I've ran this in my garage my for 3 years. Exact one. Never had an issue. It works great just give it a min and the room it's rated for will be cool. I have it in a room way bigger than what it's rated for and it cools it
Thank you. You showed me where the air filter was on this model!!! Now hopefully cleaning it will get rid of the error code I have. Note that I have used this air conditioner for 2-3 years with no issues... Note that vibration noise is NOT something I have had, so possibly someone took it apart or a screw is loose? One comment is that the company website is utterly useless...
The vibration was nothing serious. Sometimes if the rear radiator is clogged, it will show an error code. You might be able to look up the code online.
Today is July 24, 2024. I bought an "ebay-new" one for $95.19 + 7.5% tax (my state, VA, charges 6% so this extra $1.43 must be the mandatory tip), from BullseyeDeals, which is now out of stock. I wouldn't have bought it except for the "free returns" feature, as this model is hardly a prize pig and I expected trouble, at this price. It was a Target return but my main concern was, "will it work?", since it's going into a shed, not a guest bedroom. It's too noisy to use in a bedroom, but does cool well, at least with the lengthy 1 hour test I put it through. Here are some numbers you may not find elsewhere. There are 2 fan speeds. BOTH USE 54W. What does that tell you? My guess is they are simply using a resistor to divert some of the Wattage you paid for. You might as well leave it on high. Remember a room AC compressor has only 1 speed and the fan speeds are to make you feel like you are controlling something, like that "door close" button on an elevator. All ACs start with their lowest Wattage and as the compressor heats up, the Wattage increases. In my test, I placed the thing on a crate in front of a storm door, with the glass raised to expose a foot of screen. The unit was 6" from the door but the hot air seemed to be proceeding through the screen door as planned. Outside it was 81. Inside it was 75. I turned the knob to max cool. When it began it used 376W. At 5 minutes it used 395W. At 25 minutes it reached its maximum current draw of 414W. This will vary with your inside and outside temperatures. In one hour I used 0.4kWh. My electric company charges 15 cents per kWh so the cost to run this thing at max output under these conditions was 6 cents per hour, or $1.44/day. The official Energy Star rating is CEER 11, and their estimate of the cost to run for a season in some mythical place where summer is only 3 months long and you only need AC 8 hours a day, and the electric company gives away electricity at 13 cents . . . is $44. No use looking for a more efficient one as all are said to cost $40-$46. Finally, at 6 minutes the output air dropped to its lowest temperature of 47-50 degrees, varying with the position I measured. The deflectors do essentially nothing, either horizontally or vertically. I have no idea if it will last weeks or months, but I am happy with my purchase. The best feature it has is NO APP, just two knobs like in the 1950s. While it might work in a bedroom with a deaf person, don't even think about using it near someone who dislikes noise. For 3-4 times as much you can get a quiet Midea. For the commenter below who says the Chinese tried to burn his house down, the word you seek is "G...F...C...I". It entered our lexicon 63 years ago.
I guess it’s just a matter of chance. I’ve had mine for 3 summers in Virginia humidity, which is pretty hope & totally different thank Midwest or West humidity heat. Such as 85 degrees is VA feels WAY hotter than 100 degrees in Colorado. I know cuz I lived in both. So easy coast, especially southern east cost is very humid and I’ve had window units die after a summer. This exact same model comes with a remote control & has lasted 3 hot summers & it’s still running. They are cheap, but all the 5000 but’s are pretty cheap. It’s a Walmart brand I think. I have a TCL 55 inch flat screen tv that has the roku built in and it’s a just as good as my Sony upstairs. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this brand. As long as you take it out the window every fall & clean & store it. Then wipe everything down good before you put it back up, it will prob last just as long as any. I also like the remote control that comes with it. I turn the save energy mode on at night or if we are gone during the day so it will only run if the temp gets below whatever I set it. But I have a 3 story house so this AC is only used in my master bedroom cuz I like it cold. The rest of the house uses central air, but I will say the thermostat is in the hallway outside this bedroom so it causes the thermostat to turn off and not use as much energy. The only question I have for this guy is why doesn’t this model have drainage holes. The only issue I had last year was the line got clogged and water ran inside the house. So I took it out the window and cleaned it. It’s been working fine. I just wondered why it doesn’t have a drainage hole. I think it’s to make it more energy efficient, but I’m not sure. So if someone know how to keep it clean from the inside without having to take it out and down 3 stories to clean until fall comes, it would be great. I was thinking about using some of those blue pan cleaners, but would like to know if that will help my problem. Thank you!!
Hi i just order the newer smart TCL 10,000 window ac and wondering if its goin to last. Im replacing my LG 10,000 btu that is 20 years old. Does anyone know if the TCl brand is any good & will last ? Im really thinking about sticking with the LG brand
i have the same tcl but its a 6k btu and has a blue coil and its lasted a while i thought the sticker was faded too but its a clear sticker for some reason
Another one with a GMCC compressor. This unit is the same as the frigidaire ffre06 and the Midea. I have a Denali Aire, and a Perfect Aire that both look identical to the TCL unit, only differennce is the name. I think there is only one company making these and just labeling them with different names. Notice how they all use GMCC compressors. Same chassis and wrapper cover, just a different front panel. Do you have any programs that are looking for working used window units to donate to the needy? You could donate these instead of scrapping them. The local church here where i live takes working units and gives them to people in need. They actually prefer the newer efficient ones.
Yes there's many of these that are all the exact same unit inside. frigidaire, midea, arctic king, ocean breeze. I don't know if they're all made by frigidaire(electrolux) or what. I only scrap ones that don't work and aren't worth fixing, I sell the rest.
It showed me where the filter is... I did not want to take it out of the window and did not have room to look on the right hand side due to furniture. With a bad knee, the less heavy lifting I do the better.
Two purposes: to demonstrate an used AC before selling it, or because there are people who likes watching Air Conditioner as a hobby or ASMR, similar to making videos about elevators or washing machines.
It's in big writing right there dude. MADE IN CHINA. They usually make the best stuff in the world but not this. There's dark oily looking liquid in the reset button that leaked out everywhere til the plastic button went flat like a flat tire. LITERALLY. Why is there liquid in a reset button and that can and did leak out? Almost burned my home down and I've only had it for one year. What's so funny is I can't stand us made stuff because most of it is junk. I have ALL kinds of things from China that I've had for over 20 years and they STILL WORK. So I was ranting and raving saying more us made JUNK just to find out it was made in China hahahaha. I'm like SOOOO disappointed. I IOVE stuff made in China and still do. But I can't help but to laugh after seeing this video because it's usually always the us that makes junk and still does. But do be careful because on the serious side it did almost burn my home down. Wait.....I'm still going to stick up for china a little bit here because this is suspicious. I thought the us was their enemy and also certainly wouldn't tell us to wear masks because of a certain so called sickness that came from there and then still be selling us stuff from there. Naw! The us wouldn't do that would they? Obviously yes they would. Mine is only one year old. Or is chin a being set up by the us taking us junk and plastering a sticker on the side that says made in chi na? Lol. Hmm......😳
I have this model... unless you mean the circuit breaker on the cord, mine does not have a "reset" button. And I do not see any dark oily liquid in my circuit breaker buttons.

This unit was made inhouse by TCL themselves.

TCL generally makes lower end electronics. I guess Zhongshan Ltd is the manufacturer and TCL is just a brand they used
i have the same tcl but its a 6k btu and has a blue coil and its lasted a while i thought the sticker was faded too but its a clear sticker for some reason
I have this exact AC and it’s makes a really loud noise. Anyone know how to fix it?
It’s not cold I brought it last year use it a couple months now this year it’s a mess

@@airconditionersexposed I believe that they are pretty much made by Midea.
Tcl is the maker
Wow that’s a nice ac
Thanks
I'm not sure what the point of the video is. It offers nothing... no installation instructions, no repair info, nothing useful.
The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the unit if it's still works or not
And plus this unit isn't brand new. It was found in a curb
It showed me where the filter is... I did not want to take it out of the window and did not have room to look on the right hand side due to furniture. With a bad knee, the less heavy lifting I do the better.
The one I got came with the instructions but I accidentally threw it out with the box so this video is what I needed.
