The reason it might be on Tuesday the 18th this time is because the 19th is an American holiday, Juneteenth, which Nintendo honors because of their NOA division.

This is why you shouldn't shadowdrop things. Things get leaked and surprises get ruined. That happened once when a Direct had to be delayed due to a natural disaster in Japan. There were a couple of games that all of the sudden whent live on the eShop the day that Direct was originally schedule to air
If the leaked announcement had said "available in a week" or even 2 or 3, it still would have gotten people doing the math.
18th makes sense, it won’t be on the 19th since that is a national holiday (Juneteenth).

I think it’s going to be on the 19th because it was on a Wednesday last year, so I think it’s this upcoming Wednesday the 19th. 😊

Nintendo loves making us wait, which is why I'm predisposed to saying it'll be the week of the 26th. However, it seems like things are lining up.
Why would a scheduled update for a single game indicate the date for an entire showcase? Lol

The only things that looked good to me in the Xbox show were Doom and MGS Delta, so it won't be hard for the Nintendo Direct to surpass it.

@@keeysOST As far as I can tell, it seems like Bayo Origins was developed by the 'B Team' of Platinum while the main team was making Bayonetta 3
Bigger and better then Xbox? I really don't think Xbox did all that amazing lol. They did okay.
they did fine but yeah a lot of those games don't really appeal to me, not a Gears fan or Metal Gear really... the new Doom looks great, seems Prime 4 now got it's work cut out.. but Call of Duty I don't care, never played Fable and Perfect Dark also wouldn't mind trying out but nothing mindblowing overall...
@@abjames3098 Most of what they showed was CGI trailers, with no gameplay, most of their games all blend together, if you played them all back to back without anything to divide up the trailers, you would have a hard time realizing oh this is a different game. Plus most are 2025 games....or worse, further then that lol. Doom is neat, Gears should have stopped after 3. Fable and stuff is meh. I really don't like the main character in the new Fable, it looks "non-binary" It was a guy, then a girl, but now I can't even tell. Just an ugly character.

I don’t think it’s cope to say it could still happen at literally any time. Nintendo often gives only one day of advance warning for these things. Leakers shouldn’t be taken at their word so easily, even the ones who are consistently right.

@@JakeYolk That much is true. I think we’ve passed the point where a Wednesday direct for this week would be announced today, but you never know. Nintendo likes to be weird and do things with zero advance warning.

I do agree that it's most likely on the 18th of june HOWEVER ive recently learned that in the US, the 19th is a federal holiday, so it can be either the 18th or 20th so theres that i guess.
This June direct for Nintendo I think is going to be interesting because the switch is nearing its end very soon including when the next console comes out. The time for big games coming out for the switch is somewhat over. I think smaller tiles of newer games like that peach games and more remakes and remasters for the switch I think for this year and the rest of the years that the switch has left when the next console is revealed and out to the public. There are probably going to be some games that will be for the switch and the next console, whatever that next console for Nintendo is anyway. Nintendo probably have somewhat moved their more big games like a new Mario kart, 3d Mario, and whatnot to the next console by now. It’s been a wild ride for the switch era as we near its end. Some good moments and some bad moments.
As well as some good directs and years and some not good directs and a some drought years for the switch. Including all of the switch games that have come out whether they be new games, ports, remakes, and remasters. I remember getting the switch in the last two weeks of June in 2018 when I was 21 years old and which I’m 27 right now. I never looked back after I got the switch. Many things happened in my life since 2018 and getting the switch like my biological grandfather dying on my mom’s side of the family in 2018 since I had two grandfathers on my mom’s side and then my grandmother dying on my dad side of the family in 2023. They both died to different types of cancer in both of those years in their 70’s. The switch has been a huge success for Nintendo since 2017 when it released. And now it’s time to look towards the future of Nintendo.

Pyoro has yet to be wrong, so he's definitely earned my listen. I still like to take what he says with a grain of salt, just in case, but he hasn't been wrong yet.
I can't speak much on Nate, other than how I've not found him to be nearly as reliable as Pyoro. Allegedly, he has gotten some things right, to the point that what he says should be considered (though not outright accepted as true).

@dragulouse2219 Do you remember what it was specifically? I do recall times he was close to being wrong, but it turned out he was right after all. I don't recall any times he's been outright wrong though, let alone any reactions about it, though my memory may be failing there.

What about Metroid Prime 4?
They had plenty of opportunity to shadowdrop the among us update at all these previous events. They had a whole week of opportunities and no events are happening next week Im pretty sure its the 18th.
Could among us be waiting for no event to shadowdrop sure but im willing to believe its part of a direct.

I am way more hyped for Nintendo's direct verses the horrible Xbox show case. The games at the Xbox show case just were meh nothing exciting or hype. Now Nintendo has that hype appeal depending on what gane ips are shown.
Just to clarify no Xbox showcase will ever be hype in my opinion until a new Banjo Kazooie is shown off. Haha
Between Switch 2 beging announced and it having backward compatibility with Switch, June direct more than likely will be ports and very few new IP's.
I just hope Super Mario Galaxy 2 gets revealed at the Direct. Then I can play it in July this year.

My question is does this direct have to match up to the XBox showcase? It’s the last one for the Switch, probably just rounding out the remainder of the year, just need to give people enough for this year and that’s it. Xbox has been losing a lot of good faith from its own base, it needed a banger showcase
The only way I see the Nintendo Direct living up to or outdoing the Xbox showcase is if they show off Metroid Prime 4 and Silksong. Other than that, I'm not seeing it happening, though to me it doesn't need to since this is the last year or so of switch 1 and it's been a slow year for them.
...and a 2D zelda.

I've honestly lost faith in the Metroid franchise, even of Metroid Prime 4 is a flawless masterpeace, will be lucky if it even sells as much as Kirby and the Forgotten Land let alone Breath of the Wild level sales.
