    I took the Flux branding course, which was great, but I think there's some important information on the YT videos that could be expanded on in the course. For instance, I would like to have seen: 1. making style scapes (not just a mood board) + a resource doc template, 2. making a style guide + resource doc template. It's also helpful to know, as she pointed out, how long it takes. As a beginner, I don't really know what is a reasonable amount of time to take.
    To clarify, by resources document, I mean an actual editable document to work with, such as a Figma document. I don't know if that's unreadable to request, if it's copying someone else's work, but to be honest I assumed I would be getting comprehensive editable temples to work with when I purchased the course. At least from my perspective, it seems like an obvious recourse to provide to students.
    I appreciate that Rachel did provided a document of the slides in the video to Flux's resources, however it is kind of useless because there is far less information, and its just a PDF. Since it's just a PDF I have to watch this video, pause it, and build my own template in Figma so that I have a framework for presenting a style guide to a client. Another point to make about this is that I'm not actually getting any benefits for the $800 price tag I paid to have access to resource docs if I have to come to YT to extract the information to build my own from scratch.
    I love all at Flux, and this comment is in the spirit of improving the course, not a jab at Rachel or Flux.

      really appreciate this comment. I am also considering the flux course and this would have been my exact expectation as well considering the price point of the course. The templates seen in the youtube videos look great - functional, strategic and visually beautiful. It's understandable if these are proprietary items but at least I would expect some kind of non-branded materials from a paid course to get us started

    This was so good. I've been trying to develop a process through a lot of trial and error. Really helpful to have it all in one place.
    It'd be really good to have a bit of a tutorial on style guides, I feel like it's not something that's talked about enough. I've seen many that aren't thought out and are just slapped together.

    Hi Rachel, I was facing an issue & i don't know what to do. I showed my client 2 moodboards for his event hall logo redesign but he asked me to provide some more concepts. I asked politely what kind of feeling he is searching for but he replied that he is confused. How to fix this issue? How to read his mind? 😶

      @@rachelhurry3449 I'm looking at the resource doc now, what you provided is different, and less content, than the document seen on this video. For instances, the brand attributes slides...etc. Can you provide this exact template in the resource docs? It's helpful for understanding. I took your branding course, which was great, but to be honest I'm still confused about a many things. A lot can be learned from looking at an example of your work. Also, the document your provide in the recourses is a PDF, not editable. It would be better to provide a Figma document link so we beginners have a solid starting point to work from.

    I love the brand strategy phase but I wonder how many clients would be willing to go through this phase. Many of the clients I have worked with have no clue what they want and it can feel like pulling teeth.

    • @vs5198
      @vs5198 Рік тому +1

      Agree! Most of the clients I have just want a pretty logo/website without spending time and money for the strategy, they say the know their clientele and don't need to spend time on this. This is wrong and I try to explain the process, but still only few clients agree to go through this discovery stage. This is upsetting.
