Why people would say the last airbender movie is better than this show is something I will never fathom
Many people loved this show than the previous film.
If they think that then there something wrong with there head

Kiawentiio was stiff at some scenes but you can tell (as she said herself too) that she tried to show how Katara's confidence grew in only 8 episodes and she did a great job! ❤
I thought her acting was stiff and awkward at first but realised in a way her version of katara makes sense when you consider her coming from a small secluded tribe, traumatised by mother’s death and forced to hide her bending overall i enjoyed the show and loved how they portrayed their characters so 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Lol this just feels like you’re searching for a reason to excuse bad acting. Hopefully they get this girl in an acting class cause holy shit that was a disappointing adaptation of Katara.
I didn’t mind the overall changes to Katara, love the change that she actually saw her mother pass away firsthand, knowing it was to save Katara. Makes her grief and motivation that much more impactful. That scene gave me chills. I didn’t like that she became “her own master” though, felt like they did a disservice to Pakku as a character. But my biggest problem by far is the actress’s lack to well... act.

@@brendon.officialyou wrote so much, yet so little. How exactly is she bad at acting? As she seemed to portray all of the emotions and subtle cues extremely well to match the basis for her character. It may be different than the og character, but you can definitely see her skill, or at least I can.
This Katara is different, but her character development still makes sense. The OG Katara was always feisty, intimidating, and confident right from the start. This New Katara went from being reserved, to more confident. She is still observant; just like how she learned the ice discs. And then also became feisty and intimidating.

I mean, he's kinda right. she doesn't have the personality of katana. she's not caring, or hopeful, and she doesn't connect with aang very much. she's just a water bender. that's her fundamental personality. sure, she has SOME tidbits of personality, she's kinda feisty, pretty friendly, a bit shy, but that's not who she is, or who katara is, at heart. old katara was a caring, motherly, and hopeful young girl. new katara is a cool water bender who looks like she's trying to not get her face stolen by Koh.@@seignee
Katara here was more reserved and observant, character development was made as she gradually developed her skills and improved her character as she keeps learning new things. I love the actress and I hope she would improve her portrayal in the later seasons.
Im worried that they will remove her motherly attitude towards toph in season 2 and 3, hopefully they keep it I always enjoyed their banter

@@All-ze9cl she always has been the younger sibling though? she just had a lot of responsibility and trauma from a young age which made her develop a motherly nature
@@iridescent28 yeah, but they made sokka sixteen and kept her fourteen, and the way they’re writing it so far makes sokka the one who kind of takes the lead when it was her in the cartoons. She used to be the one who watched out for him, but we haven’t really seen that in the show yet
I think that this was the best adaptation we could have asked for. It is different than the original Nickelodeon series, but I think it is amazing. I can't wait to see Katara and Toph interacting together.

I legitimately don't understand the criticism towards this actress. I liked the main actors quite a bit! I'm looking forward to seeing how they grow in the next season.
people just need to express their frustation of their miserable life on someone else. 😂. shes perfect, pretty and her round face is just perfect to be a “water bending” person, if it makes any sense😂😂😂. Zuko is also perfectly “angular” and “sharp”.

Anime Katara can't be beat, but this version of Katara is a badass as well in her own way. 💪
all characters have been powered down in terms of skills, power, and character, but that's fine by my since it's live-action, it would be too awkward if they portray the comical prowess the animation has.
I liked how it show that she was creative, adaptive. And how the team had come to rely on her and her realizing from her journey not only she was more but she was better.

This actress got me worry, she was so stiff and non-reactive, but she started getting her feet on and slowly I stared into a new katara and fell in love with her journey.
I closed my Netflix account last year and I see I am going to restart it. Katara is a Beast.

Seriously, and I’m so tired of people bashing everyone who doesn’t like this version saying we’re just being negative for no reason. I expected things to be different but I didn’t think they were gonna strip the personality traits of the characters. Example: Katara not being a mother figure is INSANE 😭 Aang was sad and giving motivational speeches every 5 seconds, Sokka was angry and blatantly rude up until the last few episodes when his humorous side finally came out. Zuko, however, was spot on IMO
Wdym they respected the source material?! They made the more ruthless, perfectionist , confident, psychopath Fire princess into an emotionally unstable defiant child. Azula's character is butchered. not to mention she down right disrespected
Ozai right in his face when she refused to fight. But she gets rewarded with freedom outside? The last person that disrespected Ozai got Agni Kai-ed and he didn't even do it on purpose. Ill let you guess who that is. Don't get me started on Bumi...

Tears... thank you for your Tribute o the Katara spirit. In the animation she went lookinng for her mother, her mother was taken away... this is what turned her into a blood bender then she went with Zuko to find her mother and the man took her. Will be intersting to see how they resolve this.
They said her father went out of the village to fight, so maybe it will be something related to her father?

I love each and every one of these character tributes you've released. I don't know how you were able to put these together so quickly, but they are all absolutely amazing!
Omg this Katara is better than the last Katara in the last airbender movie that was made a long time ago. But the show definitely always tops the movies.

Hi I'm a disliker of Katara in the live action show
And I am not a troll or toxic, the way they wrote her is genuinely offensive. She does not feel like Katara, she does not feel like that strong female that she was in her original show. The voice of the group and the glue, it's just not therem

In the end, Katara was not always bold and feisty which Netflix showed loud and clear. When Zuko invaded their village, she definitely felt helpless and was fairly surprised that she stopped his attack as she and Sokka were saving Aang. When Katara prepared to face Zuko on Kyoshi Island, she was clearly nervous and was terrified when the prince cornered her and was going to finish her off.
When they reached the Northern Water Tribe, Katara decided to challenge Pakku and the sexist ways by dueling him. Unlike what Nickelodeon produced, this was calculated with Katara wanting to solely prove a point and she still knew she was no match for him. Afterwards, she got through to him by pointing out what was at stake if he would not relent on his pride to allow the women to help out. The confidence she had facing Zuko once again was amazing and it was with them being equals.

Here’s my take: the actress is actually pretty good at acting. Close your eyes at that final speech she gives Aang in episode 8, and she sounds emotional, it’s conveyed well. The only problem is that her facial expressions don’t really match that emotion she is conveying, she just seems to be looking up. She can act, but I personally think if she’s worked on her facial expressions a bit she would be 100% Katara

I love Katara in both versions! La Katara is too overhated, as she's got Katara's sass, spunk, and spirit! She doesn't necessarily have to be short-tempered to be fierce and confident.

Still prefer Animated Katar over this one.. especially in the fights. She was more aggressive towards zuko in their fight in the animated. In the Netflix, I felt like she was just there....
Ka'kwet came a long way from being trapped in the resedential schools. I am glad she is safe and can now defend herself with waterbending.
ok ive only heard mid things abt avatar live action, especially regarding katara but have not yet seen it myself. This video is very well done and makes me want to give it a chance, thought shes different she's her own version of katara and it looks like she plays the part well! Excited to watch

Being originally a First Nation herself, she suits the role well. Although the native homeland of Mohawk is near New York, far from Inuit people in Alaska and Greenland

Yes. It could've been better but i think it's the Director's or producer's fault. In her audition she looks way more intense and you can really see why they chose her. In the show most likely they asked her to water down her portrayal. I have faith they'll be able to improve

Showing kataras mother dying earlier in the show is hitting similar to showing ozais appearance so early. They made it work for them very well, still getting used to it but I feel the payoff will be worth it

Pakku won't even teach her even if she's clearly the best student he will ever have. The only reason why he agreed on teaching her was because Katara is the granddaughter of his first love. He did not teach Katara because he realized that women are good at combative waterbending too. He taught her out of his bias. Which is kind of disrespectful to Katara's skill and character. The live action decision not to make Master Pakku teach Katara, and and to forego the Gran Gran love story works because it legitimizes Katara's women empowerment story arc. Because in the end, Pakku realizes that the army the Northern Water Tribe has is clearly not enough in holding off the fire nation's attack. And by lowering his ego acknowledging that men need help as well, and the women are more than capable to fight is the best thing they could ever done with their character.

for me, so far, this adaptation is a hit compared to GOD AWFUL Last Airbender as does follow many ATLA Lore but u cant stretch the char dev and story in a movie or few episodes. You have to show compassion and love from animation to adaptation which IS POSSIBLE, heck many fan project shows this as true. I hope for future more passion is put into Live Action in general especially in US as many countries in use animation as medium and expression that LA cant do with limits. But I hope passion and care put more into this and more adaptations

For me this Katara is better because she is not Aang's mum any more. She is her own individual and shows more of her personality. Even though i love the original Katara her whole existence was around Aang. That is why she seems different here. Because they took out Kataang. Her overprotection and being Aang's love interest were what defined her the most in the cartoon, besides her caring of other people and her will to become better as a water bender.

They really took a complex, dynamic, integral character who drives the story and really struggles to develop into an incredible warrior and leader…and turned her into a shy, timid, character who is always following others, needs her brother and friends to approve of everything and who does nothing to earn her bending prowess and makes such little impact on the story so far. I’m so disappointed, Katara is my favourite in the og show and they did her so dirty
