He also still has a lot of nice hair and a soiid hairline which makes him look more youthful and attractive. Lowe has had some surgery and procedures to maintain his looks - just not as drastic and obvious as Moore's.
lol, what an idiotic comment. All actors are "normal". You are aware they are pretending to be other people, right? It just baffles me people think actors are charming and interesting in real life.
He seems like such a sweet guy. Very laid back, humble, quiet (almost by a little bashful at times). And super nice. He’s old enough to be my dad but I still think he’s really cute.
Andrew Mccarthy is not only drop dead beautiful, so good looking but also has an interesting qualities too him.Molly was spot on when she told john Hughes too hire him for pretty in pink because thats who she woukd fall for and want.he is so dreamy and poetic.
I read some rumors that Ringwald and McCarthy were secretly together before and during the filming of their later film together "Fresh Horses." And that Ringwald fell for Viggo Mortenson, who played her husband. Rumor wss that they had a fling, whilst McCarthy, who was jealous, had a thing with actress Patti D'Arbanville, who was also filming with them.

Andrew McCarthy has the same energy as Paul Rudd. Both handsome, funny, intelligent, easy going, laugh easily at themselves. I could watch either of them talk for hours
Oh I love that Weekend at Bernie's was his favorite movie, because it's my favorite movie of his, too! It was stupid, but it was so fun! I love hearing that it was fun filming it, because that totally comes through when you watch it. It's just good, silly, crazy fun. I really enjoyed watching "Brats" and feeling all the nostalgia for the 80s 😻
Weekend at Bernie's 2 is one of my favorite movies. I grew up on St. Thomas where it was filmed, and I left living there in 1990 2 years before filming, giving us a snapshot of the island as I remember it. I notice the video didn't mention Less Than Zero - a film every teen should watch to see the horrors of heavy drug use.
I love Andrew McCarthy even moreso now than I did back then. He and I also share a birthday. St Elmo's, Pretty in Pink, Less Than Zero, Weekend at Bernie's are the best!😉
Thought exactly the same thing. Such a POWERFUL movie for it's time. I'd even say a "must watch" film. Very intense & realistic performances I thought, without the typical Hollywood fairytale ending of that era. RDJ was expectional in it, as was McCarthy & Jamie Gertz. Highly recommended imo.
I hope you read this I watched your documentary, and it was wonderful! I was so surprised because as fans we loved the brat pack! And we couldn’t figure out why ya’ll didn’t maximize that angle instead of run from it. I mean hell it’s been 30 something years and here I am watching a documentary about it just as happy as I can be.
In the '80s, stars were always trying to run away from what was working for them for fear of being "typecast." Shelley Long left Cheers, Michael Keaton quit Batman after two movies, Harrison Ford said he wanted to be killed off in the third Star Wars so he could never come back, and Christopher Reeve had to be dragged back to do Superman IV after saying he was quitting the role (which is a sequel he shouldn't have done, admittedly). Even most of the Ghostbusters cast did not want to do a sequel. It was just a different way of thinking back then. Nowadays, every actor wants a franchise where they can play the same part ten times.
Love this Andrew it's so great to hear you talk about your movies just love you thank you for bringing back memories of my teen years ❤🫂 love all your movies!!!
We saw the brat pack as good looking, talented, young people who were giving the finger to corporate adult life, and just doing their own thing. We wanted to be like ya’ll….to watch ya’ll together. It’s really a shame that y’all didn’t see that. It’s a shame that ya’ll didn’t know more young , “normal people,” who would have told ya’ll the wonderful truth about how much we loved the brat pack title.
Heaven Help Us is his best movie! It is so under rated it is a shame! He is so good in it! I think Andrew could have been great in he would have kept on that track of movies. Very solid actor.
That was a great interviewer. Andrew is awesome❤ lucky kids and wife to have him in their lives. (In other words- Actors can be very flakey and of low morals). Andrew is not at all that way and it is very obvious he never was. Very 😎 cool. 👍🏼
Rob Lowe was insanely hot and exciting back in the day. But Andrew melted our hearts, he WAS dreamy and poetic and sweet. I cant imagine Blane being a "jock" type character. Andy would not have wanted an empty meathead.
I remember watching, "A Weekend at Bernie's" with my relatives visiting from NYC in 1990. I was laughing so hard that I couldn't breathe. I had to the bathroom to stop. Funniest movie EVER.
Nobody is bringing up Kingdom Hospital which is another one of my huge favorites.. Andrew had so much fun making that mini series. I mean come on, lots of truth in that how and why Stephen King made that show.
Always a fan of you & your buddys! I think i saw you one day at Montgomery State Park Restaurant a long time ago & didn’t know your name till i finally saw you in a video with Rob! If the guy wasn’t you then your twin must hang out at that restaurant that i heard lately had been closed down in Dickson, TN! ♥️🌟👋
hey!, ( lost my older brother Andrew!, 2 years ago?, Kidney Failure! ), but, Andrew, watching you try & save Julien?, from the crack pioe!, was Brilliant!, watching you lug around ya dead Boss Fred?, FN HILARIOUS!!!, thanks for entertainment Mate.
Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey Jr, John and Joan Cusack...? St. Elmos was an adult film. McCarthy was background noise. What about James Spader, Matt Dillon and C. Thomas Howell? Timothy Dalton, sean and Chris Penn?
💖 Andrew and all the Brats...such a huge part of my high school years!
Same! 80's was the best time to be a kid 💖
@@loristone9242Exactly!!!
I think this quote came from David Spade: "Rob Lowe. Not many people can pull off being a teen idol for four decades."
😂😂 so true❤
Such a gentle, calm, dreamy beauty. Molly was so right lol.
Both he and Rob have aged like the finest of wines!
Demi Moore ain't too shabby either!

McCarthy still has an amazing head of hair, just like in his youth.
What I like about Andrew is he comes across as just a normal guy whose job just happens to be an actor and really down to earth. Nice to see that

Agreed. I always thought he was the cutest of the brat pack. I’m only 38 but he’s still cute, even at 59. 😂
I had a crush on Andrew McCarthy ❤

I always wanted James Spader in Pretty in Pink. He is that creep you just want to fix and he too was so pretty and unique looking.

Weekend at Bernies is so great to watch through those years.
Andrew McCarthy and James Spader do not get enough credit. ❤
Andrew has a very spontaneous way of connecting. You think you can trust him from the get/go. 💎

And both are aging wonderfully. Spader, not so much, though Spader compensates for it by being just really interesting.
Pretty in Pink was epic.. still love it
I remember that interview with Andrew McCarthy on the set of St. Elmo’s Fire, wow the memories
I was born in 79, so I didn't like st elmos fire when I saw it as a kid, I didn't get it at all. I rewatched in my 30s and it's so good
Really like this guy. Always thought he was so handsome & seems really humble. Always loved his movies.

Weekend at Bernie's was a great movie. I'm 52 and grew up in the 80s so i understood that kind of comedy
Me too. I laughed so much watching that movie. The first is way better than the second but I loved them both.❤😂
i love that Weekend At Bernies is his favorite.....he was freakin hillarious in it
Too cool. So many laughs great fun
I NEVER had a crush on Rob Lowe.
I had a crush on Andrew McCarthy! 😍
Me too! There was just something about him, not just his looks but the whole package that had me crushing on him.❤
Rob was (and still is) GORGEOUS! 😍
Weekend At Bernie’s is THE BEST!
I ❤ Andrew in all his movies he had an innocent way about him say compared to Rob. Andrew was so dreamy , the kind of bf you wanted back then.
Andrew was always my favourite ❤
Me too.
Same here!
I just loved his vulnerability…quietly so boyishly handsome
Kids these days don't know what true entertainment is. Weekend at Bernies is hilarious
Gawd, he looks the same.. I got to work with him once, for 5 weeks and he was nice..it was his first time directing.
I liked Mannequin a lot because it was so different and he looked so cute!
Our favorite movie's Andrew was in was Sight and both Weekend at Bernies.
I hope the documentary will at some point come to other channels because that is something I would definitely watch
I just watched it on Disney+
Weekend at Bernie's was one of my favourite movies😂😂😂😂
I had such a crush on Andrew-he seems like such a nice guy
Loved him growing up.
All time great! So underrated imo
Ohhhhh I love all of those!
One of my favorite movies of his is Heaven Help us. It’s probably not as talked about as his other well known movies

Wtf? You skipped less than zero? That was the best movie
That was Andrews least favorite movie in that era in another interview
That was a good movie. It showed the dark side of the 80s that a lot of people don't realize about that decade
Less than zero was a really good movie! Andrew, Robert and Jamie played their parts!
I agree !

I love Andre McCarthy and the BratPacks. I grew up with them in the Philippines!
We want you to make it accessible in Canada !!
He’s been a heart throb of mine since I first laid eyes on him. Always my favorite among them, then Rob. 😉
Old friends Blane and Steff reunited 30 years later in The Blacklist!
He looks like has had fun making Bernie’s
I just watched Brats last night and loved it..
I see My youth when I look at James & Andrew!!!♥️✨
