Excellent info, is there a specific reason you throw the scud with a fly rod instead of with the spinning setup (fly, float and splitshot) I've seen you use before?
Generally you want the scud on the bottom. If the rocks aren’t caked with algae, you can add to the depth and really drag the bottom. Scuds live in the rocks so Trout are always looking down, digging. But they will take a scuds off the bottom… scuds do swim. I’m always adjusting my indicator, trying to find that perfect depth.

I don't ever get up there much... may be a couple of times in the spring. Don't have the equipment for bass. Now crappie is another thing!
