If you don't cut the burner the 9m will always follow you.
Grind gets better when u get bombs, the bombcat can drop em at any speed and if u use the bomb computer you can go M.1.3 nose up 45* and SLING EM 5 miles and get to the fight fast as normal.

Word of advice, don't fire a radar missile against a plane who has already shot a missile at you if you don't plan on using countermeasures. Aim-7's need a constant radar lock from your plane in order to not blow themselves up.
U can fire and make to turns 90 degrees. (First 45 right, second 90 right, third 90 left) enemy missile will waste energy and wont be able to hit u, if enemy flight straoght u will kill him.
Works with 15+ km between planes at 5k km+
stock grind in top tier jets is easy because the matches are only like 5 minutes lol Tanks however, god I hate grinding tanks, they need to seriously buff RP in ground battles.
When you notch the F-14 you have to level out.
The aircraft is so big if you stay sideways the missile will track.

yeah man, shoot for the moon. I have 3600 hours and while I'd like the grind to be faster, that's a bit much
I mean, with prem account and a prem vehicle, you could probably unlock a medium sized tree under 100 hours. Air wise at least, ground takes longer.

On the f-14b the aim9L is a default missile (at any top tier vehicle you get at least 2 of your average missiles in this case the aim9L)

What is chaff/BOL?
In decoy. …of active decoy known as chaff, which consists of tiny strips of aluminum or zinc that the aircraft releases in large bunches. These metallic clouds appear as separate targets to the missile's radar and ideally confuse the missile, thus permitting the aircraft to escape.

what are you meant to do against those radar missiles? I'm not far enough through the game yet to face players with them.
Just stay low and you'll be fine
Use chaffs or just out manouver them. Radar missiles while fly longer and can't be flared (and chaffs doesn't always work, mostly when missile is already fired) they have worse maximum Gs and speed.
Fly low, that works against all radar missiles. Lower tier ones can also be easily dodged with chaff, and better ones can be countered by notching the enemy's radar.
