  • Okay, second video! All the Empoleon stats stuff, as well as the first strategy, is in the first video, so here are the two other strategies!
    0:00 - Meloetta
    2) Get rid of Competitive! There are a few moves that do this: Simple Beam (only available on Latios, Golduck, and Grumpig...), Gastro Acid (available on nine families but none of which seem notable), Worry Seed (available mainly on grass types; the only ones not weak to ice are Scovillain and Comfey), and Skill Swap which has crazy distribution. Since you only prevent Competitive buffs after your first turn, you still need to reset for zero Intimidate allies, though that's still a manageable 55.76%.
The two Worry Seed users noted above might make for fun soloers, but the only move I've seen mentioned for soloing has been Skill Swap, which has many options that have STAB super-effective moves. For example, Tinkaton can buff with Swords Dance and then attack with Gigaton Hammer while debuffing with Skitter Smack, and Delphox can set Sunny Day, buff with Calm Mind, and attack+debuff with Mystical Fire.
In my case, I went for the silly option of Metronome Meloetta! Swapping Serene Grace onto an enemy that can freeze is kinda scary (though at least Arboliva's Safeguard could prevent it) and Meloetta doesn't really have any useful debuffs, but you can Swords Dance and then spam Drain Punch, while AI Weavile and Mudsdale can lower Empoleon's defense for you.
(If you're playing support online, then you should bring Weak Armor Polteageist and Skill Swap it onto Empoleon! Sadly you don't really have any debuffs or damage buffs, but you can at least buff/heal your allies afterwards.)
    8:50 - Hariyama
    3) Ignore Competitive! This is only feasible if you're willing to reset until no AI sabotage you: obviously you want zero Intimidate, but you probably also want few/no debuffs either. In that case, though, the only thing limiting your solo strats is the lack of debuffs: a Gholdengo oneshot wouldn't be feasible since you can't debuff, but the usual lifedrain strats work well. Plenty of fighting types with Drain Punch aren't weak to its moves but you can even find some that resist ice (such as Poliwrath, Urshifu, or Lucario), and Sunny Day allows for fire types to survive too (such as Infernape or Emboar), including Ceruledge who can spam Bitter Blade instead (with pocket Clear Smog if an ally does happen to proc Competitive).
Even if you don't resist ice through typing, abilities can help! Thick Fat Hariyama can shrug off ice attacks and is more than bulky enough to survive using Belly Drum, leading to a super-quick, super-safe clear with Drain Punch... as long as you end up with AI allies that never proc Competitive. I attempted to use Fake Out in order to prevent one attack and have Glare go off successfully, which... seems to have worked? Maybe it wasn't necessary. Focus Energy plus a Razor Claw guarantees crits, letting you ignore the late Iron Defense; 84 Spe EVs lets you outspeed Empoleon, though when shield isn't up an AI ally's paralysis can let you outspeed instead.
All in all, a pretty cool 7* raid.
