Yeah, I agree 100%, I'm the same way. I watch because I like Mark's sense of humor and personality... the movie is kind of inconsequential to me. I will say, though, Mark has always resisted the enormous pressure to chase trends. I love that about this channel. It still has some individuality and perspective outside of the churn of content making up the mainline of YT.

As a longtime fan (since 2014), I always appreciate your B&W movie reviews! Also, I like the subtle joke during the "sick boy" skit: using a sharpie to draw in the skit, when a crayon was used to draw the helicopter. Love those little touches of humor!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT STOP MAKING VIDEOS BASED ON OLDER MOVIES. Like you say they are your favorites....they are mine too. So much more to put in your comedy than the newer movies which are bereft of fun.❤
ALL of your vids are hysterical and so well done…but there is indeed something special about your black and white productions. They, much like you, are slick, amazing, and hilarious.
I love the black and white reviews...thats when bad movies was the best....alot of the newer movies don't carry the same charm...older movies had to really put in work to bring the movies to the big screen..now it's all just CGI...I really hope you don't stop doing them
There are pros and cons to each era. I personally find the 80s movies Mark reviews to the most consistently hilarious (Gymkata, Death Spa, Fall Break/Mutilator, Chopping Mall, Hack-o-Lantern, Robot Wars, The Pit, House, etc.). The 80s was a Golden Age for weird movies, IMO.
Love the older ones too. Charm is a best descriptor for those movies. Newer ones are bad, but mostly because people seem to have forgotten how to make good movies. You need a story and charm, CGI is just lazy. Unless you're Spielberg.
I love that you review old movies because they're trippy and ridiculous and the b&w ones where you look like a narrator when you wear the suit. You blend in perfectly with the skits too!
Hello Mark. I appreciate all your videos. I'm sorry you are feeling pressured to do only newer movies. Personally, I really enjoy all your episodes. I enjoy your silly skits and your observations. Some of the parts I laugh the most at are the tangents, like about lying on your book report about Goosebumps or water damage in the closet in House. I just want you to know that your efforts are appreciated, whether talking about Steven Segal or 80s movies or black and white stuff.
Being of an older generation, the older movies are my favorite. They have an innocent charm to them. I hope you keep on reviewing them. I recommend "Zaat" from 1971. One critic described it as the best movie he's ever seen about a mutated catfish. It's listed in Wikipedia as one of the worst movies ever made and is in the public domain, I think.
I watched those old movies on late night tv when I was a kid. Please keep doing those also. Your production values on the skits are on point. Love your videos.
I agree, your videos about older movies are the best. The way you present them, the jokes - everything. Each time I hear "and welcome back to the program", it puts a big smile on my face.
What you mentioned about Steven never playing a character and just playing himself is so real! Like, the main reason I heavily dislike his movies, aside from all the flaws they have baked in, is the fact that like, all his movies feel interchangeable because he's always the same guy, no change! I could tell you like four different characters that guys like Stallone, Arnold, Van Dame, Willis and such play in their movies, but I can't tell you a SINGLE Steven character because they're all the same!
Mark, you should totally disregard any comments from someone who says, "I don't like Black & White movies" those kids don't even have their parents permission to leave comments, nor do they have any concept of satire or parody. I would argue some of the black & white movies you've done are some of your funniest reviews.
And when Mark green screen's himself into the Black & White movies it looks totally real, & when Mark inserts himself into the movies are by far the funniest parts to me.
I love the black and white ones, please don't stop reviewing them. I especially love when you edit yourself into them, Mark, whether b&w or color. Whenever I see you have a new upload it brightens my day immensely. Keep up the awesome work!!
Keep doing the older movies, they are just so damn hilarious and unique and your take on them never fails to entertain! With that said I also like the newer stuff, in particular when something like the I-Land comes around that is just on a whole other level of bad it has to be seen to be believed. I saw it and I still can't believe how it was even made!

I can tell that those movies have a place in your heart as well. There are a ton of reviews for the newer movies, so glad you are out there doing your thing.
Seagal has this weird fetish for one-of-a-kind jackets, with fancy designs on them. You can find this in almost all of his films going back years. It's his way of saying "look at me, look at how special I am. No other kid on the block has a coat like mine!"
I love the black & white movie reviews! Mostly, because I've seen a lot of those movies on "MST3K," and I feel like looking at them from another angle is cool. Keep up the good work, Mark!
I'm not sure what is the most entertaining aspect of Steven Seagal. Staring into the middle-distant while looking constipated, his cheesy spiritual and environmental speeches, his clothes or his tendency to run like a girl. (back when he still had the ability to run)
"It's like he's not human. He's some kind of indestructible supernatural being who casually handles anything and anyone that comes his way." And that's exactly what he demands.
