Well, THAT was absolutely delightful!! I hope you are able to rescue your VHS performances and get them transferred to digital before any of them degrade any further. There seem to be so many gems that I missed when they originally aired! Your voice in this video blew me away, despite the loss of sound quality on the tape. Nickname was "hockey stop" when i was into ice skating.. Whitley Warriors , they're still going 😅😅😅😅 bloody long time ago. Don't pretend to be an ice skate dancer, but every move on the ice fitted the songs .

Interesting timing for a vlog...the World Championships are happening now! I take it since It's Time came before Gold that this was before Kristi skated to Gold at The Olympics. I remember seeing this (I have a cousin that was in the Ice Capades and I went to a lot of her lessons because I stayed there a lot growing up. Have followed ice shows over the years.). I am so glad you had this recording. It's Time has always been my favorite CD.. a (Grammy worthy) vocal master class in vocal style!! You had excellent camera time on this ..looking and sounding fabulous! I can totally get that Big Time would be so much fun to skate to...lots of attitude and music with big moments and footwork style. ( I love every inch of that CD, but always wished that they mixed it with the volume down a pinch on that last It's Time note...so much power! ) Thanks for posting this...love it!

Future is looking very bright for AI that will help to restore quality. It can do wonders already when trained properly. I think that's the way to go for old recordings.

If you'd like, I can send you an email with thoughts on burning VHS tapes to DVDs versus transferring the VHS output to digital computer files (.mov, .mp4). Some advantages to both, but I can convey a few ideas on this you may find useful.
@@lindaederofficialyoutube It's tricky, because a VHS machine in bad shape can in fact break or wrinkle tapes. Best to get one from someone who believes it is in good shape, and then test it on a few expendable VHS tapes before putting in the precious ones. I would not trust one from a thrift shop.
This is not the place to go on about it, but it's also important that the video playback heads on a VHS machine can get clogged (with iron oxide particles shedding from tapes), resulting in a screen full of "snow" (video noise largely obscuring the picture) -- even though the tape may be ok. So head cleaning is in order before discarding a tape as unusable. More details if you are interested...

It was so much fun. I've sung a few times for Skaters and it is always a thrill to be on the ice when they skate.

Don't toss any old VHS tapes until you have tried playback on more than one VHS machine. Some may be more tolerant to the heat deterioration.
