I typically don’t use the factory key as you say I use your aftermarket control key and it works just beautiful. I don’t have to make any adjustments and I don’t have to pay the top dollar price for the name on the key. Just my way at looking at it.

I just had a job yesterday replacing a missing Schlage Large format IC and they told me their maintenance man had been trying to fix it for past 3 years

Where can we get a real control key?

Only reason it wasn’t catching is because it wasnt notched far enough back. Never have an issue if you do it properly.

That looks a lot like CX5 / Best

Best is SFIC and pinning the lock is different (23). The Schlage LFIC can be rekeyed with standard Schlage or LAB Pins.

@@24hrMrLocksmith well, I was working for the company making cx5 and I’m mostly referring to the shape of the core and the use of the control key

I bought a control blank years ago for the sole purpose of making my own. I just set up my machine to cut from the tip to the shoulder and flip it over and do the bottom too (for those deep inset levers). I've never had a problem with any of the C formats or the Everest, but I could definitely see problem with Primus and it throwing off those finger pin cuts on the side.
Thanks for the Video Terry! (It is Terry isn't it? )
