✪ Do you want me making Wooden FM radio version?
Yes
with full range speaker 5 inch :)
Yes
👌
yes
As a kid I always wanted to make something like this. The technology just didn't exist to integrate these kind of components back then. So fun to see you make this. Now I just might have to make a few of them. SO so cool! Thanks for this video.
Really cool. I've been planning on doing this out of wood. The screws for the handle need to be longer with something to screw into. Maybe a piece of wood. I would also use a car or radio antenna that looks more like a radio antenna. Maybe an auto extending one. Not sure how big they are and if one would fit in the box. Really neat build.
Just try not to drop the speaker, with all that hard work, the frame material looks it can fall apart with 1 drop. However, nice project!
Jfsn Isxa kscce ajfe s ogsce
I was very disappointed when I seen it was made out of Styrofoam and that that wasn't the template.
Ofher than wiring the left speaker to the right channel and vice versa, great job
And using just 5W speakers on a 60W amplifier
And only using two speakers instead of four
And using a wi-fi antenna for FM reception (a decent FM aerial would have been better)
And using unknown capacity 18650s, which could be OK, but could be almost dead?
Nice idea :) I might have a go myself at something like this. Also like the idea of using 11.1V using 18650 Li-Ion batteries, as they can be found everywhere for cheap.
Just a couple of improvements I would make:
1) Wire up 4x speakers, as the amplifier allows it, or have 2x external speaker clips on the back, for hooking up a pair of external speakers.
2) Use decent quality speakers that match the rating of the amplifier, for best sound and maximum longevity. Pairing a 60W amp with a 5W speaker is not a good idea.
3) That aerial looks neat, but won't perform very well except for strong signals. The wavelength (and therefore required aerial length/properties) at 2.4GHz (wi-fi aerial shown) is much different to that of a 100MHz signal (middle of FM band), so you need to use a 75cm telescopic at the minimum (or a 1.5m dipole/ribbon aerial).
3a) Potentially have an external aerial socket as an option
3b) That aerial connection solder joint (from car aerial to 2.4GHz aerial) won't provide optimal signal transfer, use proper connectors and impedance matched cables.
Other than that, great :)
thank for your usefull suggestions :)
Amp is 14 watts RMS at best. Pairing that with 5w speakers is fine. If it was opposite, it would be weak.
@@Duake1 So they're lying with the 60W rating... still, it wouldn't hurt to use 10-20W speakers, so that it is more in line with the rating (realistic or quoted) and less likely to blow the speakers up. You'll also get better audio quality than with smaller 5W speakers.
I might make one of these myself. I've seen the exact same amplifier as this one on eBay, and it does FM, AUX, BT, SD and USB, which is just about everything I need.
@@TheSpotify95 While I can agree with a lower RMS rating, 5W would work just fine considering the material. Sound quality mainly depends on the source as well as a crossover point and EQ if needed if the source cant do it.
@@Duake1 If you were to use proper wood, which I will do when I make one of these, then the 5W speakers would be a bit weak. I wouldn't use the foamy stuff because it is too fragile.
The video also used full range speakers instead of a tweeter and woofer (and also only 2x speakers at that!). I've got 4x LG 65W speakers lined up to use, salvaged from an old surround sound system. If required, I can then add in a pair of tweeters afterwards.
Initial tests did find that the amp was quite weak, but then again, I won't know for certain until I've got it in an enclosure, and I'll use 4x speakers instead of 2x speakers, which will help significantly. I'll also have external speaker terminals for in case I want to add different speakers - as I have the guts from an old 3 way system lying around somewhere and I might just create a pair of 3 way speakers.

Make it with a subwoofer and Real wood better speakers🔊🙏i love your videos

I've already done something similar months ago, but on a way bigger scale. I used a Bluetooth head unit, (2) 6.5 inch speakers, (2) 3.5 inch speakers, (2) 10 inch subs, a 400 watt amp, a wooden toy chest, and it's all powered by a Xbox 360 power brick. I also made a smaller one inside an ammo box with a BT head unit, (2) 4.5 inch speakers, powered by a rechargeable battery pack.
Very nice project easy to duplicate, no crazy tools required!

Nice work but .some change must first specars 5 watt to small as per amplifie capacity.add one 4 intch sub woofer.in separate close chamber with air vent or bass radiater . .nice work 👍🙏

I want these guys to make me one and have it shipped to America this is incredible.
Beautiful design but no sound insulation on the inside sounds empty box.
Super travail je vais partager cette vidéo 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have exactly the same car stereo, planning to use it for this project😅
Great idea and good job my idol!
I'm going to make one of these myself, with the same head end, but a few improvements :)
1) 4x 65W LG speakers
2) 11.1V 6Ah Li-Po batteries (might have two sets in parallel for 12Ah)
3) 75cm telescope FM radio aerial for better quality signal :)
Hello. Your jobs are very good. But I just wondering what king of glue you using for foam? 🙂
cool. I don't know if you could help me, what happens is that I have some speakers from a home theater. I have 5 speakers of 6 ohms 30w each. And an 8 ohm 70w subwoofer. I would like to arm myself like the one he has done, but I don't know how to start.
30W speakers will be absolutely fine
for a subwoofer you will need a 2.1ch amplifier or a 2 way crossover

Sehr nice👍👍👍👍👍
Amazing built speaker video keep it up and it sounds amazing too
How long (time wise) do the battery last before you have to recharge them again?
Depends on the batteries that you use.
The batteries used in the video are from old laptops - at a push they will be 2Ah each (more likely 1Ah) so between 2Ah and 4Ah total. With the current that a car radio will draw, it'll be anywhere from 1 hour to 5 hours run time, depending on battery capacity/output volume etc. I'll have to do some tests when I make my own version.
I want to make an old retro looking FM/AM radio with Bluetooth, micro SD card slot, and foam core board or cardboard is great because it wouldn't be anything anyone would want to walk off with. Plus no woodshop tools needed.
Great,I will make my version.I will use wood for box,12v motorcycle battery and 70w 2 way speakers.I dont know how long will these 5w speakers last?😕
Renato Turković 1 Second 🤨🧐🙂
Based on what you play and a HPF for highs using a capacitor, this can get pretty loud. People dont understand how speakers and watts work. I have a 9v power amp from old $8 computer speakers powering 60 watt RMS 6.5" 3 ways in a board that is just lodged in my daughter's dresser top shelf.
I like your videos but please have the music change and not repeat as well it repeats at a bad point btw.
Also please like the materials used to create this!
I am tempted to make a speaker so i hope you can list it!
Thanks for the like!

5W 8Ohm speakers with a 60w 4ohm car radio
Rly?
My thoughts precisely! That will sound terrible!
@@zebfox011 It'll also blow the speakers up if you turn them up...
5W speakers are OK for smaller portable speakers (like those mini sound bars that you pair up with a phone). For something like this, you need at least a 20W speaker.
Edit: 20W RMS is not enough with that amplifier, you need 50W or better speakers.
It's beautful🤩
Also this has a spesific wireing 2 front and two rear outputs
From Vietnam Thank for your great video!!!
fm antenna signal booster and external wifi antenna are not in the video description
حه
Doesn't really matter, because a 2.4GHz wi-fi antenna is not the correct antenna to use with 100MHz (0.1GHz) FM broadcasts. Boosting a poor quality signal will not make much difference.
You need a 75cm telescopic antenna for FM. Maybe then add the booster if your signal is still weak.
Ahhh, those cold solder joints on the BMS and exposed battery terminals.
Waste of time. This is. Four channels head unit radio. How come you put two small speakers

any way to turn off the clock when not in use?
Those speakers are too little for being used with a car radio!
Someone smart 👏
Mladen0202 Thanks!
My thoughts exactly. For a system rated at 60W per channel, you do not want to be using a 5W speaker per channel!
Plus, they could have wired 4 speakers up, as the amp allows...
spotify95 That guy isnt the brightest bulb, he just makes these to show people the procedure. you can just replace the speakers and make this on your own
spotify95 well, probably those 60w x 4 aren’t real. And, to make a better job, he could use ISO connectors to replace the head unit easily if needed.
does it blow the speakers at max?
Would be way better if you used wood and better speakers
EG 95 it’s just a proof of concept. You can always take this and improve on it
I know right
De que material esta hecho el mueble?.
Esta muy bien hecho.
Really nice idéa and tuto 👌
Thank you ✌️
What's the best tool for sticking mailer with wood design to plastic-a sock😂😂😂 cool project!
the radio comes with that connector of the speakers at the time of purchase
Ele meteu solda no negocio
How much volt and power the battery gives????
But you using hi-fi amplifier but speakers is so small and low wattage
Yep, speakers should be 15W minimum.
I am re-creating this but using some better quality car speakers (rated 100W).
I know its your project and not mine, but if it were me I would have used real wood instead of plastic and stickers. It would probably sound better too!
I'd also have used better quality speakers and higher capacity batteries!
What material did you use for the box
Foamex PVC board
4x60W on 2x5W nice 😂😂😂
i sure it cost more than a smaller box and the smaller box will play more loud
You put 50W amplifier to 5W speakers...
And... only two speakers
@@williamramalhodacosta763 With that Amplifier can make a boom box with nice bass
amp ratings and speaker ratings are measured differently, amps are usually peak watt's and speakers are max watts normally, the amp would more than likely be around 10-15 watts, 20 if you're really lucky
Guys, here is TDA7496. 2x5W.
I can't use 50W speaker for Foamex material :)
How much time the battery will run
Not long with those poor quality 18650s, best to build a decent battery pack with high capacity Li-Ion or Li-Po.
Total cost (approximately calculated)-
~Rs.4000 (~ $57)
I think you could use bigger speakers than those little ones. At least, a "little" bit bigger ones.
using 5W speakers (and only two as well) for a 4x 60W amplifier is not a good idea, you should match the speakers to the amp
Would been better if he use real wood
Me llamo joelpresa
Your channel is very good
5W speakers for 60W system? WIFI for FM antenna? Metal screws on foam board? ... nice going bro! LOL
Yeah, not so great is it... From what I've found out, if you combine the knowledge of all of these DIY speakers/radios together, you should get one good product.
I saw someone using Logitech Z5500 speakers with a 2x 3W amp. That won't work well (waste of 62W speakers).
This won't work either as you'll destroy your 5W speakers easily with a 60W amp.
You want to make sure that you match the amp's rating with the speakers' rating.
Also you are right in that a 2.4GHz (wi-fi frequency) antenna will not work well at all for 100MHz (center of FM band) signals. You need a telescopic antenna, or any antenna of 75cm length (or 1.5m for a fixed aerial). That tiny aerial will only work in strong signal areas.
@@simplydoge4730 I tried using a pair of Pioneer "110W" 4 ohm speakers with this. They are actually 20W RMS, and even they struggled. You want 60W 4 ohm speakers for this (I have some 8 ohm 100W speakers which are perfect).
can i hook a tweeter to the head unit? like i put in into parallel to the front or rear speakers?
Yeah, u can do
@@XCreation thanks for response mate!

@@hoanganhluong4242 cảm ơn bạn
That remote control is soooo cute
Very small and low-power speakers for this car radio. You need to put at least two Pioneer speakers of 30 watts each
Or even 50-60W, because the radio is rated 50W/channel
Grudge e surgsie sirvhwvr
No. Useless. That radio is about $60-80. Output is most likely 14w/ch with some adtertised peak of 60w. Thats at 4 ohms. 8 ohms makes the amp work harder because there is more resistance. Those 5w speakers with a 220v cap could be cranked up loud as long as there isnt a bass heavy song. EQ would make a great midrange, which is just what old boom boxes were. Paper woofers with barely a surround with a high pass filter so they wouldnt blow.
@@Duake1 I've tried using this amp with some "110W" Pioneer speakers (20W RMS). Although the result was better than this video, it still distorted at high volumes/bass heavy music. I think this is better used with 50W speakers.
@@TheSpotify95 Oh I get how certain speakers tend to distort rather quickly with any type of amplifier, so in order to actually subvert that, solder in a capacitor to cut out the lows and all is good. Also understand that any EQ settings in whatever you're playing music from is going to mess it up as well. It's always about finding the "sweet spot".
Koi aur lcb protection nahi laga sakte kya
Can I know where you got the charging port from? I would like to do something similar for my school project....
Any 12v charging port like a laptop or other things I just did it Friday it really easy
This came out nice glossy wood look
Why 5 watts. A car radio can work with a 80 watts speaker.
car radios are like 10w
