Yea i know, the smell was coming from that area so 2 and 2 together it was a matter of time., Yea checked itall with the multimeter to see it the controller overcharged it but all checked out. It was old, and it was a +40 day so i think it was just its time 🤙🍻
Hey guys , I worked at Olympic Dam and lived in Andamooka for nearly 3 months. It's definitely different and yes bloody hot , dry and plenty of fly's but there's some good people there! Looking forward to see where you're off to next.
hey hye man, thankyou .. its actually 3 app into one through our editing software, but the main one is call Travel Boast.. that provide the base to it. 🤟
There is nothing better than the Aussie Outback, so stunning. Wow such a great episode so many adventures and so many more to come. And huge congrats on the 10k 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great to catch up with you Aaron in the car park at Port Pirie when you were installing your battery. Thanks for the Yorke Peninsula tips too. Jagged some nice squid. Stayed at Bute too. Good little pub with engaging locals. Keep it real as you do. Cheers. 👍
Cracking episode ! The drone work is next level along with the commentary and banter 😂 that sunrise and the red centre is just spectacular👌 can’t wait to get up there , cheers guys !
Been here currently 2 months, say we will be doing 4-5 months, as much as we love seeing all the places we really wanted to experience different things as well on our travels and station life was high on the list
Ive heard that some people, if they are driving into a hot night, they put their AC on while they drive so that the van is already cool when they pull up. Great pick up on the battery. Interesting series driving into the heat.
I have heard of this but most of the road from this ep on are all off-road and dust would be an bit of an issue and messy 😅 but on the highway, for sure would easy do that✌️
Have you tried running your air con in the van whilst your driving and charging whilst your driving. Your van is cooled down and doesn’t have to work so hard when you pull up. Wild Touring have kids that need naps so they do it without any problems. Up to you :) Great drone footage and drone location 😜 legend 😂😂
Yea, we have done that before on highways and bitumen roads but wouldn’t do it on off-roading dusty conditions like Oodnadatta 👌🍻 thanks for watching and the ongoing support 🫶
Nice vid! Completely agree about port agutta! I reckon the ol landcruiser heard that you wanted to do it on a budget so then had your battery play up! Good thing you were able to get it fixed before heading on! Enjoyed the drone shots and seeing Andamooka again!
U r doing the right thing .the battery has had it and if it's conected to Ur start battery it could bugger it to.if there is no more charge going into it it will settle down
@@LostTribeAdventures iv had the same problem in my caravan .it smelt terrible. Pulled it out it was swollen. Hot.and hissing.saying that it could have been overcharging. Wen u replace a battery always cheque wats charging it.wether it's an alternator in Ur car or solar panels on a caravan .or car.the batteries all have to be charged off some thing.happy travels.hope I've been helpful
New subscriber, gr8 videos and as others have said, gr8 drone flying. What app are you using when you show the vehicle & van mileage? Keep up the gr8 work
Awesome episode glad you were able to replace the batterie before it exploded and found the drone and that opal town was amazing. Congratulations on your subscriber milestone
Get a soft drink bottle, cut top off and turn upside down on top of bottle, Vegemite and hot water. Fly trap. Learn and get a multimeter. Check your charge voltage. Well done, thou. Thanks for the video.
😅 yea probably a little too much 🤪 part of the onroad lifestyle. With the drone it post the last longitude and latitude coordinate on the find my drone screen. We use them to get close to where the drone was located on Wiki.. Steph’s idea, worked a treat👌🍻
Hi Aaron. Just wondering what drone you are currently using ? We're thinking of getting one and you get some amazing footage from yours. Thanks. P.s love your shows, especially how real you all are. Hopefully see you out on the road 😊
Hey hey, i mainly run the DJI mini 4 pro. great little unit not overall expensive and pretty hardy little thing. Thankyou for the kind words and the support ☺️
Nah mate, the animations I created myself and use a few apps spliced together to get the whole thing through our editing software, Da Vinci Resolve. But the main underlay app is Travel Boast✌️🍻
Wow. So lucky you got onto that car battery. Can’t believe you found your drone. So lucky. We’ve been to Andamooka about 30 yrs ago, still looks the same. We had an opal mine in Lightning Ridge where the famous black opals are. It’s very hard work mining for opals. We started our family so we sold our lease but did get a nice selection of opals.
Weell if you dont like comfort, power, luxuries, refinement, an auto and an intack back the 70 is the perfect choice. 😂 i love it, but im pretty bias 🍻
Had a battery explode in my old LN106 Hilux back in 2015. Was my 2nd battery luckily. Acid and crap everywhere. Stripped paint etc throughout the engine bay and buggered my bonnet with the force from the explosion. Mates behind us thought their 79 had blown a tyre the bang was that loud. Worse place was it happened on the Steep Point track about half way to the point. Luckily we could plug our fire into our mates 79. Lucky you got it when you did. Next time though when you smell that smell make your glasses are on that battery acid would've killed your eyes permanently and that to ke would be horrendous
YEa it happen to my old man and old lady.. Secondary battery popped in a big way.. Wrote the vehicle off. Acid and crap everywhere and bent the inner skirt, bonnet etc etc.. Acid got in the chassis so the insurance wrote it off. 🙃
@LostTribeAdventures it causes horrendous damage. I hit mine with a jerry of water and washed it down quick enough. Lucky being and old 95 hilux the wiring harnesses etc were so complex as the newer stuff. Very lucky mate diagnosing as quick as you did. The wife and I are loving your videos. Great to see you enjoying our great state WA.
What a shame you didnt pop into Woomera! I grew up there. The kids would have loved the rocket park! Great work finding and isolating the battery. Loved the drone footage! Cheers.
Yea I know it would have been awesome but we took about 3hrs to find the drone so I think I would have been pushing the limits of the kids and Steph. So we just hammered up to Roxby station 👌
Bit of adventure this week guys great ep, when we moved from the uk in 03 we moved straight to Roxby went to andamooka a few times bit wild west eh. How you getting on round alice been raining for last 3 days lot of roads closed and will be for a while choose your off road tracks wisely guys safe travels 🍻🍻🍻🍻
When you're in the outback watch out for mice and bush rats. They love electric wiring so i hound out in the Simpson desert. And also mice spider 🕷️ they are as big as your hand and that's just the body.
100% outback rats and mice are savage, we haven’t come across them yet but I’ve heard there is a bit more further north due to the floods and wet season 😟
Hahaha Andamooka she was the Wild West in the 80’s when they were build Roxby all the working Lads would go to one of the pubs there ( only one now tho ) and run amuck hahaha Girls, booze and brawls not always in that Order ,Oh and the road was a corrugated dust bowl, cow infested wreck of a drive lol But hey the call of the wild night out after workin hard all day 😜 😳😳
Red Suburbs Crime Map of Australia: "Port Augusta is ranked 100/100 in Australia by number and severity of crimes proportionate to population, where 0 means no crime." So the worst place in Australia then. Hm... quite an achievement. ABC: "Barngarla people granted native title over Port Augusta after 25-year fight." Population breakdown: "1 in 5 people Aboriginal." Coincidence? Sounds like a real sh|th0l3.
Hugely underrated channel. Subscribed 👍🏻

Our favourite episode so far!!!! That's some amazing landscape ❤
thanks legends, yea so wicked landscape out here and im only just getting warmed up 😅🫶🍻
What an amazing young man…..👏👏
An AirTag attatched to a drone makes it easy to find
That is one magic idea, I’ll be doing that I’d say. Thanks for the red hot tip 🍻👌
I simply can’t believe that you found that faulty battery so easily. You definitely need a multimeter! Great little channel you’ve got there!

Yes always disconnect a faulty battery,
We’re currently working on a cattle station north east of andamooka , other side of lake Torrens and we had a week of 47 degrees 🥵
oh really, we were going to do the run out to lake Torrens too but it got way too hot, how long is your stint out there for?

You isolated the battery how did you restart the vehicle. You could have stuffed your car computer by isolating the battery.
Dual battery setup my friend, that battery only run the freezer and points in the back of the wagon 🤟

You need to tag your drone with a locator
Did its smell like rotten egg, its from the sulphuric acid and a bad cell.
Yea sure did mate, that and a bit of electrical smell mixed in 🤪
Please do yourself a favor and replace your air box before it costs you a motor
Well hopefully it’s all good mate, running the Terrain tamers sandwich press plate in the box and seems to do the job👌
