Thank you Emma, excellent content! I am a civil engineer in a project engineer type role but am looking to pursue PMP certification to move into a more solid PM career path. I am excited to start the journey. Cheers to my fellow Colombians here!
That's awesome - I hope you found this data helpful. The PMP ROI in COLombia (got it right this time!) is incredible. I wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors!
HI, I currently work as a senior treasury analyst for a big commodity trading company. I was looking into getting a PM certification. I´m quite an introvert and being on calls all day would really exhaust me. Would you describe the daily tasks of a PM being like that? Or could you get by mostly doing email and other forms of communication? I was part of some big projects on my company. But I mainly did tests and Weekley catch up calls regarding the project. I´m glad I found your channel. Great content you got here. Keep it up 🙌
Yeah, it's lower here in my country. Good thing the cost of living is a lot lower too. But Project Managers in general are on the high end of salary spectrum.
Do you think its worth it to get PMP Certificate if I already have a BS degree in Project Management? I have 6yrs of PM experience and my income aligns with someone that has a PMP certificate for reference.
Hi! Thank you soo much for this video. I am finishing up my MBA in may and still looking for a Summer Internship in PM. I've been applying to lots of job postings but I suspect my lack of extensive experience is not helping. If you or anyone here can help with resources, references, or a possible offer please reply to this comment! I'm eager to learn I just need to be given a chance. Thanks
Hi Mumu, I think something very overlooked is communication skills & charisma. If you can develop these it will give you a great edge even if you don’t have the so-called hard skills yet. Another thing is to tap the network that you already have when looking for work & trying to break into a new industry I hope everything is going well on your search
Thanks for watching & I'm glad you liked the demonstration of the website with the pay information! My goal is to share resources available so people know where/how to get help!
Yeah here in Pakistan USD13K is actually considered a privileged salary. Mainly because cost of living is substantially less as compared to US. But yeah not as good of a value as in other countries because of lack of job availability.
Hi Uzair - thanks for chiming in! That's good to know it's considered a good salary - I wonder if ever you'd be able to work remotely for a U.S. or Canada based company and make more!
@@RecipeforSuccess1 Yeah actually all freelance platforms consist of around 70% Pakistani people. And many tech companies have already started coming to Pakistan in search of affordable employees
What would be the best path to PMP when it comes to courses and certificates? Let's say I start with the Google Coursera certificate then try to get a CAPM. What's next? Just wondering cause I want to optimize my path, meaning I don't wanna be taking a lot of courses that basically just teach the same thing.
Hi Roberto -I don't know enough about your specific background to give you a direct answer, but it's important to note that the CAPM is the certification (not a course). Same thing with the PMP (certification, not course). In order to get the PMP and CAPM, you need certain number of education hours from having taken a PM course like Google Coursera (which also offers a certificate). Depending on if you already have a job or not as a PM, you don't need the CAPM in order to sit for the PMP. However, the PMP requires project management experience. Your path could look like: 1. Google Coursera -> PM Job -> PMP 2. Google Coursera - CAPM -> PM Job -> PMP 3. PM Job -> Some PM prep course -> PMP I hope that answers your question.
This is a helpful question because I'm taking a CAPM exam prep course now. I'm hoping to get a PM job after passing the CAPM exam and then continuing on to get a PMP. This was very validating and grounding advice. Thank you!!
Thanks for the information. However, I would like to ask you if you have written correctly the name of my country since it is not Columbia but COlombia.
Hi Moises - well...that's embarrassing! My apologies - thank you for calling out the mistake. I've updated that within the description and will review the video titles.
There is no problem! It's actually a common mistake between English speakers. By the way, your channel is awesome and has helped me to decide what kind of courses to take. 😁
Hi Nie - Honestly, I think it depends. Most of the time you need to be available when your team/stakeholders are available so while you might not always be 'working then', I do think it's important to be available. Yes, you can answer email, and work on your own time, but you will still need meetings with your team & stakeholders. I hope that helps answer your question.
Hi Emma, Thank you so much for this content! I have some questions regarding resume help and I have recently emailed you, hoping to hear back from you soon. 😀
Hi Shobhit - Yes! PMI actually parses out the data based on country and India is included. Here's the link: www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/public/pdf/learning/pmi_salary_survey_12th_edition_freeversion_final.pdf?v=53b1371a-42f5-43d4-af9f-8e2bc7fa4c0b Enjoy!

Hi Richard - that seems like a good balance! Where are you based out of?
I passed the PMP 2 days ago and didn't see any salary increase
Hi Mr Music -did you share with your employer the good news? Congrats on passing!
115 is way more then what I need but I will take it!
Haha surpluses are nice! Opportunity to set some aside & save!
What certifications match well with PMP in business, what certifications conflict with a PM resume when applying for a company?

I;m a former preschool teacher. Is there that much more training for me to do to break into this field?

Living in Switzerland is way expensive, specially in Zurich.
Hi Miguel - thanks for chiming in! I was wondering if that was partly why the pay is so high! Do you think it's more expensive than NY/LA?
Thanks for the information. However, I would like to ask you if you have written correctly the name of my country since it is not Columbia but COlombia.

Hello! With being a project manager can you chose your own hours?
