About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

I love it when Edith gives it to Archie
Jean Stapleton was such a brilliant actor. she made us feel like Edith was a real person. what a great show it was.
Actress.. actors are male.
Edith IS real.
Yes there were a lot of women that were just like her.@@ronfowlermusic
@@Nunofurdambiznez They are all actors. Actor is the better, more neutral term for a performer. One wouldn't say "Plumberess" or "Doctoress".
@@EVIL-C Here's the lib, folks.
She is Edith, hear her roar 🦁 ♥️
That was the beginning of Edith standing up for herself. That was a great episode
Nah,
Archie is the brains of this operation.
That's when the show started to lose its edge.
"@mstewart61" The way Edith was presented in following episodes this was not really the first time she stood up for herself , only in the way that Mike and Gloria set her up to do it with "no gunny sacking" or "hitting below the belt" which are concepts that Edith did not grow up with.
There was once an episode in which Edith told Gloria and Mike about how she told Archie off when Gloria was still a baby. It was when Archie was gambling and/or drinking too much early in their marriage and Edith said she dressed Gloria up and told Archie she would take Gloria and leave if he does not get on the right track
@@lilajagears8317 The show lasted several years after this one episode so there were many years of edgeless episodes then.

Gotta love Edith!!!!
I loved Edith, especially the time she told him to stifle!
2:15, I love these old shows. Nothing on TV in 2022 matches All In The Family. LOL!
Yes don't you know it. We needed to laugh 😃 at this time in the world.
Poor Archie-he almost didn’t make it out of Edith’s “change” the last time! 🤣🤣🤣
I love this show...i wish they made tv shows like this .......i have cable and nothing to watch.....You go Edith!!!
The funniest episode of any tv sitcom was when edith described the can of kling peaches jumping out of her cart and hitting someone's car. My stomach hurt from laughing.
Erick Evans or the one where she got banned from Willingtons department store bcuz she stole a wig...on accident..she decided she was a kleppamaniac...I die every time I listen to her tell the story of her aunt Gertrude being a klepper and how she'd recently dreamed her aunt stole her mother's sewing machine and she was riding it like a bicycle...for some reason miss gulch from the wizard of oz comes to mind when she says that...lmmfao
Erik Evans, the can of kling peaches in heavy syrup! 😂
I loved that episode also. 😃
Yes, I love that episode too! It's also really funny when she's not allowed to say "cling peaches" so she kind of hums the words without opening her mouth🤣

Maybe the best TV show ensemble cast ever!
My favorite television 📺 show of all time. I never tire of watching the reruns.
I just noticed this but immediately after Edith took away the cake from Archie cuz it was for dessert, she passed it to Gloria who passed it to Mike who ate a piece when they weren't looking.
I love the the good old shows 😌
This was My high school TV show watching with My Family. Those were the days.
Jean Stapleton was a treasure. Just brilliant.
One of the best sitcoms In television history. In my opinion the best sitcom of the 70s
"@jonbailey5697" it had its ups and downs
One of the greatest actors of sll time.
Two of the greatest.
@@DanJackson1977
Yes, you are correct, I was omitting the great Jean Stapleton.
@@DanJackson1977 Yes.
"Are you going through the change again?"
He said EXACTLY what I was thinking! 😂😂😂
You’re a sexist too?
Archie are you going through the change Again 😆
Love you Edith & Archie 💗🧸👑🎺📯🌠💎
I'm 62. I also used to watch these shows they never get old. Unfortunately the problems that we had then are still around. But I will never forget the episode where Gloria is showing Edith her new home and Edith said something about oh my gosh look at your neighbors they keep passing that cigarette around
Yes, and the look on Archie's face afterwards, hilarious!
She was so sweet
A man could only hope to find a woman like her. ❤️❤️
This is a hoot!
I am 100% on Edith’s side of this argument!
Coming from a Man.

Why? I take it you’re not the king of your castle. Nobody I don’t like is welcome at my house. Archie is never king though.
@@wallacepemberton932 yikes i kinda didn’t like this. there’s a difference between not wanting someone in your home because of valid reasons (animosity toward spouse/you, mistreating the kids, etc.) and just simply not liking someone, especially if it’s your spouse’s family. there shouldn’t ever be a “king”, marriage and home should be a group effort between both spouses, literally and figuratively.
@@s0urpatchkiddo is your name really K? Your profile pic is interesting. Im very serious here, not trying to be offensive but what about you should make me think any differently about you or your opinion than I do about the poster I was commenting on? All in the family was a brilliant sitcom with brilliant actors and the chemistry between them was amazing, they complimented each other it was my favorite show of all
You go Edith
Archie's expressions are priceless!
Still watching good old sitcoms.. better than what's on these days..
'Ya neva tawk ta strangers on da subway Eat-it......specially when you're carryin' this kinda dough!' 😂🤣
'Why are we gonna fight?' 'So we can be closer than ever and stay happily married!' 'Are you goin' through the change again?' 🤣😂😁
I distinctly remember my Father falling out of his big chair when Archie asked about the change. He couldn't stop laughing.
@@briankooker2627 Not MY father dude. The 'big chair' was my mothers! LOL My father always sat on the end of sofa closest to the television! Come to think of it, they were like all in the family reversed. My mother was the bigoted conservative republican and my father was a moderate democrat. LOL
Finding 20 dollars then is like finding $108.66 now in 2022 :/
Just looked it up and it would be worth about $139 in 2024.
Need more shows like that now
thats like finding a 100 dollar bill today
This was one of the funniest shows on TV. Norman Lear- Genius!
I never heard Archie mention Philly before;
Case closed!
I'm the only one who closes cases around here!
👍👍👍👍Edith
Christ, archie reminds me so much of my late father.
Now presenting, for the first time, Ms. Edith Bunker.
This was and still is my very favorite show, but I gotta say that
Little House On The Prairie is a close 2nd.
I love little house on the prairie it’s my favourite tv show!
Sanford and son is my number 1 show, this is my 2nd, too bad they didn't do a show together, imagine what that would of been like
LOL!!! WHAT!??? Little House on the Prairie??? dude, come on.. that has to be a joke, right?
2:14 so mean, but so funny💯💯
2:12 .......good ol' pop tops......Where would Jimmy Buffet be without one of them and a blown out flip-flop??
(Just My Opinion), Edith reminds me so much of "Vera" on "Alice" (Dinghy), when she behaves the way she does.
Priceless
This show was really good.
“Are you going through the change again?!”

Funniest show ever.
I loved the way Gloria pushed Edith to speak up for herself. Archie treated her more like property than a wife.

Greatest damn television show ever. 2nd would be the Honeymooners.
My daddy used to say case closed like archie and it ticked me off.
I didn't like the way Gloria yelled @ her mother, I understand that she wants her mom to stand up for herself , maybe it's just me but it's sounded abrasive.
you can’t really blame her though. she got archie’s mouth 🤣 meanwhile edith is much more demure
@@s0urpatchkiddo true
I agree, although at least here she had Edith's best interests at heart. That wasn't always the case. One of the few complaints I have about "All in the Family" is the evolvement of the Gloria character. At the start of the series, she was a young, somewhat giddy girl, who grew to become a strong, informed woman. But with the episode "The Battle of the Month" at the end of the third season (in which Gloria actually accuses Edith of being a "nothing"), she became increasingly obnoxious and abusive. I find some of the episodes of season six to be almost unwatchable, because Gloria is downright nasty to Mike during her pregnancy. Sure, Archie could be nasty, but at least he was funny. Gloria was not.
@@TruthHoles yeah i hate the Gloria pregnancy episodes, i undestand her hormones were making her cranky but that is no excuse for her nasty behavior
@@TruthHolesToo funny, if I had to live with a selfish meathead like Mike I would be nasty too.

Woke Edith is awesome.
She’s not woke. She’s a typical married woman.
Archie’s the brains of this operation. Anybody listen to Edith for two minutes knows this
@@T1000skynetforever She is the low key BOSS of Archie......So is Gloris.
Sadly Archie finally realizes this with Edith's stroke.
I’d forgotten about the different standard of English.

Great find Archie, figuring for inflation that's like finding $50.00 today :)
No.. actually in today's 2022 money, that 20 dollar bill equates to $110.00.

Edith always defied Archie. She’s the white version of Weezy Jefferson.
Always? Most of the time she was an obedient doormat.
Better than Seinfeld.

She should of put him out of the house lol for a bit for a little until he does right lol
Nah its his house too.
Ioved the time that she damaged a car with can of peaches 🍑 in heavy syrup
A classic episode!!
This would never occur today. Women today would never put up with Archie.
$20 was worth $800,000 back then.
Your math is way off
She had to learn to fight a fair fight. We were taught never to negate a man back then. It took me 25 years to learn to say no in my life. Took me 5 years to learn tovsrand up to m hubby. Better for it, too.
The powerful position cytochemically squash because cardboard orly present throughout a dynamic karen. determined, tiresome greece
Good LORD how much crack do you do in one day?? WOW
Dingbat
tv sucks these days.
Watching these shows now in 2022 and you realize how ridiculous they were.
I don't like it when Edith stands up to Archie
Why? Archie’s usually wrong.
why not? i love it when i see her sticking up for herself and using her voice when she feels something isn’t right or she feels disrespected because usually she’s so demure and easy-breezy
You won't like me either because if I feel something is not right or uncomfortable, Ima say someyhing. I do not have to be rude or blunt, but I only got one life to live and I am not going to be stomped on like tap dancing on a caving in floor. Man may be the head of the woman, but does not mean everything has to be 100% his eay.
Myself, 46, and learned to be grateful to still be single after a couple decades wishing I was married. I refuse to be seen and treated like property or less than human, even less than an animal.
Edit: Eve was made from Adams's rib, not his feet. So, made equally.
LOL dude.. you sure got some folks "triggered" with your comment! Great job!
@@NunofurdambiznezSo now when someone doesn’t agree they are automatically triggered?😂
