there are a few flaws with the viper 8khz the mouse cable outlet on the mouse is way too low, almost NO OTHER Razer Mouse got a cable outlet at that position for a good reason, it can slow down your mouse moving it will feel very sluggish the only fix is to cut a bit of that away so it doesnt touch the mousepad anymore. another major flaw is that most pc's including mine weren't ready for such high polling rates back when they were built (in my case 2017), which means you can't fully use the potential unless you very recently built a new Computer (or upgraded Mainboard and CPU) i use that mouse for nearly 2 years now. some tips for everyone considering to run that mouse: if you have built a new Computer go for as high on polling rates as you don't get micro stutters (those occur when the onboard chip on your mainboard which handles usb input is overwhelmed and your CPU has to kick in to handle the data this is causing the stutters). Buy Glass Mouse Skates they are a great addition, aswell as cusatom griptapes. Also you will most likely feel that your mousae will feel sluggish just carefully cut away parts of the cable protector on the mouse cable outlet until it doesn't touch the mousepad anymore. Mostly a problem with soft mousaepads e.g. Roccat Taitos, QcK Heavy etc. Another Problem might be the super light mousae cable itself it is very comfortable it is very soft and is very light, which leads to tangling which can be prevented using a mouse Bungee There were some major design flaws made on that mouse which might have been intentional to make the customers buy the wireless version of the Viper aka the Viper v2 pro (no 8khz Polling rate mode)
There's more though. The springs used in the mouse buttons are actually very weak and easily-malleable meaning that lots of people eventually experience wobbly and rattly mouse keys. Second, to get to the springs you have to peel off the stickers, after the 3rd time unscrewing the mouse, I had to order new mouse feet. Third, the polling rate doesn't actually stay at maximum the entire time. It increases the faster you move the mouse, meaning that a lot of the time you are getting a very normal polling rate, as you would with every other mouse. The only benefits will be seen when doing really fast motions, but even then, you likely will not be able to move your mouse fast enough to make the mouse refresh at 8kHz. There are other minor issues but these are the biggest ones.
Been using the Viper 8k for 5 months and love everything about. But one thing that bugs me is that the wire gets tangled frequently while playing games. Because I play in 400dpi and low in game sens I have to move the mouse quiet a lot. I would love to see a Viper 8k Wireless And I have used many razer mice before but only this one has on-board storage for RGB,macro etc. need this feature in all razer mice and keyboards
@@jc008titan Meh depends on how you set it up. I actually COIL the cable that is being lifted by the mouse bungee, and I have the bungee elevated on a surface around 15cm high. Cable very rarely gets in the way, practically what it feels like using a wireless mouse. Just use your head dude.

I bought the 8k when it first came out and had a lot of issues using it in CSGO and Valorant. It would cause the game to slowdown and stutter badly like you experienced. I thought maybe it was because my CPU was getting older (i7 7700), so I tried it again when I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 5600x and an RTX 3080 and it still does the same thing. Bummer, because it's a neat idea. It works fine when I dial down the polling rate in Synapse, however that sorta defeats the purpose of the mouse and I ended up just using my Viper Ultimate instead. It also works at 8khz when just browsing on my desktop without any lag/stutter and it doesn't seem to affect my CPU usage a lot, so I, too, think it's just something with the way it behaves with game engines. Great review though, glad to see you back.
the reason of the slowdown is not about your cpu but the usb controller. You need to put the viper in a complety separete usb controller than your keyboard.
The reason it happens is because most game engines weren’t designed to play at 8k the usb controller more than likely wasn’t your problem. I do believe valorant has been updated to use 8k now

ive had my razer 8khz for 1 or 2 years, and lately, its beginning to rattle, but it only happens with my left click. When I slightly put pressure on the button it stops. So i wonder how I can fix the rattle. Because its annoying to hear and sometimes it feels weird clicking on it
deathadder v3 is absolute garbage for the first run, 3 different mice all with LED blinker light issues, will not show you what polling rate you're in and razer synapse doesn't change anything, you can put the polling to 125 or to 8000 and it's the same exact thing. It's busted and stuck at 1600-1805hz and that's the max for the unit. I have the latest of everything for my pc and it just doesn't want to work. I've run so many tests. It's not worth the headache, wait for the second or third run of the mouse bc this first run is actually horrendous, I'm about to swap back to my v2 and call it a day because this is trash
@@VIGONI so I had this mouse now for 2 years and it's actually broken now. It's turning on and off every 5 minutes, can't play any shooter now with it.. 2 years is pretty bad.. so I will buy now the 8khz
