I used to live in Pitman New Jersey, about 45 min. by bus to Philly. I used to work in Center City Philly and commute every from Pitman to Philly. I love working in Philly. People are friendly and one of my happiest working days was in Philly. Now I live on the Jersey shore and it is too far for me to commute to Philly. I still go there sometimes, and I enjoyed going there just to shop and eat at the Reading Terminal or the Gallery. I do not like to live in Philly because I love living near the water. Still, Philly is one of my favorite places to visit.
I always wanted to do some traveling. and seeing these places on the internet is making me want to travel more. I've been to Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC. Los Vegas so on.....I want to travel the world and I will.
Where in Philly? I was visiting a friend in Wynnefield Heights west of the city not long ago. Love driving along Kelly Drive seing the river and the surrounding green spaces
Philly looks like a city that hasn't lost its character over the decades. NYC & DC, and many other places are gentrifying so fast that it must take a lot out of what those cities used to be. I believe NYC is the greatest city in the world, and that DC is a great city too, but these places probably aren't the same as they were decades before. Philly looks like if you've been there in the 80s and came back today, you'd see that not much has changed. That's probably the thing I love most about the city! I really hope I visit the city one day!
Julius Escano Asian cities hold far more importance these days, as bad as it is to say, they are the primary source of our industry. And London attracts more tourists than NYC these days. Sure NY is one of the largest cities in the world and attracts millions of tourists but it's a long way off being one of the nicest cities in the world. Like the other guy said, I find it quite depressing. Philly has everything NY has without the massive crowds, rude people and ugly buildings. Plus, the weather is a bit nicer down there...
The Sky line has changed a lot. currently, the Comcast innovation and technology center is being built and will be almost as tall as the Empire State building!
You've done a good job fixing the music up. This is much better then when it was uploaded it had fast paced music that didn't fit. Travel videos do not need to be 'hip or chic' as the other channel thinks.
I live in Philadelphia and you said everything correctly i travel a lot around America to Seattle Chicago and Miami etc but Philly will always be the best Fairmount park is the biggest park in America bigger than NYC Central Park
Hi @Expedia - hope you can update this very soon. Great Video! I recently relocated to San Diego from Philly and this video makes me miss my home town. God do I miss the the Reading Market. FYI its pronounced "REDING"
I am from Philly and have lived in San Diego {now in Virginia}, all I can say is keep Philly in your memories Bro! You gotta admit those burritos are pretty damn good too.
I had a surprisingly entertaining time in Philly. if you're travelling through the States, it's a great place to start. It is the seat of the birth of the USA after all! Here are my crazy experiences in words and pictures: wp.me/p4iLrw-bv
So interesting! Thank you for the travel tips. I heard good things about terminal market from a local friend, and will be excited to try those cheese steaks!
Expedia, I think some good videos you could make include ones for places like Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Tampa, Charleston, Savannah or Virginia Beach
I love Me some Philadelphia mostly since it is my city along with N.Y.C and Los Angeles I just love lots of American Cities especially Philly more than other world cities
I'm from the UK and hoping to visit my girlfriend who I'm in a long distance relationship with as soon as possible and I'm afraid I mightve been bored and confused as to what I should do when I visit, so thanks for that 😊👍
What about LOVE park?! I love this city. Never got a chance to visit properly, though. Unless you count being stationed in the airport for a couple of hours proper :-) I'd relish the opportunity to come back and do it the right way!
Yeah agreed. Philadelphia only recently became a major city, most new skyscrapers are built after 1990. The tallest US building outside Chicago and NY is here.
Ilipan I'm sorry but the first part of your paragraph isn't true. Philly's been a major city for hundreds of years. You are correct however that a lot of Philly's tallest buildings were built after 1990.
WHAT ABOUT OUR CHEESESTEAKS?!?!?! Also died a little inside when I heard the way "reading" was pronounced. I'll be the first to admit we're not the greatest city in the world, but in the US we're second to none in our passion for our city and have some of the greatest American history.

I am from Sweden and I've been thinking to move to America for a very very long time. Philadelphia seems like a very nice place, one of the places I could see myself living in! Other cities are Boston in Massachisetts and Atlanta in the cool south. Houston in Texas seems like a nice place as well. Obviously I don't know much about these cities but I would just like to know how safe and good these places are to live?
Philadelphia is one of the most dangerous cities in the USA, unless you are in downtown area it is dangerous and poor all around. Boston is a great city but is expensive; no extreme crime to worry about. Atlanta is improving lots recently and is becoming less dangerous so that is doable also. For Texas, I would recommend Dallas over Houston. Houston is more international but Dallas is less dangerous and more down to earth I believe. There are lots of cities in the USA to choose from!
@@akupuppy12 ok thanks! Yeah there are so many cities there! But I had no idea Philadelphia was so dangerous, some parts probably bad but I guess that is the thing with every city. Ok but good to hear that Atlanta is improving! I like the south but also Texas. Dallas or Atlanta more expensive?
@@danielrsson2171 Atlanta is more expensive than Dallas in general, but not big difference. What are you looking for in the US? City life in an apartment? Or living in a nice house in the suburbs outside of a city? Do you want to be near a big city?
@@danielrsson2171 All cities of course have good and bad areas, but Philadelphia has an abnormally high amount of those bad areas, but closer to downtown is doable of course (I personally wouldn't)
@@akupuppy12 well I would like to live in a nice apartment near one of the bigger cities, not necessarily the cities that most tourists go to. I think that New York for example, and also LA are cities everyone knows or been to. I want to check out the cities that are a bit less known, because let's face it USA is so much more than NYC and LA (although I am sure they both are very nice places). I would like someplace in the south in particular, I have always been drawn to that part, seems really beautiful and nice - plus the weather is better year around. So a big city somewhere between Texas and Georgia! And when I say near, I am talking about maybe within an hour of driving from the city. But also parts of New England is very beautiful, and the biggest city there is undoubtedly Boston! But maybe the south is a bit more interesting!
On one of my visits to Philly, I asked a SEPTA bus driver for directions to the market and pronounced it the incorrect way. Unless you're from the area, you won't know how to pronounce it. Just like tourists pronounce Houston Street in NYC incorrectly.
One correction. The correct pronunciation of Reading Terminal is the same as the city to the NW of Philly - “Red ( like the color) - ing” and not how you enjoy a book.
