I just finished this game again. First time i was 14 yrs old and now i am 36. Love this game and all the memories with it. I finished this level from right with diver and barret. Cleared many nazis in the shooting area with gun and no one triggered the alarm and the driver in the tank. Good memories. Ready to start call of duty 2
Played it when I was the same age as you or maybe a year younger, and just beat it again yesterday at 37. Got slightly emotional at the end. Good times. Sorry for the random comment, our ages just seemed right on point for when we both played them 😄

I bought the whole series in Steam a few weeks back and I've been playing this title carefully this time. After every mision I've enjoyed checking your strategies and laughed at myself seeing the ridiculous amount of time that took you to finish them. But, I have to congrat you because you are an incredible player. Have you ever thought about doing the walkthroughs of Commandos 2 & 3? It would be nice watching how you play them. Cheers!
+Javor Andric Eh I would prefer the Destination Paris Mod for 2 rather than see him play 3. 3 was decent as a game on it's own but as a commandos game it felt really hollow. The DPM recreates all missions from Behind Enemy Lines, Beyond the Call of Duty, Commandos 3 Destination Berlin and revamps all of the Commandos 2 missions to make them more challenging and interesting as well as a few other bonus missions floating around.
Waleed Abu Omar agree, even though i didn't not get to taste the other missions following it, mission 15 was insane for me I had no clue what to do to pass it back then
Graphics are nice for 1998 and may be a little bit dated for 2020, but I think the AI of this game is splendid! The game is sometimes very tricky, but that is the fun of it! And I also think the game can learn kids and grown kids a bit about WW2 history also, seriously :)
I watched all your videos after finishing the missions, it's very interesting specially when you used a different strategies or tricks I didn't knew. I finished this mission from the right side instead, used Green Beret and Marine all the mission. Thanks for uploading Commandos series, great work! ^^
Between 5:30 and 7:45 is very hard. Much harder than it looks, cause even though you are crouched down it seems extremely easy for people on the ground level to spot you. I'm often in a spot that seems concealed from view and I scroll around the map only to get spotted during that time. I actually saved, not realizing that an enemy squad unit came over to check my first two kills on the wall line and there was nothing I could do to conceal it without being caught.
Thank you very much for this. It was really helpful. The critical bit I found was crawling at the top of the battlements. The number of times Save Load shows how challenging the game is.

QQ: Not sure why they don't raise the alarm when you kill the gunner with the sniper, there were many nazis there, and my case they raise it always when trying to kill that one.

This mission always made me relate itself somehow to a popular Spanish historical novel called "Operación Hagen". If you are interested in World War Two secret missions and atomic bombs, then this is your kind of read.
Nice game. I do it a bit different. First part is same game, i climb and clean castle high and outer wall with Green Beret until tje garrison, but then i go down to shooting area and start to clean with him... You can kill shot no matter what, as long as you're in there. It os possible to kill the 15 20 guys only with green beret, or you can let marine go in to help. It is risky but possible. Then green beret cleans one by one the 4 east door. Now it comes the hard part: combine green beret and sniper to kill 2/3 higher soldiers in east... Then driver goes under the 2nd level wall to the corner over the tank(green beret and sniper have to work together again, like in movies). In this moment, all other except sapper and sniper has to be hidden in the up east corner door, and spy laying down on the corner of castle (it gets spotted). Sequence: sniper shots canon and a higher soldier, sapper grenade garrisson, run them to the door, get ready to shot lower soldier with driver and sneak into tank. The rest is history (you may use spy to kill 5 6 guys up and distract patrol to allow sapoer put the bomb)
Me too. Imagine my disappointment that he was changed in Beyond the Call of Duty: sounded like a British guy pretending to make something close to an Irish accent, with zero badassery. In Men of Courage, he seemed kind of goofy, but then in Destination Berlin, holy shit, nazis beware: the Green Beret is back!
Impressive as always... I didn't use the spy at all, I thought it was impossible to get him to the uniform :) cleared half of the map with the Green Beret like you did, then took him down to the shooting range and took out another 10-15 guys with the pistol without raising the alarm. Then cleaned up the eastern gate for the others to get in and the rest is history. Oh, and picked up the spy from in front of the castle on the way out. :D Still got 2 stars for time and could have saved some time here and there, but your approach is definitely much more elegant.
Probably the way that he's playing is not fun anymore more, he already watched Manuals, Instruction, etc, but still, probably he used to finish at his first time just like us. Failing learning and now may be he just do for videos
@@alemaongd what you need to do is reload the game since the last part when everything was good. It's just an error. Like me one time y pass the mission and don't let me go to the next one. If you already pass the 19 just look for the password for the 20 that's I did. Because I can't drive the truck by because a software bug

I'm on this mission right now. Is there a mod that I'm missing? My diver's harpoon gun doesn't have the same range as in this video. Most notably when trying to take out the two guards, one up the stairs from the other, using just the harpoon gun. Happens around the 21:20 mark.
Right around 5:45 I would keep getting the attention of a patrol on ground level and they're did not seem to be any in dictator they saw me, other than slowly heading the long route upstairs. I never got back to this mission, but I should sometime.
Was anybody else reminded pf Where Eagles Dare by this mission? ... I know it was entirely different - a rescue operation (a sort of false one at that) vs total destruction of this fortress, but still - the castle setting + a small group of special forces against hordes of nazis...
Mad hard mission, i dont know why the units move so slow in your version or why the enemies are not dicks to see you even when they re not supposed to (perhaps because mine is cracked) but i actually cleared almost the entire fortress with the Green Beret. Then i realized there was a water gateway and got the Marine inside to help clear the rest so i could get the driver in and destroy everything with the tank :DDDD
In 2018 i still believe this one of the best games ever made ;-)

I did the same! After finishing a level, came here to see how it also could be done. Just finished level 20, took me about 5 hours.

So basically, the Green Beret does 90 percent of the leg work in the entire game.
Also the spy, everytime the spy gets the uniform we get calmer and more confident

My hypothesis is that he needs his identity to be secret so he was not with the others.
Though to be fair, the spy, together with the green berrett, is the best character of the bunch
