Damn man, for $40 that is literally all you need for song writing as long as it's mixed properly. I can't believe what we can get now a days for next to nothing. Back in the day a kit like this would have been only attainable by recording at a really expensive spot. Amazing work Nolly
Was not expecting Misery Signals to get mentioned, but definitely a welcome surprise. Branden is one of my all time favorite drummers and that ride sounds incredible
By sheer coincidence, I was at work the other day when Blink 182 popped into my head, and I suddenly got the meaning of "Take off your pants and jacket"
It's called Pop Punk but man I can really see a ton of different applications for this. Definitely going to fill in a niche I was looking for, for sure. Easy pickup. Keep it up GGD Team.
I was so close to never buying another software kit again, because I have far too many… but I just had to, this is pretty much what I’ve been asking you for for years and now you mad lads have finally done it! Right down to the SJC shells which I specifically requested lol now I need you to show me how to multi-out in Kontakt 7 because I don’t like change and was sad to have to upgrade to 7 to make this work. But maaaaaaan does this one tickle my fancy. Might be on my next project on the final; save me time dialing in drum sounds since this is what I was going for.
This is super cool, pop punk drum sounds are super nice and it's good to see them captured. I love those just ringing metal snares and kick attack for fast foot work. I kind of hope to see a full library of like pop-punk/emo kind of drums so I could do full drum mixes for those kinds of genres. Various kicks with very clicky attack, maybe even one kick with plastic beaters and a good selection of just high tuned, ringing snares to cut through. I'm thinking like early Thrice and New Found Glory type drum sounds that I can route and mix fully myself. [Edit]: I was wrong, I set up the OKW Pop-punk with my normal drum routing and did a full mix and it sounded amazing. I was able to use different eq, comp, and parallel/master to get my own unique and powerful drum mix. I just love how cutting and aggressive you cam make this sound, I want to try it for some Hardcore riffs.
This is my favorite snare and bass drum sound out of all that GGD libraries... love it! Only thing I can complain about are those thin sounding cymbals. So I actually use OKW Modern Fusion for cymbals and mix that in... also for a bit of snare brassy sound underneath that smacky Pop Punk snare^^ Great combo indeed!
Before I jump into buying this AMAZING sounding product, could somebody answer two questions for me please. Sorry if they are obvious! 1) Will I be able to just buy this and load it up in Reaper as a virtual instrument, or is there a ton of other stuff I have to have downloaded/bought before this will work? 2) Does it come with grooves/fills at different tempos/time signatures that I can actually edit, or have I got to play everything in myself? I don't have a midi keyboard linked to my set up so was hoping it was similar to MT power drumkit where there is a groove that can be dragged and dropped in, then edited with extra snares, ghost notes, different bass drum patterns, extra cymbals, etc to taste. Thanks in advance. Hoping to buy very soon if I can get some info on the above 🤞
Sounds so amazingly wonderful 🎉❤! Really wish he would make a template for them! Including parallel compression bus’ and with a top down mix in it so we could just drop this kit in and start creating ❤ but absolutely amazing!
With the new features available in the Logic 10.8 update and the ability to use the logic drummer with 3rd party plugins, could you please update your midi mapping presets to include a logic drummer preset? Would be super rad to use GGD drum kits like the pop punk kit in conjunction with the logic drummer for song writing. Also, maybe add some midi mapping presets for e-kits like the Roland TD-17 at some point. I know the triggers can be mapped manually but getting the hi hats to work has been confusing. Thanks for your time!
Really, really cool drum kit - once again GGD nailed it :-) I love (and own) the Invasion drum kit, I make progressive metal inspired by Dream Theater, Symphony X, Pagan’s Mind… I WOULD LOVE to get some octobans with that kit… So how about making some kind of an add-on? Or maybe a HUGE Mike Portnoy kit? Not a OKW of course… Peace ❤
Hey man, what you could do is find the beats you want with drummer using any of the kits like usual. Then create a new software instrument track, drag down the drummer track which will automatically convert into midi notes, and then apply the plug-in onto that new track with the midi information. All you need to make sure of is that the note mapping is correct, which you could do manually, or assign the same notes in the piano roll from that drummer tracks midi information to a new preset in the GGD software. I hope this helps!

The "In the 90s, before you were born, drums sounded a bit more like this" preset ☠
Puttin us zoomers on blast
💀
This is *the* snare sound I’ve been looking for!! Awesome
same!
Honestly same
Same here dude
Something tells me the shoegaze and alt metal applications will be thoroughly explored
That snare would almost sound at home on a Deftones album
I second that I want it just for the snare

Sounds amazing. Love the punch and brightness of everything on here
I would love to see a GGD Periphery V: Djent Is Not a Genre kit done! The snare on that album is insane and I need it in my life!
Wish granted lol
Sounds so good, Nolly; great work!
This is clearly GGD's response to ML Drums! Awesome!

They ain't ready for my Loathe and Thornhill covers
Nolly and GGD team - this is amazing!! Also question, when is the nu metal kit coming? Some OCDP drum samples would be amazing!
hey ! awesome video ! :) Is it possible to only have the sample to put them on steven slate trigger 2 for example ??

That snare is begging to be thrown in a prog metal mix
Frankenkit time
@@maxalaintwo3578 Absolutely
What a rad kit! Just installed and playing around with it. Great job, guys!

I like that snare sound
this is just incredible and i am so happy this was made, my only other request would be to have pop punk drum midi grooves for purchase as well.
This sounds great, the snare and toms sound so good
Dude a Custom Shop OCDP from that era would've been absolutely amazing! They straight up were the drum sound of 2000's Warped Tour bands

Wow never though id be able to listen Nolly talks about blink 182!!
Amazing kit! A no brainer!
Now, would it be too much to have a Nolly mixing class with this demo song?!?
It sounds amazing!
Congrats guys! Cheers!
I gotta smash this with my Roland TD-17. Awesome!
We need a raw kit with cranked snares like that!!
is it better than ezdrummer pop punk?

Use this kit on my livestreams ❤

Great sounding kit!)
Bateria perfeita para o pop punk. Perfect drum for pop punk. Shut up and take my money. Very good. Thanks
Hi. Great sound :) does the pack also include midi patterns? Thx!

The drum programming is top notch!
After bying roland Vad drums, Packs like these are way more fun to buy 😁
I love this brand so much
is there a guide how to use this plugin?
Really cool!
This make sounds really good.
Literally the best mash up I could ask for: Nolly's recording skills with a natural sounding Travis Barker style kit. Amazing 🙌
Which ggd library has a "stick on snare" "click" sample?
Is there a way to remove the individual pieces from the sample pool on this library?
I think you have to purge samples on Kontakt and then only hit the pieces you want at the velocities you want
That is fantastic.Could you show us how to use this with Reaper please?
...is there a way for this kit to be played by logic x's drummer? is there any tutorial..?regards

you can now with the Logic update, just set it as the instrument. you'll need to adjust the routing though
Not to take away from this release… but when is Nu-Metal next? 👀
This might be it… just listen to „Kilkus - a.o.c.“ ^^
You could definitely use this for Nu Metal Jon Otto from Limp used the same kit as Travis Barker, just obviously different setup but same brand.
Was the snare cranked to a "G" ?
Why does Nolly's nose look fake
Or was it on eBay
I would love to see nolly use this kit for a metalcore mix..
guys that's nolly fro ggd
Still waiting on OKW - Troy Wright 🤷🏻♀️
Its dope, as all the others are, but this one fits my style more.
haha in the 90 before you were born.
Jesus christ that china is zexy sounding
No brainer.
