Dang you are fast! lol I did not know the PMI had this information available. I have about 18 years of experience in the plants (construction)/maintenance) in Louisiana and make over $100,000 a year without being a project manager or manager. I will schedule for about1- 2 years to get a better understanding of the scheduling, critica path, and estimating. Then I will jump into project management. So many times there are jobs offered and they say “ what’s your expected salary”? Now I ask the range cause I know I’ve shot myself in the foot many times by “just trying to get in the door” then the pay is below the job responsibilities and the raises will never catch up to what you should make. Also, most ppl technical lead projects etc but do not hold the title or get paid for it. That needs to be reflected on the resume even if your title does not say it. I’ve seen ppl not get jobs due to that. They can explain it in the interview but it is not on the resume. Kind of wanting do something besides the plants
Question is PM an temporary regarding to project or can it be a full time permanent Job I’m interest in doing construction pm starting from no knowledge or experience training also what be a good start to begin I’m currently changing into this career field from healthcare customer service #Atlanta
@ that is a good one. Just may require some traveling depending on what company you work for. I would start researching drawings and plans online to get a understanding of what goes into constructing and finishing a build. This could be the same for house constructions. Learn about permitting as well. With you having a background in health care, do some research on HS&E as well. This could get you started as well. There’s always a need for safety on job sites.
Thank you Jessica 😊
