  • Mount Hood is the second most climbed volcano in the world. Most of the climbers reach the summit via the South Side Route. If you are interested in the various other, more technical routes, come join Portland Mountain Rescues's Matt Zavortink and Micah Hoover who will walk you through the dangers of the lesser known routes and the beauty of the mountain. .

This video is a 10/10. Excellent video that was informative, detailed, and most importantly- useful. No time wasted and all info was applicable and relevant. Really appreciate all the information and the work it took to create this video. Well done PMR. -Wesley Clarillos

This is an excellent video. Exactly what I was looking for to educate myself on the potential hazards of climbing Mount Hood. Thanks for making it.

Just about 15 minutes into the video and I must say it is one of the best. Thank you very much!

    Hood's 'hog's back' route is just a dog's run.
I sat on the Hog's Back and watched a Black Lab climb to the Pearly Gates with its owner.
He did carry her down the steep part though on the way out.

Analog Altimeter/ barometer and compass, 7.5 minute USGS Quad map with KNOWLEDGE ON THEIR USE is a dam good idea. Don't rely on your android phone. A May or June sunny day can go white out on you and you are blind and lost without them

@@carlosmoreno9094so you’re claiming mount Washington isnt a mountain despite having 4000+ feet of elevation gain and the worst weather on earth? Just because its below 3000 meters?
