It's 2024. I still come back to this channel. It's where I found out about the Xaphoon. And also where I remember the legend Dave Wise is. Dude did an impossible soundscape. This is quite complex for SNES. I love it.
Look at the date of his upload. Do you seriously think your going to get an answer? I gave up and not let the stress anymore get to me. These authors don't do it anymore. Him and Donut Drums have all gave up.
This is what I've been wanting to see someone do for so long, most the HQ remakes out there are a bit poorly or strangely done or always intentionally in some other style than the original, or all remixed to hell~
This cover is brilliant, the percussion was all very carefully and deliberately modified in ways to ensure it had the correct timbre that matched the original song. That's a level of dedication that's staggering.
@@VictorGoonzalez Okay so first of all why are you replying to me about this Second of all, no that's not true. I pretty clearly see him take breaths. People can breathe through their nose, like, people don't need to do a full belly mouth breathe in. The parts he does with the wind instruments is pretty short, so long breaths weren't necessary. The most you can argue here is that he didn't actually do the volume dynamics, and that was done in post. Which is probably true.
@@VictorGoonzalezmore like hes doing the equivalent of lip syncing. The fingering is accurate, but you're right, i never noticed that he isnt actually breathing. He probably records the sounds for real in studio, then "lip syncs" in front of the camera for the video
This video just blew my mind. Allow me to explain. When I was a lot younger, I used to watch my older brother when he played Donkey Kong Country 2. Some of my favorite times were when we had a plate of butter cookies on the table. The fact that you used such a lid for percussion is an amazing coincidence, and brought back a few memories for me. I seem to remember he was on the beehive levels at that time.
Bro, Why does UA-cam bury a creator like you in the bottom. Like you should be on the front page when I open UA-cam, with your next song. Excellent Job, Rare-ware music team would be proud!
I once transcribed the original in MIDI. The "noises" at the beginning are perfectly faithful, and you know it. I'm so thankful your covers are essentially HD remasters.
David Wise is a legitimately brilliant composer, full stop. A true musician that was operating in an era where he blew the expectations out of the water and set such a high standard for musical thoughtfulness, and compositional depth, in video games. The bar was RAISED by this game and its predecessor, immeasurably. He did this with very early, primitive sound cards and MIDI samples. The music in this game, and in DKC, is so diverse in its genre influences, but it all so memorable. It always evolves, always takes such unexpected and beautiful turns. This man could write for anything. Iconic. I could geek out about it all day lol

If you're looking for accuracy in your video game covers, this is objectively the best cover on UA-cam. I'm blown away at how accurate this is to the original song. Amazing.
It's interesting, listening to the original midi from the game makes me feel painful nostalgia for when I was young, but this version with fresh instruments makes me just feel pure happiness.
This is by far your most impressive video, hands down. I just came across this channel recently, watched a handful of videos, then saw the title of this vid and thought "how the hell is he going to cover the percussion on this one?". Dude you freaking took this cover to another level!!
This has to be the best remake I've listened to. The bass on this is PERFECTLY dropped. Not too light, not too heavy. Just like the game! This one here you for sure brought this back to life once again! You know what? I'm playing that game tonight. Yes I have my same Super Nintendo from the 1990s that is fighting strong through the decades and yes I used hydrogen peroxide to bring back that classic grey color to my console 🎮

god so this is the song in lylah's botw music overhaul, bro I walked in the tech labs and a literally cried because this game and music is my childhood, like I have never been interested too much in music design except for DK country music so hearing this in one of my fav games as a mod I had to sit in the lab and jam for a bit. thank you PPF for making me happy today.
You heard my prayers! I can't believe in this. :'D This is by far the best cover of this song. You never fail to amaze me, Mr. Fart. You're one of my favorite musicians. Period. This is my favorite DKC2 song after Stickerbush Symphony, and I must say that you have done it justice. Your talent and creativity is simply unbeatable!
The genius of this theme is that it makes you think of the working mines. You hear the bell sounds to signify the dimonds, you hear the rhythmic steel and tinking sounds to literary signify the sound of working miners using the picaxe to break rock and diamonds and throwing diamonds and gold into the mine carts and then there is this low sound that kinda sounds like bees to signify the wind blowing in the caves. David Wise did an amazing job on this theme on not only making making it very catchy, but making you think of miners at work going along with the beat. Another thing I would add is that the instruments used is all most all metal and steel so it proves the point that the mining theme is definitely within the instruments for both this video and the original soundtrack.

I love the fact that the original soundtracks were just individual sounds saved and then combined later because they couldn't fit the whole song on the carts. That's what I'm seeing here. Good work.
