More about Gianmarco:
Gianmarco Soresi is a stand-up comedian, actor, and a little too much for some people. He’s told jokes on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central, Netflix’s Bonding, Don’t Tell, The Real Housewives of New York for some reason, and he was a JFL New Face in 2022. He’s acted in Billy Crystal’s Here Today, Hustlers, The Last OG, and in his theater days shared the stage with some people who’ve gone on to become huge real estate agents. You can see him post the kind of crowdwork clips that are arguably destroying the artform of stand-up comedy everywhere @gianmarcosoresi and he obviously has a podcast called The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi.🎤

in indiana you can work at a factory farm or get a gun at the age of 12 but you can't get affirmative care of any kind, because of exactly these bigots.
nobody saif they were smart, that's why they are at your show.
Bruh could have come to Philly for my birthday on the 24 😭
Would you come to France, like Paris or Marseille??? That would be great!
No wonder he just says non-profit 😂 it makes him sound like some sort of a humanitarian do-gooder instead.
"What do you do in your spare time?"
"I volunteer in the community and host bonfire parties with friends"
"Oh cool, what's your organisation?"
"The KKK"
kinda disturbing that that's probably the point...
He says non-profit because he knows he is at a liberal comedy show and only clarifies when asked directly, it would be no different than someone at a conservative show who works for planned parenthood wanting to keep it to themselves.
Lot of crazy people out there.
@@Cloud-bs2kn"Lot of crazy people out there." And he's putting more guns in their hands.
@@AndrewLakeUK not really, your not gonna stop a bad person from arming themselves with a deadly weapon so its better to make it easier for good people to defend themselves.
If you're from the UK then you know, you ban guns and people start stabbing, then you gotta ban knives, what's next?
I enjoyed seeing the state representative’s deranged confidence in being the worst guy in the room be met with essentially a “who?”
I believe it was his friends who said that.
and they were drunk.
"Thats your lgbtqia+..... good for you keep it away from children" that was so fucking good did he come up with that on the spot? :0
right??? i can't believe that's not part of his regular set
Omfg, it was genuinely one of the best lines I've ever heard by a comedian
he definitely didn't come up with it on the spot, you can tell he was gonna get to that joke because he was already talking about being at a gun show. but one of the things Gianmarco is so good at is very naturally working his prewritten jokes into his crowd work, or working his crowd work into the story he was already telling
you can kinda tell when he gets back to his prewritten stuff tho, there's like a cadence to it, like when he's listing out types of guns - he doesn't just know those off the top of his head lol
@@Vallam23 oh that's a good point 🤔 ok slightly less impressive, but still pretty impressive 😁
@@Vallam23 yeah i figured.. still a pretty good joke tho
HE CALLED THE NRA A NON PROFIT!?!?!?! WHAT THE HELL
Also the "keep it away from the kids" was such a banger. Too bad it didn't get that many laughs
Two side of the NRA,
The Non-profit is more focused on gun safety and the other is the lobbying side.
@@lettuceman9439 Both should be disbanded
@@PsychoSinterklaasThat would heighten accidental deaths by firearms, possibly because removing funding for hunting or gun safety education isn't going to help in teaching people proper handling.
@@PsychoSinterklaas I mean gun safety is good

I have tried to explain to my mom that the trans people she doesn't like, are people she doesn't like because they suck.
Not because they're trans.
She doesn't like anyone from this particular place trans or cis, so that's clearly not the issue.
It's because they're trans. She knows why she doesn't like people. You don't.
And for the record, everyone I know who has transitioned has become a BETTER person. I know that's not universal, but if you look inside yourself for long enough that you realize all of society is calling you the wrong gender, you've got to have SOME semblance of self growth
Is nobody gonna comment on the legislator being at a comedy club with a nra-spokesman?
Pretty typical for the good old US of A
"A Legislator and an NRA Spokesman walk into a comedy club..."
Tax dollars at work. They’ll expense it on his company card
Why would we? It's not like it's unusual, just conservatives bribing government officials.
It's not unusual for a member of a lobbying group to interact with a member of government, that's their job. But this is assuming that their being together here is even an instance of "schmoozing", which I find very unlikely. If you're a lobbyist trying to schmooze a legislator, and you're both on the right side of the aisle, what are the chances your choice is "hey let's go see this prog comedian!". It's far more likely that they just either know each other in personal life, or their working relationship has already been developed for a long time prior and this is off-the-clock so to speak.
Not at all concerning that a legislator and the NRA are sitting at the same table. Nothing to see here folks.
"Not at all concerning that a legislator and the NRA are sitting at the same table. Nothing to see here folks." -- Legislators cannot be experts on every topic. They need people to educate them on the reasons to support or oppose a particular proposal, and how to answer critics when questioned about the position one has taken.'
The NAACP also does it.
@@fsilber330mmm, educating in a professional context and hanging out together at a comedy show aren't quite the same thing though.
@@fsilber330Leave it up to the 2A racists to make excuses.
@@ek-xq8tp "educating in a professional context and hanging out together at a comedy show aren't quite the same thing though." -- Work acquaintances sometimes become friends. Or do you suspect that you can bribe a Republican legislator by treating him to a comedy performance? (If so, that suggests an easy way Democrats can get their bills passed.)
@@Mark-jb9hx "Leave it up to the 2A _racists_ to make excuses." -- Yep, that's how the word is used nowadays to mean "disagrees with Progressives about something."
Makes me worry about public figures whom no one slanders that way.
Josh got some strange views... chief among them being that he genuinely seems to consider the NRA a non-profit instead of a lobbying group funded by the arms industry. But at the very least he is in fact a good sport, just like Gianmarco said. I gotta give credit where credit is due.
It’s only no profit because Wayne la Pierre took all the profits
The NRA has two divisions -- an educational foundation that promotes gun safety and training, which IS a nonprofit, and a political lobbying division which DOESN'T qualify as a nonprofit. Basic membership is to the nonprofit, but then your name is put on a mailing list that the lobbying uses to beg you for donations.
@@fsilber330 same thing, really.
@@WouldntULikeToKnow.I don’t think so
He's drinking at a comedy show trying to dodge a political question. I know nothing about the NRA but let's not be so nit-picky, perhaps
As an Indiana resident, those mall comments hit me in the feels
As a fellow Indianapolis resident, I would simply choose never to enter a mall. Ever.
It's not just our malls that suck. They all do.
Yeah I've been to the downtown Indianapolis shopping mall to go see Spy Family code White. was very surprised that everything was closed so early
The “then close the fucking store” made me spit my drink. I’ve been to a Popeyes that ran out of chicken at like 2pm so like . . . Why did you even let me wait in line to place an order
"Hands on experience" was incredible
“I work for a nonprofit … the NRA” 😂. Bro, lmfao. Of course he leads with it being a nonprofit
Who knew he was also a comedian, as a side hustle! XD
what i genuinely don't understand is the pride in their faces like "yes🦅 i work 🇺🇸🔫for the NRA😎 woooo"
I think they're proud of the non-profit part of it but come on
You could see their faces?
@@brooke_reiverrose2949 didn't have to
I mean, is it really that surprising that people who believe in a cause are proud to advocate for it? Regardless of whether you agree or disagree, that just makes sense.
Everybody in the NRA believes what they say, they're not lying. You might not agree with them, and you might even be right on some points - then again, they might be right on some points too.
Maybe we'd all be a bit better off if we treated folks like they were honest and sensible, instead of immediately demonizing them.
see, the joke is that the NRA is the worst “2A Rights” activist group in the US, they’re just the bogeyman for the media to attack while the ACTUAL activist groups do their thing
the fucking grayscale lmao
I thought a sad music was going to start playing any minute lol
A Republican NRA member watching Gianmarco is like the pope watching George Carlin - someone did not do their research before coming to the show 😅.
Hey, I'm a Life NRA member and the father of his girlfriend.
A republican watching any Comedian that isn't Tim Allen*
although, pretty sure pope francis would be into george carlin on his off-hours...
Guy's funny even if you don't agree with him all the time. Most creative types, comedians, actors, directors etc are all lefties so right wingers learn to live with consuming content that they don't always agree with. Cos it's that or never go to a comedy night ever again.
Or they did and they were fine with watching a comedian who is on the other side of the aisle. Aren't we always complaining about people begin closed-minded? Wouldn't we see it as a demerit on them if they were stubborn and staunchly unwilling to go see a "librul funny man"? So here they are, enjoying comedy from a person with different views. Not something to call into question, something to celebrate.
The pocket constitution joke was so beautifully set up and delivered.
Wow, the pocket constitution is real. I remember I got mad my mom threw mine away because I knew I wouldn’t be replacing it and I liked having the resource of the US constitution just… easily on hand to go pick apart any arguments about it (I am now a very shy queer leftist surrounded with extremely mean conservatives and alt-righters). But now I might go to the next local gun show and get a replacement. Because I don’t know a single person my age who didn’t learn about the bill of rights or the constitution in school! I’m just the only one who had to constantly defend things in it and with it because of crazy relatives (of the ones I personally know. I know there are other people who have this experience out there).
And yes I can just search it online and keep a tab open with it, but reading off paper is much easier to focus on.
Your mom threw it away? Sounds like she hates America.
She must be right-wing.
Why not just...have a PDF of it on your phone? Or hell, even a very long PNG

That washing hands joke was such a sneaky one. Great stuff
I think it's a testament to America that those people can be at your show and find it funny :) I find it great, honestly. More of this. Less echo chambers, more making fun of each other.
He didn't belittle them at all or imply they were bad people, he just made a couple of good jokes about some relevant political topics and made a silly little gag about not washing his hands.
Just want to note, "echo chambers" as we kinda think about them aren't really the problem on the internet or otherwise. People are exposed to more ideas they disagree with on the internet than on other places. It's got more to do with fundamental human psychology than the internet
@@undeniablySomeGuy
No they definitely are, though there are more variables. Even if you are exposed to an idea, if it's an environment or community that frames these ideas, events, or news stories dishonestly to reinforce the group view or bias.
The group simply discredit and attack anyone who exposes contradictory views. They do the same to experts or institutions. Sure they're exposed to the information, but were they discuss and consume it allows them to ignore it.
This also extends to algorithms that tend to curate based on what you watch, which very often creates suggested content that reinforces previously held beliefs.
Echo chambers are part of fundamental human psychology. It's simply a tactic to avoid cognitive dissonance.
@@undeniablySomeGuy
the internet, or rather, social media platforms, as well as search engines, are advertising money driven and are engineered from the ground up based on taking advantage of human psychology.
@@undeniablySomeGuy also some "echo chambers" are just straight up safe spaces
THEY ARE FINE TO HAVE
Nth wrong inherently with echo chambers as OP implies
Its what it echoes that matters
Ofc it's also good if you're not only exclusively in spaces that are insular, exposure is good and necessary for making change
But having insular spaces in and of itself is not a bad thing
A room full of people with fundamental differences to yourself and you still had 'em cackling. Had me cackling too!

Did you stand against 'To Kill a Mockingbird' being banned in California districts, would you do that now?
I don't believe you quite understand what book burning refers to, especially given that in most of the world it's impossible to undertake for the reasons it was effective.
Let's be honest, you don't really believe that literature restriction shouldn't exist because there will always be material you believe is too evil to exist in public or private hands.

You got it right though man...most people have a problem with someone they know and it extends to a whole entire culture....nah that person's just a douche. Don't hate the culture because of one douchebag. Or even because of the loudest douchebags...the culture is not what it is ever portrayed as...just talk to people and ask honest questions.
