    This is a video devlog recapitulating the "universe" part of development of Antimatter from 2023 to 2024.
    Massive work has also been done on the surface aspect ( the 2d side-view) but will be shown on another dedicated devlog, with explanations on how it will communicate with the rest of the simulation.
    This is not an exhaustive devlog, a lot more has been done in many other aspects of the game and simulation. But here this is a rare occasion to show some parts of the game as a video.

      Dude u have some ugly outdated 3d graphics here) If u cant afford modern 3d graphics maybe it would be better to switch to 2d digital art which will look much better than this )

    As a player who thoroughly enjoyed Aurora 4x, I am eagerly looking forward to the release of Antimatter!

    It looks promising but I have to say that the 3D portraits look weird, you should improve them or make another kind of portraits to display people.

    Are the 3d characters placeholders? They really clash with the 2d aesthetic of the game and look like playdough.

    When did you remove the terrain sideview with physics? that was the main reason why I backed the game :(

      It wasn't removed but was branched separately to increase productivity. I will soon give update on that work, but it is currently not as close to completion in comparison to the interstellar aspect of the game.

      As disapointing as my response will sound, there is currently no planned date for release, I will announce one once the game has reached a certain state of stability and gameplay loop.
      Development has been going well for the past years and that is all I am able to say with confidence.

    Great feature display, thanks for update.
    Are tile changes during terraforming depend purely on current state of general environment (and some kind of planet seed) or are they also depend on status of nearby tiles (and own previous status)? E.g. maybe forest tiles only spawning near older forest tiles or growing on grassland tiles and not because they are on fitting latitude with correct atmospheric conditions. And then it would be possible to deforest some regions through woodcutting and maybe turn them in deserts without any atmosphere changes (as example).

      Here my late reply : Good question, currently this is mainly driven by global stats of the planet, as you've pointed out.
      However, each tile tracks a number of things such has pollution, " tile damages", and the "wilderness" level, which is essentially the current health of the flora.
      For the moment, tiles don't communicate much with each other a far as terraformation is concerned, one of the main reason is performances. Here I shedule a planet-wide terraformation pass each time something is modified for every single simulation-activated planets, by doing a multi-pass tile by tile neighbour propagation of effects I fear that it would lock the feature behind very poor performances.
      The prospect of having such feature isn't impossible though, there are ways, but it requires lot of work in optimisation and caching.
