and have to pump treble forr it not to sound muddy, but otherwise, its really nice feel on the neck, enjoyable to play, real real nice, and worth the money, with a good setup, i can get any sound i want out of it, oh, one more issue is the tone knob, i barely feel difference in the beggining, and it changes heavily at the end, its like the whole tone control is at the end of the spin, but, since im a beginner, i barely care about it...
@@TheGuitarGeek i think its the amp difference, but i love the guitar how it performs on bluesy side of spectrum, and as i said, it brightens up with treble, so i can control fairly good its sound, and am unbothered by it, but i do enjoy the guitar, its a splendid instrument

Nice review sir.
Black blast is pretty. But the orange blast....pants twitching pretty, sorry, I think I may have just blast off
I didn’t know there was an orange one!
The one on the website looks quite different. Might be a bit of a lottery getting a nice grain pattern you like.
Oh, and blast off
I have two HB's, stunning guitars.
"Green Blast" looks better at my taste but TE-90 are pretty good guitars for sure. Thanx for review!
Pretty cool finish! Great sounds...... I'm not a single cut Dude...and I'm NOT a T-style headstock Dude...and REALLY NOT a reversed headstock Dude. Bu it does sound great.......at an awesome price.
Blast off!! At that price, with that look and that sound, HB are really putting the wind up Fender (who I think have been resting on their laurels for waaaayyy too long).
Blast off! Okay, I'll play along. I kind of like the "orange blast" a bit more. You're kind of silly though.
I think I need to make one of those blast off to Canada.
Those pickups sound great!
I like the knob and switch configuration better than on an actual Tele.
That is one blast off of a guitar finish :)
Thanks for playing the guitar, more enjoyable than watching the same riff played over the pickups, i need an upgrade, What Harley Benton would you suggest for Psychedelic, Funky Blues, id like to, "blast off" a bit more
I think it's a looker, got a Chapman thing going on. This is the first HB I fancy buying .
BLAST OFF! That is a great looking guitar. I have been looking for a Cabronita style guitar but am not sold on that reverse headstock and like you, I prefer darker necks. Well done though!
Can’t deal with the reverse blasted off headstock. I love the finish tho. I wish they gave a choice. Actually I have an old Squier neck. Wonder if it would fit?
Blastoff. Thanks or your videos they’re greate🤘🏻
I like the looks and clarity, but whoever decided to make a neck that white instead of a say, Roasted Maple should BLAST OFF!!
I'm not feeling very funny today :( maybe a little down in the mouth?). Thanks for another good video.
Peace, Keith
Oh, wanted to ask if you've played an Eastman SB59/V Andy? I got one almost a year ago to the day, and fall in love all over every time I open the case. Just ordered a T59/V, due in November. They're amazing for the price!!
Always wondered about the sound on a Cabronita-style tele. Now, I know. Thanks. Well, time to "Blast off."
On my TE 62cc are the vintage ones, they a little bit stiff, but they keep the guitar in tune. Really dig the look of the blast series- orange or black- blast off 🤘
How much does yours weigh?
@@bennettscher Te 90 FLT around 3.6 kg, Te 62cc around 3,3kg .
@@joachimleinfelder1200 the one with the filter trons and the reverse headstock weighs 3.6 kg? That's really heavy. I heard it was chambered and very lightweight, and almost ready to buy it but that's almost 8 lb. Thanks for the warning
Tried several Te 90 FLTs and 3,6kg is a good average weight. Just a few were lighter, around 3,5kg. But it doesn't bother me it plays really well with a unique sound...😎
That's really odd. The guitar i played was really bright. As long as you are having fun and feel motivated, tone can come later.
@@TheGuitarGeek i think its the amp difference, but i love the guitar how it performs on bluesy side of spectrum, and as i said, it brightens up with treble, so i can control fairly good its sound, and am unbothered by it, but i do enjoy the guitar, its a splendid instrument
Blast! Off to fight the urge to wring some funds from the bank account.
I have the orange blast .great couch and toilet guitar
Although the neck freaks me out a bit and the switch seem like it'll blast off, I am really intrigued by this guitar
The only thing I would blast off is that color. I think it might look better in orange. Just an opinion. That said, nice platform to work with
There’s a few colours. The blue is nice
