Heyy thanks for this tutorial. But I got an error on the offset right after shatter it says: "Offset plane must be provided if the curve is not planar itself". Any idea what to do? Thanks.
oops, just saw this. Use a planar curve (flat / 2d). the elevation is added in the grasshopper script, the curve must be flat for the stairs to be flat. It is possible to make this work with a non planar curve, by providing an xy plane node to the plane input, but I dont know why you would use a non planan curve?
Hello there, really helpful tutorial, but what would be the alternative to add a landing let's say every 10 steps (the landing still following the curve). Thank you !
After dividing the curve, you can delete (cull) some of the output parameters in the middle of the list. This way, you retain an undivided section in the middle of the flight of stairs. Hope this is helpful!
In the lofting the offset crvs step, mine will not allow me to have two wires entering the curves portion of the loft despite following your steps exactly
yea, you could take the curve, divide it into points, and use the tangent at those points to create the stairs. If you take the tangent and zero out the z coordinate and rotate 90 decrees around the z axis, you will have a vector. you can use the point and the vector to create a line that is the edge of a stair. good luck
hello, what if i need the curve to project on the other side? It is projecting on the right but I need it to be one the left side. Is there anything I need to add?
@@NickDrian thanks, and also, I can’t connect both the offset and the shatter to the loft. I’m doing my architecture project and I am dying for this to work

I go this too, using a spiral for the original curve

best tutorial for parametric spiral STAIRS on yt (for the rail i used other, cause u didnt build it xd) ! thanks a lot - helped me to achieve my m.sc!
Would it be possible to add a thickness to the entirety of the stairs? Really great tutorial❤
how do i make the inputs can you please explain

hold shift for multiple wires
@@NickDrian god bless you
Can the hight defined by the curve? I have a curve projected on a slope. I want to create stairs with that curve ?

Try inputing a negative number for the width of the staircase.

Not sure if the issue, just make sure to do the same grafting and simplifying that I did on the outputs of shatter and offset
@@scarletweidig2462 im running into the same issue, let me know if you found a solution in the end!
@@scarletweidig2462 just realised after i commented, hold down shift when you try to connect the second input lol
