@@TheGrizzlyGarage Bro i'm trying to install the HKS on my Elantra sport, i'm having trouble understanding exactly where the hoses go.. So one connect to the BOV obviously.. however where does the T fitting come in place and where do each end go.. i'm connecting the BOV in replacement of the recirculating valve with an adapter made to fit in its position where the BOV connects. The diagram says cut 4-5" hose and connect from the bov to the circle 2 ended filter that came with the BOV, then the other end goes to the T fitting... but what about the other 2 ends of the T fitting? where do those go? thanks a bunch
Looking forward to the video with the comparisons on intakes. Congrats on sticking with it and getting the BOV on there. I dont know if I could stick with it and do it myself after what you were saying. Also hoping to see a video on the charge pipes and how you installed them. Keep up the nice work man.
Hope you make a follow up video on how to correctly connect the BOV to a boost/vacuum source, not to only vacuum. That compressor surge will kill your turbo.
Any updates on this ? Same thing with me😂 I got it installed already but since the diverter valve isnt blocked, Bov doesnt emit sound, purely cosmetic at the moment😂
You can plug both sides and get the same effect. Run a long intake tube down the car and install a filter pipe on the back of the turbo 90 degrees to get that loud bus slowing down flutter. But essentially. Some plastic plugs and zip ties can do the same effect.. just boost tap is all.
Oh man my friend has one of those on his boosted miata. We had to go to a shop to get them to get the c clamp on after like 2 hours of us trying. Was insane haha
Seriously mate, i did the same thing. I've check out my vacuum lines, and set to 50:50, but the sound just like a regular HKS. Your bov sounds like you block the outlet and surge back the turbo blow.
That line you cut... the section going to the "T"... is there a clamp or zip tie on that? That hose is pressurized no? even if just vacuum it could pose problems. Had a similar issue on my mk4 vacuum line to the fuel pressure reg
Sounds like quite a bit of surge my dude. Hope you have a spare IS20 laying around. If you want a vent to atmosphere, go buy DV spacer and go that route. That SSQ is going to reek havoc on your turblower.
That noise is not the BOV, its the turbo spinning in the opposite direction because the BOV is not opening all the way, so the air has no where to go but back out the intake.
That tubing cutter is for hard lines like brake lines and such. You can cut soft rubber hoses with snips, single edge razors, kindergarten scissors, your wife's kitchen knives, or your snaggle tooth if you have one.
appreciate your videos man. you bring some good content to the table. ive been considering doing the forge bov for the golf i just bought. youve helped my decision. keep it up.
Superb video, you couldn't have been more clearer! I drive a Skoda Laura (Octavia MK2) VRS with a 1.8TSI engine. Was considering the HKS or the GReddy blow off valve, which one do you think is better (I'll have to import this to India)? Thanks again mate and keep the awesome videos coming!
i like the flutter sound a lot but this costs too much do you know if there is any other way to get turbo flutter sounds with a valve or diverter on a stock mk7
Hey man ! may i start off by saying beautiful car !!! Just two questions, is the BOV safe for the car or engine itself? and the "block", does it effect anything negatively if you block the diverter valve ? Thank you your awesome !
My guy..... you messed up lol I just finished installing this and just a few pointers for anyone that get it. The snap ring is beveled. So it looks like /__________\ from the side. The beveled side goes up so it can hold. You need to put BALLS on it so unscrew the bottom flange that goes into the pipe and push down on the snap ring while applying pressure on the bov. The o ring is thick so its going to need take some balls to get it in but itll go. Not a hard install with THE RIGHT TOOLS! Angled Snap ring pliers are a must btw. All in all good vid my guy. Because of you I ended up buying one. :D
So my actual question since it looks like yours is also stock, how did it mount up? I was trying to install my hks but when I took the air box out, it's just one solid plastic like pipe.
Your BOV shouldn't be making the flutter noise. Sounds like the BOV is stuck open. You probably need to find a better vacuum source. That's what happened to my Genesis coupe....Different car but the exact same issue.
Wanted to ask, is the BOV actually functioning? It sounds like there's a lot of backpressure flutter out of the inlet housing rather than air being evacuated through the BOV. Watching SPULEN's soundclip video, it sounds completely different... Yours reminds me of those big turbo supras that run without BOVS. Sounds so sick though.
No difference in turbo lag. A DV/BOV won't make a difference in lag on the MK7. You can run either because the MK7 does not have a MAF sensor. No proven differences in performance, mostly personal preference in sound.
I believe it is not getting proper vacuum due to the way it is currently setup. Once my boost tap is installed I will be able to re-route the lines and do a better sound test!
The tubbing cutter you bought is actually for solid tubing, for "soft" oses i recommend using this: www.kingtechturbinesaustralia.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Tube-cutter.jpg I actually use these at work and they gets you a straight cut everytime!
Might just be me but I don’t think that’s working properly.. it should have a more high pitch sound .. that flutter is air coming back out the inlet of the turbo ... hks is know for its sound and that’s nowhere near how it should sound

That only applies to vehicles with a MAF which the MK7 does not have. But yes the flutter is just due to improper vacuum which will be fixed when routed through the boost tap (coming soon).
Doesn't matter for the Mk7 platform there's no maf. A lot of the big turbos now actually come for a bov for the Mk7 platform instead of reusing the stock dv.
C clamp? Lol snap ring. That tubing cutter is for hard copper or aluminum line. A charge pipe should never get hot enough to melt a silicon or rubber hose. Most definitely, already have the boost tap. Will be installing with my new gauge.
sounds sweet dude. question is it just the intake that is making the spool on the turbo sound that loud? or did you do a turbo upgrade?
I already have the HKS bov from another vehicle but cant find the adapter and diverter valve block off for the mk7 GTI.
Any updates on this ? Same thing with me😂 I got it installed already but since the diverter valve isnt blocked, Bov doesnt emit sound, purely cosmetic at the moment😂

Yeah it was no joke man, had me livid haha.
hey man ,love your vids, that tourbo sound at the end of the rev is made from your bov or something else that you put in?
Thanks for watching! It's from the BOV but should go away when routed through the boost tap.
They make large c clamp pliers go any mechanic shop in sure they'll pop it on for ya for free..I went to one when I had one and they did it for me.
What model of hks is this one ? Or did you do something else not just the bov to sound like that ? Nice car 👍🏼👌🏼

Zip tied, will get clamps later, going to be re-routing through boost tap soon!
GrizzlyTV zip ties work honestly. zip tied the line to the fuel pressure reg on the mk4 a year ago... still going
Sounds like quite a bit of surge my dude. Hope you have a spare IS20 laying around.
If you want a vent to atmosphere, go buy DV spacer and go that route. That SSQ is going to reek havoc on your turblower.
It just needs to be routed through the boost tap for proper vacuum. Flutter isn't coming from the Turbo.
Crazy!! I had the same exact issue with the c clip!! I used something different and then epoxied it in!
I was ready to burn it with fire.
That noise is not the BOV, its the turbo spinning in the opposite direction because the BOV is not opening all the way, so the air has no where to go but back out the intake.
Crazy shit
Do you just leave you diverrer valve sensor plugged into the diverter valve?
that tubing cutter is for hard steel/stainless/copper lines.

Do u need aftermarket charge pipes to be able to install the silicone that’s attached to the bov?
That compressor surge sound like with coming out the turbo inlet. Ever the close up you can hear its coming from the turbo inlet. Or am I wrong??
Coming from the BOV just needs to run vacuum from the boost tap. :)
i like the flutter sound a lot but this costs too much do you know if there is any other way to get turbo flutter sounds with a valve or diverter on a stock mk7
How come your bov sounds diff than other ppl? It sounds great. I love the sound of the air coming off the waste gate

Thanks you Christian! Absolutely no draw backs or negative effects to any system on the vehicle. It is 100% safe as long as it is installed correctly.
Did the kit come with everything you need or did you have to add extra goodies?
Yeah everything except the tools.

BTW, the tubbing cutter you purchased is for copper, just use a razor blade.
Correct! and thanks for the tip!
could you do a video with you doing a drive by... I would appreciate it, also is that whippling noise from the in take or BOV?
Sure thing! It seems to be from the BOV, going to be re-routing it through my boost tap to solve that.
Your BOV shouldn't be making the flutter noise. Sounds like the BOV is stuck open. You probably need to find a better vacuum source. That's what happened to my Genesis coupe....Different car but the exact same issue.

sounds really good bro!
Thank you!
wouldn't the ecu throw a code for the DV being blocked and not getting a reading ?
No, because it is just being redirected not necessarily blocked.
Are the charge pipes/turbo outlet pipes really needed?
I guess something is not right! In for the next segment of HKS Bov Hell.
Coming soon haha.
Wanted to ask, is the BOV actually functioning? It sounds like there's a lot of backpressure flutter out of the inlet housing rather than air being evacuated through the BOV. This was when I had the vacuum lines set up differently. Newer videos have the actual sound with Spulen's recommended setup.
Which charge pipes did you go with? Do you have a link?
Blow off sound looks different, 6:20 is that because the small part? What's the name where I buy it
Is it possible to get (stututu) like you on a gti performance 2018 dsg or work this only with manuals?
Don't you get more turbo lag going from a diverter valve to a blow off valve? Are there any performance benefits from a BOV?
No difference in turbo lag. A DV/BOV won't make a difference in lag on the MK7. You can run either because the MK7 does not have a MAF sensor. No proven differences in performance, mostly personal preference in sound.
If you could do an update on all your currents mods, changes etc etc. That would be swell!
Check out the newest build update video! More soon to come!

Nice man car sounds clean !!! Love it ! #GrizzlyGang 🐻
Ayyy thanks bud!
Your bov makes a turbo flutter but when I watch other videos with the same bov it makes a regular BOV sound. Why is this?
I believe it is not getting proper vacuum due to the way it is currently setup. Once my boost tap is installed I will be able to re-route the lines and do a better sound test!
Is this possible to install this blue off while we don’t installed any custom turbo ? (Just the factory pre-installed turbo)

Hi grizzly i love your car and your videos.... but is this hks that make the sututututu on your engine?
No, it made that sound because of the way the vacuum lines were setup.
GrizzlyTV thanks bro 💪💪💪
