None of this matters if they can't bring down the price. Everyone wants innovation but don't like the price tag. It's similar to EVs. We all want to get a EV to save gas but the price tag on EVs are ridiculous.
The price is a considered con but the trade off is that the footwear is becoming more durable which also means it's worth it in the long run (depends on the lifetime of the shoe not just 30 days)
The way technology works though is that the price goes down as the tech becomes more accessible because competitors enter the market. It will go down over time, this is a non-issue because it is meant for early adopters.
Innovation is also about incorporating existing tecnology and develop a wide range of product , air unit + 3d printing can be considered a form of incremental innovation
They cost drastically less to manufacture at scale and can reduce the time from design to production to sale. So unless consumers absolutely reject them this is the future of footwear.
I think a combination is the future. Like adding ankle padding, a smart lacing system, maybe a sock-like inner padding like the UA Rock 7, and adding a dual density insole like UA Reign 6.
Such a very, very interesting video Elliot thanks for putting so much into it so much detail and explanation. We really enjoyed this one. Lots of love to you.❤
Video for the win, let's be honest here.. ur videos compared to others.. urs are the airmax 1000. 😅🤝 appreciate all the knowledge and time u out into the videos.
Maybe Nike should work on more durable air soles instead. Every single pair of Nike Air I've brought over the last few years at least one of the air soles have popped but usually both popped.
There’s 7 categories of 3d printing. The three listed are categories that can 3d print shoes. Theres two others that 3d print shoes binder jetting and material jetting. Under Armor had a 3d printed midsole made with one of those two.
I would so wear em! saw a zellerfeld vest guy walk into the Nike complexcon booth and won a pair right before I walked to a machine to take an L 🤣 either way I’m excited for the collab! I think they look freakin awesome and I love diff footwear that stand out
they look good, if they are as comfortable as they sound and if they can sell them for a bit lower i can see them getting popular. i want to try a pair ive never worn 3d sneakers
I just got my zellerfeld hezi’s today and I have to say they are the coolest shoes I have ever had. All of the other ones are boring now no matter the price tag.
Nike gotta a buyer over here! They’re really nice & unique in a way. The others are just okay…one shoe triggered a phobia & the other shoe was just “blah”
3D printing has been used for a decade now in mass market shoes, as you pointed out (Adidas 4D). I have a pair of the Adidas batch 000 Climacools, and have worn them around, and like them quite a bit. I think the question is “are most mass market shoes going to be made 100 % or nearly 100% through 3-D printing?” My thinking is no. Because it’s not *necessary* to fabricate an entire shoe meant for daily wear as a single seamless unit. But where it is the right tool for the job, heck yeah is will be used. Adidas is still using it for 4D midsoles and fabricating Strung uppers, ON is using Lightspray for uppers. This next comment is way out of left field, but I’m looking forward to diving fins and/or diving boots being made using 3-D printing for a fit that doesn’t chafe. Lightspray or Fabrican foot pockets for fins could be super sweet.
What's funny is that FDM printing is actually the least advanced, slowest and oldest method of 3D printing out of these 3, but it definitely has the best results.
The Adidas seem to be my favorite so far but I am not seeing a pair of 3D printed shoes that I am liking more than my foam footwear. I have Kane Revives, Hoka Slides and Ugg Tasman Sports. I’m like a diet sneakerhead and mostly only wear my “sneakerhead” stuff with my tracksuits(mostly Under Armour) so I def lean towards athleisure and the Adidas nail that look.
@@ConstantinFlattermann The amount of items in the Nike app is ridiculous. The guy knows what’s up better than me and you so a guide could be very helpful. That’s the idea
idk why youd want that air bubble if anyone had the react 270s know the air bubble made those way less comfortable because the bubble is way harder than the foam
i would love a pair of the Nikes i think the Adidas would look better in a black also. I just dont agree with the price. In time hopefully it comes down. Hell i wish i could afford a new pair period honestly im a type 1 diabetic with nerve dmg in both feet progressively getting worse my doctor recommended a few brands but they were all way out of my price range. Anyone no of a nice looking shoe not over $50-60 that is actually comfortable i really hate to be so cheap with my feet but currently not working and dealing with these health issues got ya boy down bad
Yup. Its the new model. AI. Robots. Recyclable material. 3d print. Wear out. Recycle. This concept will start here and increase in complexity and carry to most products. This will trend towards the manufacturing achieving 100% efficiency and everything we pay for now eventually being almost free of payment. Almost there now if u factor the huge amount of goods burned off to control price.
Thank you bro I’m tired people saying they look like Yeezys they don’t look like nothing he ever made they have to stop with this Kanye shit and I’m a super big fan but come on now 😭😭😭😭
but, at the end of the day, the foamrunners were created with sustainable algae and non toxic, looked better and im guessing were more comfortable and were mass produced easily so why would we need all this slow 3D printed fodder anyway 🤨
forreal maybe nike could of tried to improve the quality of thier shoes again... I started looking at chinese brands because this new stuff the fit and finish is crap

Can you check on the adidas xlg runner deluxe shoe ... adidas shoe inspired by balenciaga
