I finally figured out how to change my UA-cam display name, so I changed it to PPF so that there would be some consistency between my channel name and my artist name on iTunes/Amazon/etc. I was getting a lot of messages inquiring about the availability of my tracks on Spotify, so hopefully this'll help to clear up some confusion. Also, I will now be less embarrassed when people ask me what my UA-cam channel is in real life. Don't worry though, I will always be PoopPoopFart deep down inside.

I've listened to the Chrono Trigger soundtrack about a million times, and this is the first time I noticed that the descending scale in this song is the same as the one in "Battle with Magus."
You can hear it in all zeal themes, and even Wind Scene....

I just randomly found this Schala's theme cover and it was so perfect, presice rythm with drums and everything. And finding out what PPF stands for just makes me like you more :D
You are so far ahead of the curve when it comes to sound quality~ your style of arranging/choosing instruments and production value never ceases to amaze. The fife + xaphoon + sopranino recorder combination is beautiful.

Thanks man, I'm glad you like it! Yeah, that combination of instruments ended up sounding pretty neat! I'm still impressed how nice that Aulos sopranino sounds considering how cheap it was.
Your instruments sound great! This may be asking for too much, but I am in the market for these kind of instruments as well. Can you tell me the models of those instruments you are using? (Fife, xaphoon, sopranino). There are a few choices for each.
I found a Yamaha YRF-21 Fife in C for $9, xaphoon XAPH Maui for $60, and Aulos A507B 3-piece recorder for $17 on amazon for example.

At first I was taken aback a bit by the much higher key and new instrumentation, but by the end I was of course: masterpiece. Superb cover. The quality here is off the charts.

So many covers I've heard tend to ignore the importance of the xylophone/bells. The sound that reminds one of thin glass, so delicate, brings home just how much fragility and vulnerability Schala's magic conceals--and how tragically brief Janus' time with her will end up being.
She is a beautiful tragedy, and you preserved this wonderfully well by keeping it simple and elegant. Thank you!
I literally did not realize until now that Schala's theme heavily references the melody of Magus's theme. Mitsuda's score is the gift that keeps on giving.
One new thing every time you listen to pieces of the OST..
I'll never let go of PoopPoopFart. It's like a metaphor for the sweet sounds he caresses your eardrums with. First, the song hits you like a truck with the first poop, exciting and raw. A second poop follows, accentuating the first poop with hints of savory spice and corn. A final fart completes the ensemble, washing over you like a cool breeze that says, "thank you for watching, I do hope you enjoyed it." This is the essence of PoopPoopFart.

To a degree... you can... though I don't really recognize it thusly, Chrono Cross may be a sequel on paper but IMO they blew that, so many bad decisions and creative choices, as a sequel IMO it fails very very hard. But as a game on its own merits, ignoring any connections or if modified to be divorced all together from chrono trigger, it is a great, in fact an amazing game.
@@svenstevenson2245 Chrono Cross isn't a sequel at all. It just surfed on the hype of Chrono Trigger to sell more units. The biggest achievement of Chrono Cross is being played for so long by people trying to connect both games

PPF absolutely my pleasure. It also seems like you are a huge fan of the classics, you should really check out Undertale. It feels like a game from the 90s and has a ton of charm and wit. Plus some of the beat music in the industry. The game run through is very short too.

Your covers of video game music is by far the best I've heard on all of youtube. They sound so faithful to the original while still implementing the instruments you're using into the rhythm perfectly in your own way, and it doesn't sound out of place or out of touch to the music.

A beautiful melody drawing deep from melancholy. I hear this song and flashes of fond memories appear before me. Beautiful memories from the past. Loved ones so precious to me that have been taken away forever and reduced to nothing more than memories. I love this song, but I have to take care not to listen too long. Schala's theme tends to pull me into a pool of sorrow that takes me most of a day to pull myself out.
Awesome rendition of one of my favorite song ever. For those wondering about the ''black flute'', it is a Xaphoon. Sometimes called a pocket sax.
My litmus test on CT soundtrack covers/arrangements is always Schala's Theme. Usually I am pleased and I click off and go do something else; however, this was the first time I was actually moved by by such an arrangement.
