A few of those trucks were attempting to merge by intimidation. I hate that. When I was a kid in the 1970's truckers were really popular. There were songs about them, tv shows and even a couple of movies. Thanks for another funny video, I always love the sound effects. Keep on truckin'! As they used to say. 😄
Truckers were much more professional in those days than they are now. Now many of them are just using their trucks to bully everyone else. 😢

@@AVCH Iirc, the clip cuts to the third collision and the officer doesn’t say anything when it happens so I think he exited his vehicle in between.

You are right, didn`t see that one.
Worst thing I witnessed was two large semis driving right next to each other on the highway and in heavy winds. One of them just lost it and started fish-tailing. It came shooting across the median and into on coming traffic. Amazingly there was a gap in the traffic and no one got hit, though as we've seen in these videos he was driving the wrong direction in the outside lane. If I'd been driving a bit faster on that road...
Strong winds are a big danger to truckers, hope they were okay.

5:08 no such thing regarding blind spots if use mirrors correctly it just an excuse . you take note every car/van what enters blind spot then that lane is closed till you see them ahead or far behind you do that with all other road users. and i even had an agreement from truck driver for 40 years and mirrors were a lot smaller back then. this was the rely from a retired truck driver so blind spot is just an excuse for lazy driving. ( I'm retired from driving large hgv now and I can confirm everything you said is spot on when I was training 40 odd years ago I was told basically use your mirrors more than your windscreen I always knew what was around me. There were no blind spot mirrors in those days just two smallish mirrors even on an artic But I still knew exactly what was around me.)

To answer your Q for the clip that starts at about the 6:03 mark, left turn and I'm fairly certain a load shift to the right and flip..it's called a load shift or shifted load.

I’ve been squeezed into the ditch by a little ridged box body truck. On a dual left turn junction I was second car behind a highway maintenance vehicle and as the light turned green everyone was moving off and I saw a little late that the box body had started changing lanes so I could just wait for the bang and hope for the best. @ 0:20 I didn’t know Tony hawk was a truck driver but judging by the trailer he still thinks it’s a skateboard
Did he crash into you or you two somehow managed to avoid the nasty situation?
@@AVCH the way I remembered it I heard the unmistakable sound of crunching metal and I ended up in the shallow ditch but no injuries just a bruised pride and a sideswiped left side of the car I drove at the time.

Some of those truck drivers brought lawsuits to their companies, or themselves, because of their driving. They also caused their insurance companies to pay out large sums for repairs or replacements. After watching those dash cam videos, if their driver was at fault, that driver should be fired. If it was an independent driver at fault, they should be black listed by the company they were hauling for.
One thing drivers don't remember or have forgotten is that the taller the vehicle, the higher the center of gravity. Because of this, curves and turns can't be taken at the same speed as a passenger vehicle. If the drivers try to speed through a curve or turn, more than likely, they'll spread their cargo all over the road.
And just because they're driving a semi, that doesn't mean they can go fast on icy or snow covered roads.
I agree for most part but sometimes mistakes happen and i don`t think all of these deserve that. :)

My dad was a truckie (Australian trucker for those who don't know). He would have ripped each and every last one of these fools so many new ones. If there was one thing he taught me about big rigs, it's don't mess with them. Ever. It is a SERIOUSLY bad idea. I've seen what can happen. Let's just say ick factor very high.
Back in the day i watched the show about Australian truckers, it was called Outback Truckers or something like that.

There is no where around my truck that I can't see a vehicle. All you need to do is adjust and use the mirrors. I can see the roof and 7"-8" of the window of a Camry out of the passenger window and over the hood. You are clearly visible in my mirrors.
Then in this case we can only blame the driver.
@@AVCH You are correct. Gotta look carefully before moving. If I hit one tonight, it isn't because of a blind spot. It will be because I didn't look. I take pups from central North Carolina to Myrtle Beach four nights a week. Easiest job I have ever had in 37 years in a truck.
@@Lemmon714_ I`ve never driven a truck so i don`t know exactly how bad the blind spots are in the truck but i agree, if you look you will see. Good to hear that, it`s always nice to relax a bit. 😁

1:24 i hate ones who try to road police. UK that could be classed as obstruction the highway right up to dangerous or careless driving first one mentioned that just a fine but dangerous and careless up to 9 point even possible ban and huge fine, some cases fine can be unlimited. uk highway code says use all lanes available lane merge at end to reduce que length and stops blocking junctions further back. how that trucker swerved sorry but my dash cam he would been reported . because fools like that truck driver you now see more signs to use all lanes till merge and even then you get road police doing right next to a sign saying use all lanes. im dam lucky i not had one yet, soon all wheels are in one lane im going for it they be to blame if they cause a crash or try to they charged accordingly. can not stand ones who think they are the police, not many things i ever report, those who speed up while overtaking and on country road that can be deadly so i will report everyone those and road police rest i tend to let slide but if they get caught on some dash cam trips and cop sees it then tough luck, it takes a lot for me to be angry enough to download footage but the two i mentioned that sure make me report them
