Hello I'm a high school graduate from India. I wanna be a doctor in USA. I am well aware of rigour of a medical school then also I wanna become a doctor. But I was discouraged by the fact that there few medical schools that accept international students. I will be doing my pre med from USA so that it'll be easier to apply and be eligible to medical school. So I wanted to know that if the medical schools accepts international students who have done their pre med from us college and have a 4.0 undergraduate GPA , a 522+ MCAT score and some clinical experience in the undergraduate. Please provide me this information that if a international student can do MD from USA.

    VIDEO NOTES/SUMMARY:
    1. The purpose of doing a task needs to be valuable enough for us to want to do the task.
    2. We work much harder at the things that we believe that we can do, than those that we continually doubt are abilities in. We need to believe that our actions will lead to results in order to generate our inner drive.
    3. The Box Analogy: The box represents you. Inside the box are all of your abilities, aspirations, skills and goals. The edges/walls of the box are the perceived limits that you have for yourself. Some things are outside of our box, e.g. being a millionaire might be a dot far away from the edge of our box’s walls. One way to get all of the dots outside of our box INTO our box is by continually doing things which are outside of our box- thus growing the box. Every time we do something outside the box that we initially thought was really difficult, and we go on to achieve that thing, it becomes the new normal. Our box then grows/expands to encompass things which we initially thought were impossible to us. And if that box is you, then it’s you that is growing if we continually do things that stretch our box that are at/beyond the edges/limits of our box, then we build a track-record of things that we can look back at. E.g. “Hey, I mean, I gave a speech to 500 people last year, so this 1,000 people conference is something I can probably do, this is just slightly bigger, there’s nor reason why I can’t do this”. So you can extrapolate between different events, like if you gave a speech to 1,000 people, there’s no reason why you can’t pitch your product to 10 investors. All in all, if we believe that we can do those things, it will be far easier to generate the drive needed to do those things.
    4. Action points to generate some inner self-motivation:
    - Take a moment before embarking on a new journey (or even every once in a while) to really evaluate our purpose. Sometimes things can be really valuable to us but we don’t know it yet. And other times we can even assign a new purpose to some things so that they become even more valuable to us. Take some time yo sit down and write down the purpose of why you do things.
    - One thing to slide in here is to ask yourself why 5 times. And if you fo that and you get to the last why, then that us the true purpose of why you are doing it. E.g. “If I want to go to the gym I ask myself; Why do I want to go to the gym? >because I want to get stronger. Why do I want to get stronger? >because I want to be more healthy? Why do I want to be more healthy? >because I want to spend more time with my family. Why do I want to spend more time with my family?” And you keep on until you’ve asked ‘why?’ five times- and that will bring out the true purpose of doing that thing.
    - The second thing: Is to constantly do things which are at the edges of our limits/edge of our box, and make sure that we actually go on to achieve those things in order to increase our confidence. E.g. “ whenever I start on something I always make sure that my priorities are set- The thought is that I will achieve X, Y and Z no matter what. And when you continue to achieve these things, then your box expands, and when your box expands you start to actually feel like there are no limits except for the ones that you set for yourself.

I’ve seen alot of videos on how to motivate yourself but this one just changed my whole mindset. You are so right about getting things done that actually needs to be done even if there is lack of motivation, because it is absolutely ESSENTIAL and by avoiding this is life threathning. As you mentioned, job, one day before handing a project deadline, etc. You don’t know how much i can relate to this, for example when i had to take my driver’s license, it didn’t matter how many times i failed or felt bad when i couldn’t take it, i JUST simply had to get it done no matter what and i got it. That is how you are supposed to see on things you really want to get done or plan to get done. Thank you so much for this advice. It really changed the way of thinking on these things for me.
