I use Sam Elliot clips to test the bass on my speakers
same but sometimes i use phil anselmo interviews
J.T. Schellenberg yesss sam elliot deserves chuck norris sayings
i usually don't respond but this was a really funny comment.
Raine Wilson I once heard it was a stalemate between chuck Norris and Sam's voice in a Bruce Lee round circle fight scene. The black dude with the afro was even there.
I ususally don't laugh.. but lol
Fun fact: Girls talk in high pitched voice with guys they like.
Girls talking to me:
Bro how can that be when you look like Oscar Isaac?? I know it's a joke but just felt like pointing that out lol
Ashton Benjamin girls talk? I never noticed.
Don't expect any pity when you have a girl in your profile pic with you 😂😂
Daaamn 😂😂😂
I do the high pitch thing to be less intimidating too. It works well.
“That was a bummer.”

On his father dying of a heart attack in his mother’s arms surrounded by his family when Sam was only 18
What a terrible memory to have. 🇨🇦
He's a man's man
Ive got no talent. Or skill. But i wish someone would listen when i speak ...like this guy is being heard...that would be nice...
@@felixfelix7447 I'm being evaluated for possibly being a high-functioning autistic. It essentially means that I don't naturally understand other people, and need to/have needed to rationally learn why people are the way that they are, and that oftentimes people say things to convey emotion that literally mean something completely different. (That's probably always gonna frustrate the fuck out of me.)
Anyway, it's meant that in order to develop social skills, I had to learn ways of behaving that were entirely unnatural. Learn that standing up straight and speaking with a certain 'authoritative' volume ended up convincing people that what I was saying was actually valid.
If you happen to be a naturally submissive person, and you want people to see you as being more of a leader type, I'd imagine you can train yourself to behave in that way. Sadly, normal people don't consider what people say on its own merit; how you say things ends up being even more important than the things you're saying. Because - by and large - people are fucking idiots.
@Corpsefoot Gaming what i have is very limited and of no real use if i want to achieve anything...... never up to standard and prone to making people dismiss me immediately. God that sounds so self pitying. But its just an observation based on my experiences. Whenever i raise my head above the parapet i always end up wishing i hadn't bothered because someone else will just cancel me out somehow. Its a vicious circle i find myself in. My art teacher told me i have no talent whatsoever and its a complete waste of time my continuing. But.. I've sold through a gallery. I played drums..but soon found out that drummers are ten a penny.. and all a better bet than me...etc. Yet i think I'm quite wise in my way.. I'm friendly to all... can't help thinking I'm pretty pointless....thanks for your interest....
Sam Elliot's cologne is Diesel Fuel.
you are an idiot.

@Dylan sky Clearly, what the hell is diesel gas? Polar opposites.
Nah. He probably bathes in horse sweat.

Sam Elliot can kick anyone's ass, with his voice
AGENTARMES They tried to shoot Chuck Norris with the same round, but it would exit out of the barrel.

I heard Sam Elliot’s mustache beat Chuck Norris in a fist fight.
Chuck Norris jokes... seriously? You miss 2008 that bad!?
No. The boogie man looks for Chuck Norris. Chuck looks for Sam Elliot.

Man, that hurts, don't it?
I saw this and went just and told my 12 year old son how proud I am of him. Time flies and then it’s gone.
Good man
Good for you. Well done. My "sperm donor" died earlier this year. He was a raging narcissist that the family (I'm 59) is still recovering from. Raising self-reliant, healthy, intellectually honest kids is an INCREDIBLE accomplishment-- sounds like your thoughts and efforts are focused in the right place.

You will never know how much that means to your son, hell, even he might not know it till his later years, but he will thank you for it, and will still have benefitted from it regardless. Thank you for being a present, loving Father. “He died when I was 18. Yeah, it was a bummer.”
Not the words I’d have used, but Eliot’s voice gives them more weight than most.
Sam's voice gives air weight.
As someone that lost their old man at 19 and have now lived with him long gone longer than having lived with him around I completely get his response. After so many years and then decades of living that reality you don’t find yourself waxing and waning with words when it comes to it. You’ve told that story ten million times, it might be news to you or whoever but it’s reality for him, it’s been the reality. @@seanisajerk83 thats kinda what happens with some of my abuse/trauma and a method i do to desensitise myself. Once ive told it the 10 millionth time, it loses its power and weight. For me to talk about at least
Sam Elliot definitely does not seem like the kind of man that would have any interest in acting.
Ikr? Wth? 😊🤔😎
That's because men like to believe that rugged masculinity is not performed. That it's not a pose.
Because he is a good actor he isn’t actually a hard man like that. He is a theatre man.

I'm a Civil War re-enactor who was a background actor in the 1993 movie "Gettysburg," in which Sam Elliot portrayed Federal Brigadier General John Buford. I had had no contact with Mr. Elliot during the filming but, a couple decades later decided I would request his autograph. More than a year passed before I received back the card that Elliot had signed. It was accompanied by a gracious note apologizing for how long it had taken for him to respond, plus comments saying how making "Gettysburg" would have been impossible without the contribution of people like me.
If ever a character actor had a face perfect for his roles Sam Elliot is the face of the American West.
yeah.
i think: modern cowboy.
and he is on my mind
My people are from West Texas. That explains a lot. Tough, real, hardy.

I remember Sam and his wife staying at a resort I used to work for in Oregon. No one knew who he was. He rented the cheapest thing we had. Went out, got in the back of an old truck to get his fishing tackle together. We would get a lot of celebrities staying there, that put on airs. Sam is the real deal.

My grandpa knew Sam Elliot's dad. My grandpa was a federal trapper and the type of man Mr Elliot describes in this video his dad used to associate with. One day when I was six years old I was watching tv in my grandmas house. Only grandma would let me get away with watching tv and only late st night before bed while grandpa was reading the funny paper. My grandpa walked in the room and yelled to my grandma in the kitchen. He said look mom...little Sammy is on tv. I did not know who little Sammy was and my grandpa explained to me he used to drive to visit with his dad about work and once little Sammy had to plow him out in the morning. My grandpa was a man who spent his whole life in the mountains. He had an altimeter on his pickup dash to determine what sort of business he would do based on the altitude. He would consume a half court of Jim beam by lunch time and had a perfect safety record his whole career. He smoked sir Walter rally and was a man of habit. He was respectful to all but only had a few friends who knew how to handle themselves in all aspects of woodmanship. It was a way of life and a code of honor to conduct oneself correctly with guns, fishing, trapping, hunting, and respecting the land. Those who could not or did not were not considered even worthy as people and labeled out of staters or in some cases pot heads. Such as toilet pots. Anyway, my grandpa kept leather beaded strapped gloves at the table for those who spoke out of line and the table but was the first guy to for example give money in top secret to someone in need and those he helped knew damn well to never tell anyone. That is the kind of guy Sam Elliot's dad fished with. Men of precision in all aspects of woodmanship down to every element hand made by themsleves. Nothing purchased at the sporting good store if only to use as a copy. My grandpa died with the body of andidty year old man the doctors said. He killed and loaded the biggest buck in the valley at age 84. He was the last of a dieing breed and only embraced his 1/8 shashone indian ansestry the last ten years of his life. Until then he never spoke of it but as things started to change he would take out pictures of his native ansestors and yearn for the traditional ways. He died peacefully and I miss him as though he did not profess God or go to church his everyday fishing and hunting and outdoors respect for all manners of weather forecasting and adaption for conditions was something to have observed. He is in heaven. I pray.
David Seyler sheer poetry. Thank you.
David Seyler thank you for sharing. Back then men just got stuff done and lived life. Stories like these and my grandfather motivate myself to do more.
I really think this a book, and you're a talented writer sir.
"He is in heaven. I pray." - of course he is. that's where all real men like him go.
Might be the best thing I ever read in a comments section. I grew up in Oregon, but even if I hadn't this would still speak to me.

he's so cool! he seems so sincere and actually very kind aside from his somewhat intimidating look. He really is a man.
In some of his early work he has a thin wispy moustache or none at all, it freaked me out
to see how true that actually is, watch him in The Contender. Shit just doesn't look right.
"actually very"
James McInnis hi James, the term “actually” holds more than one meaning. You may be thinking I used it in a “truth or factual sense” but I actually used it in a way to emphasize that his kindness is surprising or unexpected. Awesome segment .. TY Mr. Elliot ! My Dad died from Covid on June 27th, my mom’s birthday. We weren’t sad, but rather celebrated his life. He knew my mom for 68 years. 82, final curtain call. In heaven now. I too wanted my Dad to be proud of me. I hope he was. He was my hero, I was honored to be his son, and I thanked him for my life. I will miss him dearly, but he was a tough man too and would want me to be just as strong and responsible. I will and take care of mom too .. thanks for your story. You are quite a guy ! JB

Everyone on here fascinated by Sam’s voice, what’s got me awestruck is the interviewer’s style. He actually lets Sam finish answering each question in his own time and isn’t constantly interrupting him mid sentence. Giving a genuine pause after Sam mentions his fathers death. Each question just gently rolls towards Sam and it’s wonderful. THIS is how an interview should be.
Sam Jones is a beautiful, compassionate interviewer who gives his subjects space to talk and doesn't lay his own agenda on them. Pretty rare in US media tbh. Respect.

He'd be proud of you mate no worries there!
Mick Martin 💯👍🏼
I love him so much. There is just something so beautiful about a man who has aged without apology.
My father died at age 48 from alcoholism. I didn’t see him for 13+ years only one video call and few months later he died. I tried reach out too him several times but he was “busy” . The thing is I grew up those 13+ years with an adoptive family who have been very supportive throughout the years. So, when he died, yes it was sad, but I wasn’t disappointed as much as people usually are when their parent dies. After all, I was a formal orphan . I stay away from alcoholics or alcoholism, drugs, and cigarettes. I just seen too much from 1st hand experience that it scares the shit out of me. That miserable life just scares me. Now, I have depression but I try deal with that through exercise which helps A LOT. Anyway, there are plenty of people on this life who are miserable as shitttt. Your parents or past does not define who you are. Life is hard in general so you might get used to working hard. RIP to my father. I hope he is at peace .

my father was very sick, he had me when he was 39 and he was already having health problems. he died in 97 when i was 25, its still weird that hes gone, because i grew up with just us. just me and my father, there was no one else there all those years. i still feel guilty that he had to work till the day he died, and that i couldnt have ever had the chanxe to become something "which i havent" and take care of him so he could have a few years of freedom before his time came.
