Ik this is just an adaption of a show for children, but all of the characters are behaving different and knowing this makes watching the show a bit weird.

@@VELORAEDITS maturing the character doesn't mean changing it completely. They had their issues and now they don't. Sokka isn't sexist and sarcastic anymore, Katara is not motherly, Aang behaves way too serious for a goofy 12yo, Zuko didn't say the word honor even once.
These character traits gave the show it's fame. It's like remaking the Witcher and making Geralt's hair brown and not white.

I liked this changed. It makes sense. I don't like the spirit world changes tho. Feels weird.
@therealajzaini they didn't have time for all the individual spirit episodes, so they tried to mush them together so we can see all the spirits. Also the spirit world is pretty weird in ATLA, so it's not thay wrong that this can't happen...but I loved they brought up the mother of faces which is actually canon and comes in book 4 of the comic which wasn't was made into anime (remeber zuko asked ozai about his mother after becoming fire lord? This book deals with that... spoiler: his mother request this spirit (the mother of faces) to give her a new face and identity.
@@srisudharsrinivasan8336 I know about the comic of the mother of faces. I don't mind them adding it in. I was just expecting when they mush them together the writing could've been better. It just made me feel like i have to stop and understand what's going on before pressing play again. I understood all the reference they tried to mush together. Just it could've written a lot better.
Maybe it was because I watched it as a veteran fan of ATLA. Maybe new watchers might not feel what i feel.
@@therealajzaini I think people are way too hard on this show but the main criticism I agree with is mushing multiple plots together into one episode. Seems clear to me they tried to fit in all of the important stuff from book 1 while lacking the time to do it properly. I think giving them more episodes will be the best fix for this. Hopefully Netflix or whoever makes that decision will see that give it to them.

Literally! Like the main story had some good and bad, but zuko and irons story was absolutely amazing. Bumped the show from a 5 to 7 for me. Everything they added was super good too. That funeral scene was so good I wish it was in the cartoon

Whenever I see someone say that Jet's actor should have played Zuko, I'll link them this video. I can't understand how someone can watch the show and not see how perfect Dallas Liu is as Zuko
His voice even sounds similar to animation
They are the perverted girls who think Zuko is a handsome heartthrob when he was always clumsy, awkward and hypersensitive, Dallas Liu plays him perfectly.
He is him Sokka and Ang were great and suki those actors NAILED it and he did great as zuko a little more anger but definitely potential
@@izumirikka6730i considered zuko a "heartthrob" BECAUSE he was clumsy, awkward, emotional, sarcastic etc. the third book and part of the second really showed that he was just a teenager in awful circumstances. I haven't had the time to watch the netflix show yet, but I'm willing to go in open minded.

I liked the show and zuko was the main reason why. seriously dallas did an incredible job and it feels like the creators actually brought animated zuko to life perfectly

I love how they have enriched Zuko and Iroh and their relationship in this Adaptation. Even reframing Zuko's Crew development from The Storm to instead be the division that he stood up for not wanting them to get slaughtered - and their their recognition at the end for him is just.. so moving, and really highlights what makes Zuko such a good Firelord by the end of his story.
Both him, and Aang (and most of the other Gaang tbf) are really good examples of being in a world that tells them how things are meant to be and should be, but they show that a different path can work - especially with those who are strong in their motivations and convictions to see it through. The fact that they are pushing this and laying the seeds for it from the start (to then pay-off by the end with the Ozai fight in Book 3) is reaaaaally beautiful to see.
Not even close. The acting is cringe and they look too clean and dowsed with makeup to be taken serious. Chucky cheese level acting makes it a 1/10. Worse than the movie for sure

Ok, now this is enough reason to watch the show, then. From the clips I’ve seen so far, the acting doesn’t really land it for me, except for Dallas Liu’s Zuko. I like the idea that Zuko earns the respect of his troopers, because it means that he already has had that honor long before he even realized.

Zuko is captured well. His compassion from before and the bitterness and rage now.
I don't give a shit about the critics and the crazy fans obsessed with criticizing everything, I need more of Dallas Liu's Zuko, if he did this with Zuko from the 1st book I can't imagine how impressive he will be in books 2 and 3. I need to see more of he!
I was full on tears streaming down by face at Lu Ten's funeral, when Zuko reached out the way he did, but then when he sat down with him too instead of just walking away like everyone else, I actually bawled a little. They really enriched the relationship between the two in this, regardless of what anyone else says about the show.
Don’t lie. This show is cringe and there’s no life in the acting at all, it feels like walking into a cosplay or Disney world level acting. Be smarter than that, “oooh ahhh cool effects, fan service! Drink the coolaid!” Grow up

give Dallas an high budget cinema role with other great actors like him because he was my favorite this tv show. Hell I won't complain if we get a whole Zuko only season ahahah
After 5 episodes, I knew already Zuko was an antihero (I never watch the anime at all). But I love his character and his story, especially his relationship with his uncle Iroh. He's probably one of my favorite characters, if not the most favorite.

Prince Zuko gave up everything as he cares not only about the Fire Nation but the people as well and him speaking out in the War Room about the 41st to then the people of the 41st learning why they are there is just a powerful scene from his crew not respecting him to then his crew finally understanding they are alive because of what he did as a fan of the animated show I felt like Netflix did a great job with this and the actors doing a great job tapping into the characters to live action did a excellent job and I hope to see it continue.
For me ... Zuko ,Zhao , iroh , cabbage man , jet and his crew and of course the goat kyoshi were the best in this show ... Their actors did a great job 💯🔥🔥

I continued to watch that tv series only because of Zuko and his uncle. When he stayed with him in one of his most tragic moments, he became like the son he lost and when Zuko had to go to the mission to find the Avatar, his uncle went with him, because he doesn't want to lose again a son and even the words that everything he needs is on that boat shows that nothing unless his beloved nephew who was like his son was left on that world full with war and pain

Just like in the animation Zuko and Iroh are my favourite part of the show. And Jee was so good as well! I hope they make him more of a main character in this version of the story. With the additions they've made I think he's a vital part of Zuko's story now.

Always love Zuko in the animation and now love him more in this series. Dallas Liu brings him to life. I enjoy the live action because of him specially his fights! And his facial expression, just by looking at his eyes, feels so real for his anger, proud, sad and frustration. Thank you for this video so I don’t need to revisit the LA just to follow and enjoy Zuko part again and again, and have to skip or fast forward many scenes 😂 It summarize beautifully his arc in this session. I hope they give him more screen time in the coming S2 and S3. Even for Aang, the best scenes are when he has interaction with Zuko. So yeah, more Zuko more enjoyable for me to watch the LA.

Zuko reminds me of the character Cloud from the comic Storm Riders of artist Ma Wing-shing (馬榮城). Both of them suffered a lot, turned their backs to the world but last acted heroically for the people around them.

This actor is TRULY Zuko IRL. NO CAP! I can hardly tell the difference. He was more rough and aggressive, and also more emotional. You can actually see and hear his pain, ESPECIALLY in the scene where he talks with Aang after the breakout. And then in the end
