I bought my 2015 Renegade Trailhawk fully intending to drive it off-pavement on BLM and Forest Service trails. The selling points to me were 30.1 degree approach angle, 25.7 degree breakover angle, 34 degree departure angle, 8.7 inches of running ground clearance, 20:1 mechanical reduction X 2:1 potential from the torque converter for an effective 40:1, less than 3.500 pounds, and the compact length, width, and roof height. Add in the effective traction control, skid plates, and recovery points, and there was little doubt that I'd be able to Jeep Things in mine. I wanted a vehicle I wouldn't have to mod in order to get where I want to go. I got what I wanted. Off all of the off-pavement vehicles I've owned since I was a 21 year old buying a new Suzuki Samurai in '86, my Renegade is my personal favorite. I have no plans to part with it and hope there will be enough parts availability in the future to keep it on the road. Here's my mod list: 225 75 17 Falken Wildpeak AT 3 on stock wheels with no spacers. A receiver hitch so I can pull my M-416 military cargo trailer that I've had since my Samurai days. That's it. And that's all it needs to handle the overwhelming majority of open, legal routes on public BLM and Forest Service land.
I have a 2017 renegade latitude. And guess what? It’s front wheel drive not four-wheel-drive. But I’m going to modify it anyway because I want it to look like a four-wheel-drive car. It’s a four-wheel-drive wantabe! Crazy but I love my car! ❤️ love your channel too!!
So simple yet so effective. I love it.
Haley did a great job with her Renegade.

What ladder is that?
Gobi Racks Ladder
Where she get the rooftop tent?
It’s a Smittybilt tent, that she originally bought on Amazon years ago. Check out her Instagram @wayward.renegade
