Thiem's title count doesn't match how great he really was. He went toe to toe with the big three in their era. If not for the injuries he would have been a multi-slam winning player no doubt.
@@ism7588I’m not sure about that his head to head against Djokovic 5-7 against Nadal it’s 6-10 and against Federer it’s 5-2. Look at the Djokovic one this is an younger Djokovic than the one that has an even h2h against sinner and Alcaraz
I would think that’s Agassi’s Sampras 2001 US match. Literally no breaks of serve! But this one’s gotta be close. On the other hand, Nadal has undoubtedly been part of the greatest AO match ever(2012 final), the greatest Wimbledon match ever(2008 final), and the greatest RG match ever (2013 SF). He’s only missing the greatest US match which has got to be Borg McEnroe’s 1980.
One of the most beautiful matches I have ever watched. I remember staying up until 8 am ET and then went straight to work without sleeping at all. So sad that Thiem never reached his full potential.
@@nguyenhung9539 always excuses bad loser like the spaniard, he gets injury when he lost , right??. Pathetic sure in 2015 too he lose to djokovic and he was injury right, and in olympics match too, good logic
3 TBs with many lucky net shots that won him this match. Thiem was lucky to win this vs. Nadal. In the end Novak cooked him. Pity it wasn't Nadal. Would love for Nole to have 3-0 H2H in AO.
@@Karen_McAlllister Lucky net shots or not, Thiem was the better player- as I keep saying, Nadal can be beaten on hard court, he's not invincible, just challenging to play, Novak isn't the only one, to be able to beat him on hard court, Murray, Federer, Wawrinka, Zverev, and a handful of others have done it, even Medvedev would have beat him at Ao2022- if it wasn't for that corrupt umpire.
On hard court, Nadal thought they would change back to clay, sorry, Thiem earnt this one, much better on hard court than clay, which is why he won Zverev at the U.S open 2020.
Djokovic was lucky to not face a fresher thiem at the Quarterfinals. He faced a tired a Thiem who had to beat Fritz, Rafa and Zverev. Djokovic had 38 year Old Roger in the semis who was half injured
There was a brief period between 2019 and 2020 when Nadal vs Thiem was actually the best matchup on tour.
They are not the best player in these 2 years
@@letrantrung1 yes they were
Their rivalry started in 2017..in 2016 they played twice
@@letrantrung1 I didn't say they were. I said hey were the most interesting matchup
@@Madferit91 the most interesting matchup = the best matchup?
Nadal vs Thiem on hard courts was pure gladiator stuff. US open 2018 encounter was their best match and this a close second.

If not for the injuries, Rafa would have had 30 GS.
The new generation is lucky to not face Thiem before his injury
That bloody Austrian net that night...
One of my favorite tennis matches ever! The ground strokes from both were insane but especially from Thiem.
This is what i was waiting for... more condensed matches please
I will miss that backhand of dominic thiem😢❤
A healthy Thiem would have won at least 2 slams in 2024.
In 2021 2022 and 2023
If domi was not injured and play with the level of this match today he would easy destroy Sinner and Alcaraz

you could find matches of theirs and say the same thing
Sinner and Alcaraz are 2 of the absolute best. It would be a good game but it’s not fair to say that theim would destroy them.
I agree with you
This match was so high level
I wish we got a longer rivalry between these two. The 2018 US Open match was the best.
This is arguably the best 4 set match of all time
Djokovic Nadal RG 21 much better in my opinion

A class act
Now 2013 Djokovic vs wawrinka condensed please
Thiem deserved to win a RG, it's just a shame the 2 years he beat Djokovic he ran into Nadal in both finals
Only by defeating Rafa in the final of RG does one really earn the RG crown.

Cilic vs Rublev 2022 Full Match please
Thiêm đã thi đấu một trận đấu rất hay, có lẽ hay nhất trong sự nghiệp
Thiem hit AT LEAST 30 net cords in these highlights!
Its hard to tell, but dont you think thisis better than Alcaraz or Sinner? Just a personal idea
For me it is.
It surely is!! Way Way intense
No I don't think so . Watch sinner alcaraz us open 2022 and Beijing match this year .
