Yes, Tom Westman, Yul Kwon, Parvati Shallow, Todd Herzog, Brian Heidik and Richard Hatch played more impressive winning games than J.T. J.T. is okay. He's a great social winner, but strategically speaking, he needed someone like Stephen to help maneuver through the game.
No I believe JT is the best winner of the first 18 seasons. Rich, Parvati, Tom, Chris D., Yul, Todd, and Earl are close though. Possibly the best win ever up there with Kim, Rob, and Tony in WaW.

As a Seahawks fan JT doing that was like when they threw the ball on the one yard line of the Super Bowl. If you pull it off your most likely the champ but unfortunately Russell threw the game on it’s head…
Probably the best social game ever. His connection with the tribe was so genuine that they didn’t even see it as competition or intimidating-they all individually loved and adopted him as family.
This is one of my favourite seasons, Great winner, Hilarious characters in Tyson and Coach, Lots of Drama with Timbira Tribe. Very Entertaining season.
It's kind of hard to think of JT like this because of what happened in his next two seasons. He went from being one of the best winners to one of the biggest collapses of a Survivor legend. In his defense though, he trusted the wrong people, which was why he lost the seasons. His game should be remembered as one of the best.
If that's true, it doesn't surprise me. JT is in fact, a very smart player. And I'm tired of people calling him dumb because of Heroes VS Villains and Game Changers. What happened on those seasons doesn't take away the fact that he played the first perfect game in Survivor History.

Unfortunately for J.T., his playing the best winning game ever in Tocantins doomed him for ever coming back, since he could only play worse. JT reminds me of Richard Hatch a little. He won his first game and when he came back he didn’t have to be a careful and could afford to make big and risky moves. Like Hatch in all stars was much more cocky because he already won. He was just there for fun.
I’m more of a person that enjoys a good story over good gameplay. Obviously if I could have both, I would, but as long as the story of a contestant is good, I tend to like them.
In HvV JT took a huge risk we can say it was a dumb move because we knew more at that point than he. So JT tried to play the hero and save Russell. It blew up in his face, but had it worked it would've been legendary for different reasons.
I mean it was a dumb move even though he didn’t have all the information we had. Giving away your idol to someone you don’t know isn’t worth the risk. He had no idea what was going on with the other tribe and just jumped to conclusions.
I still rank him in my Top 10 best winners, even with his losing games. I mean, Tom Brady lost some SuperBowls as well. :D Heck, great players like Parv and Boston Rob lost their first games. Gamechangers needs to be removed from the records for Legendary players. It was a bloodbath. :P
I don’t get the JT slander I’ve seen on other platforms. Yes, his move in giving Russell the idol was dumb, but it could have easily been one of the greatest survivor moves ever if it worked and he did have the right idea to try to get rid of Parvati plus no one had seen Samoa at that point. There was also a lot of pressure on him to live up to his title bc he did set the bar so high as Tocantins perfect game player and golden boy. For me, he was more true to himself in Tocantins and I feel like he could have gotten further in HvV if he didn’t play like a villain but I do understand why he did choose to switch how he played the game. He’s definitely a genuine person as well so I also don’t get why people say he’s very fake.
