I like it when cats move in, it means they think they can really live with you. I'm a new subscriber and i shared to other artist friends here in the south of France, near Perpignan. Im just working on a rainwater catchment system after our river was drained by local cow farmers this summer. I'm on grid just about, but have solar and can be off grid. I use Starlink for communications. Im enjoying watching your build. Jo in France 🇫🇷
Hi Kirsty, looks like you've been very busy. I've missed loads of your videos, my mum died in August and i just haven't felt up to watching any of UA-cam but have been saving each video youve put out to my watch later playlist cause ive always enjoyed your videos so currently have about 16 videos to catch up on. Great that you are finally going to get a window in, will hopefully make a big difference in the winter months. Looks like 2025 is going to be the year of the tool shed eh 🤣🤣
I’m sorry to hear about your mum. 😕 Ya 2025 will be shed and shower focused, I hope! I’m looking forward to the change of seasons and let’s see what happens. 🙂
@PortugalfromScratch Thanks Kirsty, still doesn't feel real, still find myself going to call her then that pain of it hits me all over again 😪 Think I'll have a Portugal from Scatch binge day tomorrow. Xx
Your trees look much better after their branch cut. You remind me of the little train that could. You simply power on and things happen. Onwards and upwards. Looking forward to October. Must admit you confused me with your timeline, I was relieved that you figured it out and that I hadnt lived an extra month unknowingly
Your monthly updates are just a great way to see your actual progress. Sometimes progress is so gradual and you think that not much is getting down (speaking for myself). I just love your videos and sense of humor! Rock on. (Get it? ROCK on… I’m just too funny! 😂 not really. )
You put in a very good September- lots of work and lots of fun- nicely balanced! Blown away by your window journey- you’re very exacting, and it is really paying off so far! (I’m sure it will be great once the glass, screen, and shutters are in) Well done!
I love my battery clippers too! Just took care of all my tomato plants (have maybe another week I can leave them in the outside sun) but will need to strip the plants middle of next week probably. Also got my scrubs cut back for winter…. Love those clippers ❤️🇨🇦
Kristi what a great accomplishment to have made such great progress with that window. The blue tarp must have made the inside so dark. It will even look good.
Great job on the window! It’ll look great when it’s done. I love the clippers of joy for trimming branches! Could you use some of the larger trimmings for firewood or at least kindling? Those butternut squashes looked so good. It’s my favorite winter squash.
Yes, can we have summer again? You got a lot of stuff done and most importantly are on your way to having a window which should be nicer for the winter.
I have loved watching you work on the window and I am amazed at how well it has turned out. Also, you did excellent work triming the tree next to your house.
Wow ,a lot of stuff done last month. Big things, especially the window.❤ still my favourite ❤❤❤❤ And that tool.....yahaaaw. Going to have all the trees bold in no time lol😂
Am loving the window. Brussel sprouts are o.k. now as an adult, halve them toss in olive oil, diced bacon and garlic put a lid on them after a while for a bit of steam to soften them. Down south garlic goes in around st Patrick’s day and out around Melbourne cup!first week of November.
Definitely do at least garlic for winter garden. I put it down in November and never look at it again till it’s ready to harvest. Love fresh garlic nothing compares. Btw… garlic flower stem pesto I heard is amazing. Something to consider since you love pesto. 😊
Good afternoon Swapping pumpkins for tomatoes, that's subsistence farming like it used to be in rural Portugal. I know it well, my family did this, they also exchanged workdays, that's how agriculture was done 50 or 60 years ago.
I like those recap videos, it nicely summarize what happened and gives a rough outlook what comes next. Looking forward to more window action on Friday.
I love the window, it just looks fab, however, I think Success has phytophera, it’s a fungus disease that’s why Success has black marks on her trunk. She may survive but she won’t fruit very well and you run the risk of other plants getting it.
No idea! I'll prepare it so I can block it off if it'll take awhile but he's bee on vacation and then out of his workshop... I meant to contact him today but got busy with a firewood delivery so hoping to get chatting tomorrow. 🙂
You got so much done last month. The window is looking amazing. I can't wait to see it when it's finished. How fun to have a friend that wants to take over the garden for the winter. Are you going to go to Scotland this month?
Great recap! Do you have to clean out the stove pipe before the winter or does that happen at the end of winter? Always fun to see if your wood burned clean-ish
Haha I wasn't aware that I talk in a funny way but maybe my accent is weird? I left Canada in 2001 and have lived in many places... otherwise, no idea! 😆
Another great video Kirsty, well done. Gutted to have missed the sheep festa, I love sheep which village was it in ? Hopefully will catch it next year.
I do love you monthly reviews. I think the window really showcased you skills which are quite impressive. Great work done.
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🍾
Glad to hear that! This project has been a challenge but I've enjoyed it, especially learning a few new things along the way. 🙂

Window opening looks beautiful. Game changer.
Thanks!

Haha ya that loss of a month caught me totally by surprise! I think the tree next to the house will be ok... way less creepy!
Your videos are always great viewing! I enjoy watching to tackle all tasks big and small. Your determination to figure something out is amazing.
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying them! 😀
Each wonderful new thing you do to your place makes it more beautiful.
Slow and steady! 😀
There must be so much light inside now! So kick ass, congrats 🎉
There is and I love it!

Har hat har, hilarious! 😁 Ya I like the recaps too… it’s nice to look back at things to see the progress!

Ya even though I’ve put a lot of work in, it still feels like the actual window is far off. Meeting him tomorrow for a chat, though! 😀
Hi Kirsty! Always love your videos and living vicariously through you
Cool, thanks for watching!
I love my battery clippers too! Just took care of all my tomato plants (have maybe another week I can leave them in the outside sun) but will need to strip the plants middle of next week probably. Also got my scrubs cut back for winter…. Love those clippers ❤️🇨🇦
Ooh tomato pruning! Nice! Ya I live mine!!
Thank youuu for all the content you give . Loving the window . It will make all the difference to your tiny house
It really will, thanks!
You are such a cool, positive person, it always makes me smile when I see you've uploaded another video 😁
Ah that's really nice, thanks!
Kristi what a great accomplishment to have made such great progress with that window. The blue tarp must have made the inside so dark. It will even look good.
Thanks! Ya it feels great that I’ll finally get this done!
Kirsty,you are inspiring ❤
😀
I love ❤ my Kebtec, I do a lot of pruning....thanks to you for recommending the product! 😊
Your window is going to look amazing! 🌻
I'm glad you also love it!
Great job on the window! It’ll look great when it’s done. I love the clippers of joy for trimming branches! Could you use some of the larger trimmings for firewood or at least kindling? Those butternut squashes looked so good. It’s my favorite winter squash.
Thanks! I’m so happy with the window so far. 😀 I could trim some off for kindling before burning. I’ll investigate!
Great September I hope October is kind to you and your window is completed enjoying the videos take care
Me too, thanks very much!
Yes, can we have summer again? You got a lot of stuff done and most importantly are on your way to having a window which should be nicer for the winter.
Haha I'd never ask for a repeat of the Portuguese summer... I love the winter. 😁 Firewood came today... now I need the window!
@@PortugalfromScratch can’t say I blame you considering the heat you have to put up with. But a southern Ontario summer is a thing of beauty.
Love watching you work with wood and lime, thank you for answering my questions Sunday night 😊
Glad to hear that, my pleasure!
It’s been a momentous month Kirsty. Well done and fun as always. Thank you for sharing your life with us 🙏🏽
My pleasure, it really has been!
You got lots accomplished in September. That is great. I find that the firewood for the winter is always a lot of work.
It is but it arrived a couple of hours ago... it's too short for stacking so it's in a massive pile and that's ok with me!
I have loved watching you work on the window and I am amazed at how well it has turned out. Also, you did excellent work triming the tree next to your house.
Thanks! The tree chop seemed a bit drastic but I think it'll be ok!
Wow ,a lot of stuff done last month.
Big things, especially the window.❤ still my favourite ❤❤❤❤
And that tool.....yahaaaw.
Going to have all the trees bold in no time lol😂
Haha yep! The trees need to be afraid! 😁
September was a life rich month. Congratulations on the window work. So far so beautiful. Cheers
Thanks! Ya it was a good month!
It's coming along beautifully 😍
Thank you!
Great work done on your property 👍
Thanks!

I've tried Brussels sprouts covered in cheese and bacon and still didn't like them so I think there's no hope for me! 😁
I love the window so far, I feel so less claustrophobic for you now! 😂😂
Ya me too! Time to finish this thing off! 😀
Definitely do at least garlic for winter garden. I put it down in November and never look at it again till it’s ready to harvest.
Love fresh garlic nothing compares.
Btw… garlic flower stem pesto I heard is amazing. Something to consider since you love pesto. 😊
I love easy gardening and the idea of home grown garlic is so nice!
Good afternoon
Swapping pumpkins for tomatoes, that's subsistence farming like it used to be in rural Portugal.
I know it well, my family did this, they also exchanged workdays, that's how agriculture was done 50 or 60 years ago.
Hi! Very cool! I love to barter and I made some very tasty tomato chutney last night and there's some butternut squash soup on the way tonight. 😀
Lots to do. I love when your parents come and help. When are they going to move to Portugal. Lol.
Love the beginningbof the month.
Not until May! 😬
A successful month of September! Love the window progress. The pruner is a real help with your olives.
Thanks and ya, that tool is going to be great!
I like those recap videos, it nicely summarize what happened and gives a rough outlook what comes next. Looking forward to more window action on Friday.
Thanks for the great feedback! I like to use them as a sort of diary for me, too. 🙂
Yay!🎉
😀

Hmm... can she be saved? Thanks for the tip, I'll look it up and see what we can do!
❤
😀
So how long will it take to get your window installed? He really did beautiful work at that other house. Some exciting stuff coming up, eh.🙂👍👍🇨🇦
No idea! I'll prepare it so I can block it off if it'll take awhile but he's bee on vacation and then out of his workshop... I meant to contact him today but got busy with a firewood delivery so hoping to get chatting tomorrow. 🙂

How fun to have a friend that wants to take over the garden for the winter. Are you going to go to Scotland this month?
Ya I’m happy to see how excited she is for her first garden adventure! No the Scotland trip was postponed.
Hi❤
Hi!
❤❤love your recaps 🇨🇦😎
Great! 😀
Great recap! Do you have to clean out the stove pipe before the winter or does that happen at the end of winter? Always fun to see if your wood burned clean-ish
Thanks! I’ll clean the flue out before my first fire but maybe it’s not so bad as i think I burned better fires last winter. I’m curious to see!
You beautiful ginger thank you
He's a great cat!
@@PortugalfromScratch yes my ginger
so... Brexit worked, right?
good luck! 🤠😎
No idea. 🙂
Why do you talk in a funny way. What did you do before coming to Portugal and becoming a UA-camr ?
Haha I wasn't aware that I talk in a funny way but maybe my accent is weird? I left Canada in 2001 and have lived in many places... otherwise, no idea! 😆
Another great video Kirsty, well done. Gutted to have missed the sheep festa, I love sheep which village was it in ? Hopefully will catch it next year.
Thanks! It's in Alpedrinha, second weekend of September for three days. 🙂
