I appreciate these videos. It's cool to see "old" supercars some years after their hype has cooled down. Thank you SD you guys are heroes for providing quality entertainment for us car enthusiasts
I worked for Ferrari from 2007 till 2012. When I think back that was the best time to have been there in regard of the cars...there were many 6 speed manual transmission cars back then...enjoyed it very much. Regarding the Scud,oh man..I've driven them many times and am very fortunate. The 16M is thrilling as well, with the top down the sound is even on another level. Thanks for the content. One of the best cars ever produced.
As a ‘purist’ who, prior to buying my Scud, always snubbed anything that didnt have a manual box, I can honestly say that I really enjoy the gearbox in this car. It has a level of character and interaction that you will never get from a double clutch unit. Would a manual box improve this car as a package? Im not sure it would! This car has ultimate single clutch gearbox developed for a road car, and its magnificent
I am on my second Scud. Love these cars! Pure, analog, bonkers… First one was no stripe, second one does have a stripe. First one was Rosso Corsa, the current one is Giallo Modena. I still cannot figure out which one of my 2 favorite cars I like better - the Scud or the the 997.2 GT3RS.
@@caspi88 they are different indeed. I love them both. Different experiences - both very special. I bought a 6MT 2008 Coupe last year. I guess the 430 generation is clearly my favorite LOL.
Your opinion is spot-on and the gearbox is pure heaven. You dont need a smooth, heavy dual clutch for a car like this. It has the slow mode for surviving the boring part of the drive and then the "in your face" mode for the funny part.
There must come a point where you can ask 'how much Ferrari is enough Ferrari'? This looks, sounds and drives superbly giving the full fat Ferrari experience for a lot less than high-end F12 / 812 / F8 / 488 money. Value for money everywhere.
That is one of 10 best sounding cars of all times . I was lucky enough to drive one on the track ten years ago and it made me smile every time I think of it.
I love the 430 Scuderia, this car with remap and direct exhaust is absurd!! A friend has a wonderful and reliable car for years, he already has more than 70000km and is still perfect!! Great content!
Great job on this! Love the no stripe look. Wish it had a manual option in the 430 Scuda. Sounds magnificent. The 430 is the last beautiful Ferrari in my opinion. Love this generation of Ferrari
My dad have owned 430sc since 2010 but I’ve never been in the car for 5years. I remembered lots of memories and lovely sounds Thank you so much for your work!!!
I love this one almost as much as the Stradale! I really respect the Speciale being a massive step up, but I've always thought the 430 is much better looking than the 458, and it sounds more raw!
The Scud is the sweet spot in the lineage of Ferrari's high performance, track focused, V8 supercars. People have manual swapped it but prefer the F1 gearbox and suits its character more. The Challenge Stradale is more suited for a manual swap. The bumpy road mode is just a genius idea from Michael Schumacher.
The NA motor will see a resurgence as sports/super cars become more of a novelty. I had this realization after buying a 992 C2S 7MT. The turbos on that car removed a lot of the drama/tickle. The manual transmission felt like a mismatch for such a capable car too. Was it crazy fast? Yes! Is it as fun as the 2014 991.1 Targa 4S I traded it for? Nope.
Team stripe! I loved that car when it came out. I remember when they came out with the 16M to commemorate their F1 constructor's win. Special Ferrari that gets overlooked by the 360 Challenge Stradale & 458 Speciale as you rightly said.
I think I prefer this over the Speciale. Sounds way better, and I like the looks as well. It feels more raw. I grew up in this era, with the 360 CS, 996/ 997 GT3 RS and the gen 1 Superleggera, so I have a big soft spot for these cars compared to the latest ones.
Yep I love this car it’s awesome, I was on a track day at Silverstone yesterday in a guys 360 the noise was unbelievable just sang, in black no stripes for me! Really well shot great clip! 👍
Never seen a 430 Scud without the stripe, I quite like it. This and the 458 Speciale are still my favourite mid engined lightweight Ferraris. No nonsense cars
I’m a Lamborghini fan because they just an event and excitement and loud how these cars should be. But the f430 Scud and the f12 tdf make me like and respect Ferrari
This car 🚗 looks nearly the same as mine.. despite the stripe. I love it!! Was and always be my favorite Ferrari. The feeling of changing gear at Full Throttle is amazing! Absolut brilliant video that describes the car very well!! Thank you!!! 🤘🏻
This is my dream car, was the first Ferrari I saw and was able to get up close and personal with when I was 12 and I told myself I had to get one someday, somehow.
Hah, I totally overlooked this car while shopping around for my next one. And to think I wasted so much time at the VW, Skoda and Seat showrooms without having a look at this beaut!
Drove one of these back to back wirh a 458 when I was 21 in Italy. It's really loud. It's all about the top end, initially I found the acceleration disappointing, until I nailed it wide open and drove it like the engineers intended. It's a road legal go kart with 500hp, yes please
I don´t have a clue which one of the lightweight Ferraris I would choose. Haven´t driven any of them. All of them seem fun, but on paper at least I would go with the Speciale- last one with N/A V8.
I had one, fantastic car on fast A roads, hellish on motorway, had various cars since, but loving my Pre LP SL, which gives the scuderia performance at lot less money and has front lift and carpets :-) Id have another scud but circa £200k they aint cheap, stripe for me was a must but each to their own,
For fun, nothing beats a sequential in a race car. The F1 is as close to a sequential as can be found in a street car, and the Superfast-2 that is in this car is the best of the best. Twin clutch transmissions are perfect, and that is the problem. If you want fun, buy any Ferrari with an F1, the later the version (355 > 360/575 > 430/599 > Scud) the better. Even more fun than a (perfectly shifted) manual and infinitely more fun than a twin clutch.
Don't think there is a right one to choose...if you can only have one then choose with your heart not a bad car among them. 458-Scud- Stradale for me or is it 458-Stradale -Scud... who cares all great.
Fabulous car & review. I went for a manual f430 with carbon buckets which feels it was designed for UK roads...peak Ferrari analogue? I agree, screens & tech are a distraction, plus they age like milk.

@@scd i think the rarest color we got back then was a British Racing Green for the Scud.
So many? I mean... Not really
I have never overlooked the Scud… it’s so amazing and thrilling to drive!
It sure is!

Says a man who knows 🙌 it really is a sublime package. we follow you on Instagram! Keep enjoying those cars
430 Scuddie is hands down my favorite ferrari ever. Idk why but I love everything about its looks and its sound just makes it a menacing ride
My favourite from the bunch. The noise is intense, can feel that engine vibrating through your back!
Agreed. Not many cars you drive that you feel through your fingertips and toes
You know what I love about this channel? That it reviews not the newest cars, but the best cars out there ❤️✨

I own one since 2 years now. Best decision in my life so far !
Congrats
The Scud is the "unloved" special V8. Which means it's a good value. Think Dino, Daytona, F50, 308 GTB. All unloved at one time.
Best get one bought then 😂

Truth is, this has more than enough horsepower than most people can handle. 430 and 458 are the perfect cars.
They are the perfect balance
Man those begining shots are just outstanding!! Congratulations! I'm speechless watching it!
Sold mine a few years ago 😭😭 Incredible car…nothing compares!

Not overlooked enough. The used market pricing is big money!
Cannot get over that noise. Heavenly 🤤
Sublime right?
Best Ferrari hands down
The name suggests a rocket, a Scud Missile. The 430 and Scud remain my favourite rear v8 Ferrari.
Truly phenomenal car of the century

One of the most finest fun cars out there!

Why does this car reminds me so much of my 4C? It's almost like it is his older and bigger brother.
This car is spot on. If I was rich, the first car I’d buy would be this or a GT3 RS.
Dream car, life goal, right there.
Love the understated look 😎
team striped right here
👇🏽
The exhaust valve override is pulling the vacuum hoses off the valves. It's pretty easy...you can reach them when you open the engine bay.
I had a 16M
Best drivers car I’ve owned EVER
Amazing 😻
Still my favorite!
4.3 naturally aspirated V8! I love Ferrari.
It’s the one right?
I would have this over a speciale.
Same
What a absolute beauty.
Blimey, when did I suddenly get to the age where I'm in the generation that remembers the CS!?
I've been lucky enough to drive a f430 scud. 😁
Team Stripe. Also my favorite Prancing Pony by miles.

Team No Stripe, for sure!
Team stripe for me, especially the classic white and blue stripe. Works so well against the red
We’re a fan of this spec!
To me is almost timeless, at that times it was uncomparable, the engine, the gearbox and the design, mechanically and design wise is a perfect pack
Simply amazing.

Best of the NA V8 lightweights to drive.

I like the 360CS for its more graceful shape and less baritone exhaust.
Fair enough 🙌
They are definitely undervalued and given how the market is, these will go up drastically in the next few years!
You’d think so right? Massive want
This or a gallardo superleggera would be my dream super car
Love a Gallardo SL 🙌 raw to the max
Would be good to see you do a similar video on a superleggera to compare them
my favourite Ferrari. period.
One of ours too
I love my scud.. They are just amazing cars.
It was only a few years back one of these in RHD could be had for about £130k..
Should of bought one shouldn’t we? Ha
Definitely my favorite Ferrari. No stripe makes it a winner in my book.
