The screw on the trigger does not adjust the take up, it adjust the overtravel. Overtravel is how much can the trigger move backwards after the point that the hammer is released from the sear

      Exactly. 'Trigger Stop'.

My mistake, just noticed this and totally oversaw it! Something I haven't seen many triggers do in the Hi-Capa world

I was under the impression the Top Dead Centre is the manner of application of the force, not the adjustment itself.
The hop is impinged upon purely vertically for consistency by a sliding stirrup rather than a swinging arm as in more traditional hop units, so you don't get any variance in the direction of the force as it's increased.
The KJW CZs and Modify PP2K have a similar system where you use a screw at the base of the hop to pull the stirrup straight down and increase hop application.
The A-Plus CNC hop units used in Archwick's L119A2 and the CLPD custom guns also have a TDC impingement, but the adjustment is by way of coaxial grub screw beneath the hop chamber that makes it a lot easier to adjust than the WE style ones with the grub hidden above the chamber where it's harder to access even with the receiver open.
The metal slide is probably where a lot of the added cost has gone into, not sure if it's cast or CNC machined, but I could ask the guys. Certainly for higher power countries or competitive shooting a metal slide is pretty essential, a few of my teammates have cracked 3D printed or plastic lightweight ones and I'm on my third outer barrel for my Shadow 2.

This is the truth, anything adjusted whatever and however as long as it’s applied too dead center

It definitely has a place somewhere in the sport, perhaps in competitions, but for now marui seems like the safer option to go for. However if that hop ever becomes sold seperately I'll definitely try n snag one.

You get an extra hop rubber in the box when you buy it new so that you can use 0.28g and below.
I think if you are buying a hi capa to upgrade it, then it doesn't really matter what brand you buy.
I've almost replaced everything on my Gold Match anyway except the mag release and frame

Tbh I was thinking of getting an hi-capa. I saw this at a local store and find know if I should pick it up. I also saw a yt vid of the lancer tactical stryk. I was wondering what your opinion was on lancer tactical hi-cap as?

Overall performance is good all metal internals but the design is a bit off course when it comes to the hi capa design .....the rmr mount should be re designed.....although it earned a spot in the airsoft community

I've been trying to find it as a separate product too. MasterMods' facebook page seenzoned me asking if there are any retailers for it haha. There's an out of stock listing on Tiger111HK and one of the local sellers in my country said that MM isn't really selling them solo.

Doesn't ICS include a bucking for lightweight BB with the Challenger? All the other reviews I've seen mention it. I'm really interested in that TDC Hop-up chamber though. But it doesn't seem like MasterMods will sell it as a solo product. A bit sad, but I'm not sure if it would fit original TM-slides and frames or TM-spec slides like AM for Hicapa or Guarder for 1911. I feel the itch to buy the entire thing just to get that hop chamber haha. It costs ~$200 in my country from local sellers vs. a regular TM 5.1 ~$160 but same as a Goldmatch. They recently got a huge stock of it.

    • @khlah0710

Yes there is a bucking for lighter be included plus a few other bits that weren't mentioned

  • @dnahva8965

    Bbu unit is efficient.
Red dot plate is nice feature.
    Hammer protection pad a must.
Grub screw at middle of frame is a pleasing addition.
Nice features, however. Due to the hop up….it has failed to impress me.

Actually hop up "yoke" is the most impressive feature in this pistol. If properly executed it will allow symetrical and even distribution of compression force on hop-up bucking... unlike standard TM spec arm.

Are for example the ICS Hi-Capa, the G&G hi-Capa, or Baba Yaga, or the Combat Master or the NUPROL RAVEN HI-CAPA 5.1 the best replicas for training at home for a real 2011 firearm or are there other 2011 or 1911 replicas that you guys would say hold better quality and functions to mimic a real firearm for getting drills of reloads, draws and double tap trigger control training as good as possible at home? thanks for anyone that train both with real firearms and airsoft and can give advice what guns one should look into if one want a functional replica to mimic ones real firearms training as good as possible... Happy New 23! we do Dynamic shooting and also IDPA, dynamic concealed carry competitions... but airsoft is new to us, so looking for best suggestions of quality and functions that eel and work as similar as possible when reloading, double tapping, draw and re-holster as well trigger control feel and sight picture and weight that mimic well a real firearm... thanks!

Both OOTB (TM and ICS hicapa) work well. But if you're more on the rougher side of play style, the ICS wins hands down (it also shoots hotter OOTB) because of the externals. If you're planning to make your gun your own however, the TM is the safest bet.
One minor gripe though, the slide is ok, but the controls, the slide release, slide safety, and the grip safety suck like hell, my fingers can't get enough purchase on grip to the point that my WE 5.1 controls are fucking gold compared to the shit ICS is peddling with the challenger.

  • @BikeWorkz1991

It's a shame that it cost so much money. Looks like a nice hicapa platform with good features. It would be a much better for them if the price was closer to 150. If that was the case it was probably the only ics I would ever buy again. Because I have a ics AEG and it's kinda shit

    • @UrLocalPotato22

I believe you have to switch the whole hop and barrel setup out since they are proprietary so no aftermarket barrel with stock hop or the other way around.
