    In your first video I saw, I rolled my eyes. I think it was called "So you want to be a Ranger" or something. As a former Ranger qualified Infantry Officer I thought it was just another SOF guy strutting his stuff. But I've QUICKLY come to love your channel, now my favorite, and your awesome thoughts and perspective of things. I love how you bring theology, philosophy, and thinking men as protectors of family and community all together! It is refreshing and you remind me of things I used to be better at when I was leading Soldiers physically, mentally, and spiritually. Shouldn't we be even better at it for our families?! I love your channel and please, keep up the good work!

    Totally agree that our society has turned away from books and we only want bite sized info. The only thing I would add is that it's always good to read books of alternative viewpoints also. Yes I could cram my head with only one viewpoint but if I am so certain of my stance on things, I should be able to read the alternative also and at least try to understand why people think differently from me.

Do you think i should see all trump supporters as retards? or is it more constructive to understand that many of them feel abandoned and betrayed by the system and would like to see it changed, and believe that trump being an outsider would be the best shot of bringing that change about? Great video, as always. As I read through the comments section, it becomes apparent pretty quickly that there are a number of men out there who have wanted more from the "gun community" than just "shoot 'em in the !@#%ing face!" My hope is that this keeps going for a long time, that you surround yourself with other like minded people and that the "movement" grows, that things like virtue, courage, compassion, etc. become more and more the sort of characteristics that people think of when they hear the phrase "gun community." There are a TON of guys in the "gun community" that exhibit these qualities, but very few that "get press time" or who make such things an integral part of their daily voice and message.
    I think I'm not the only one who welcomes your voice. Keep it up.

      Jim Aldridge thanks Jim. As I was reading the comments to this post I latched onto yours with laser focus. Indeed the true warrior ethos is not one of just Shootin em up. When we reflect on the historically great warriors of the past, we see a more cerebral approach to the calling of protector.
      Reflecting on my miserably weak understanding of biblical history, I recall that all the great warriors who were considered to be masters of the battlefield were also known as individuals of great intellectual curiosity; such as Joshua & David. Not only were they protectors of their people, they were also pursuers of truth & knowledge.

    • @josepherwin8709
      @josepherwin8709 6 років тому +4

      When you suggest that those of us who are possessed of the intellectual and moral ethos of the Warrior Poet are rarely seen in the media, my reflexive thought is that this is wholly intentional. My belief is that most of us who truly wish to be protectors of society, beginning with our own families, are intellectually engaged enough to seek valuable resources, like this channel. But those who are focused on creating content for the mass media have an agenda of their own and it runs counterintuitive to ours. They want as many people as possible to believe that we are all the ‘Shoot him in the face!’ type. They’re not interested in putting reasonable, rational sounding people on television or social media because we disprove the narrative of the Gun Nut. That’s why it’s important for us to share content like this as much as possible.

      LucianLacroix that is truly sad and also sadly true. I saw the same thing in the Marines, despite having a recommended reading list from the CG.
      I also see the same thing with our civilian law enforcement. Don't get me wrong, I support law enforcement and the rule of law, but I see too much emphasis placed on either brute force or political correctness and the "we hire anyone regardless of whether or not they can do the job".
      Most police don't have to have a college degree, and the pay is so low that most college graduates won't consider the profession at all.
      Training for law enforcement, in most cases, even state and federal level, is a joke. Bare minimum psychological and background screenings, police academy is a joke with standards that are lowered all the time. Most officers only shoot their duty weapons once a year on a fixed qualification course, and on and on.
      This breaks my heart and also discourages me greatly. We as a nation cannot continue to rest on the backbreaking work and dedication of generations long since past. Our future is directly proportional to how good our military and law enforcement officer's are. And things aren't looking to bright.

    Hello John, I was borned and raised in Colombia and despite I haven't lived in the US I identify myself with the culture you teach in your videos about home defense and fighting. I specially liked the relevance you always give to the ethics founded in God's word as the core values of human behavior that shape the way we act in all situations of life. If we acquire that mindset of behavior in our lives, we can be better citizens, fathers and human beings and the use of force will be always legitimate under the natural foundations of human behavior in terms of superior ethics. Thank you for sharing your insights and learning from the. Greetings from Colombia.

    The modern thinking is that intellectuals will herald a new era of peace, that letting cowards do our thinking will make us more peaceful. But there is no violence like the violence of cowards, history is replete with cowards directing fools to do the dirty work of insulating them from their callow fears.
