EGO 650 vs Toro 605 CFM Battery Leaf Blower Comparison
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- I first purchased the Toro 605-CFM blower in July of 2020 and then a week later I bought the EGO 650 CFM battery leaf blower to compare the two properly. I've used both blowers many times over the year and a half and I thought it was time to present my comparison of the two units seeing as though these two are widely considered to be the best and most popular handheld battery leaf blowers on the market from two of the biggest brands in the business.
In my opinion I believe the EGO 650 CFM blower is the better blower of the two for a variety of reasons but I think the Toro unit is a better value unless you have very specific needs in your yard.
For insane strength however neither of these two units match Snapper's 700 CFM blower which airs nicely with their other battery equipment like their mowers, trimmers, and snow tools.

EGO units are easily found at Lowes and other retailers while Toro can be found at Home Depot, Ace, and a number of other locations.

This guy deserves more followers and views. This is a great in depth comparison
comments like that make my day, apricate the compliments!
I own the EGO XP mower with 10Ah battery, 650 cfm blower with 5Ah battery, and weed eater with carbon fiber shaft and 2.5Ah battery, so I’ve always got a fresh battery to finish any job. These units are solidly built and not lacking in any performance category. Done with gas and oil, both for storing and usage. Another excellent review!
Bro! 2:33 I thought that dog was GINORMOUS 😂😂 then I realized you had your kid using it 😂
Great video. I really like my 650 blower. Rumor has it EGO has a 12ah battery coming out. For the price of batteries you would think the tool comes with it. 🤣
I just bought the 650 CFM EGO last week and best purchase ever. The power it puts out is worth the price tag imo. I have a lot of trees and it take care of leaves with ease. Sheer air volume makes it a handy tool to do a big job in a short time. I hate raking.
Agree...I wasnt ready to pull the trigger because of the price so my wife surprised me and bought for me. Definitely worth the price.
Interesting idea of using the scale to help indicate static pressure. These blowers always talk about CFM but it is the static pressure they produce that actually moves stuff. Nice to finally see someone taking about the important stuff.
LOL I'm a new TORO fanboy, but I'm not annoyed. I always enjoy your videos, and it's clear you are giving unbiased, great advice. I made a decision to be on the TORO battery platform for lawn tools, and Milwaukee for power tools. Others may go Ego and Dewalt, or even Greenworks and Ridgid. I used very scientific data in making my choices, my high school colors were Black and red, so duh... :) :) :)
Thanks! I wish I knew Toro had interchangeable batteries (across their line) too. I went with the EGO Backpack blower as I anticipate getting their Z6 ZT and 21" self propelled. Toro has, or atleast had, a terrific rep, even 50 yrs ago.
I dont bad mouth or play fanboy other machines, especially if I never used a certain product. I have the EGO blower, its simply awesome. I know Toro makes solid products and I am grateful for it because without Toro pushing the limits EGO wouldn't be looking to improve their products.
Nice video. I'm looking forward to pick up the new Ego handheld blower that's packing 765CFM & 200MPH. I wish they would update their backpack blower however.
Great comparison! We've been wanting to try out the Toro tools.
I am quite impressed with the toro I have been using for awhile
I'm upgrading to ego 765
Also Toro makes the better snow blower so that leads me to go with that platform as well.
Not going to lie but I replaced my previous tools with Ego..having a line up of all of Ego major tools is very satisfying. It's been a very welcoming change and such a breeze to use, store and maintain. I am probably biased by now but I would honestly repeat all my Ego purchases. Can't go wrong with Ego.
Why would you lie? That’s a weird way to start that statement. It’s said people that say that tend to be liars, not about what they’re saying after that statement, but in life in general.
Just saw your older blower video that included the Greenworks. Was that the top Greenworks model or the step down?
Another great review
I see where Toro has this blower with a 4.0 ah battery for $299 and they also have a gutter cleaning kit with a shoulder strap. Maybe they were watching your channel.
I have the EGO 650. It works great, except for one thing. The balance is terrible, at least for me. I am using a 5aH battery pack in it, and it always wants to aim itself down in front at a pretty steep angle. My arm gets tired out trying to hold it a bit more parallel to the ground. I am going to look into getting a strap for it to hopefully aleviate that somewhat.
Liked. Thanks. In your past video where you compared a bunch, you said the Toro has more power than the EGO 650. Apparently that is a mistake and the EGO actually has significantly more force of air? Just reconfirming. Also, did you try the Greenworks 80 V 730CFM? Costco sells it.
Yep, total mistake made by me in my 2020 vids. I actually replaced one of them this fall that was too inaccurate from last year. I'm planning on replacing the big comparison video at some point in 2022 probably to improve the delivery and correct some of the inaccuracies. Also want to add a few others to the comparison if I can like the bigger cfm units that are out there these days.
@@TurfMechanic Thanks!!
@@TurfMechanic Check out the new EGO 765. It's unreal. Just launched.
765! That's crazy talk! Lol thanks for the tip!
I currently have the Ego 650 and it's a great blower. Have you tried the new Ryobi 730cfm blower? Any plans for a comparison video against the Ego? Thanks for the great videos!
Wow. That's a new one to me. I'll have to give it a look. I'm trying to stick with only handheld battery units so if it's a handheld then it'll be high on my priority list for comparison. Thanks for the tip!
@@TurfMechanic yes, it's their new 40v whisper series blower. I tried it out in home depot a week or 2 ago. Seemed very powerful and pretty quiet. Downside was it was really big and fairly heavy.
@@brianreichart9054 good intel thanks Brian. I'll have a look at it next time I swing through HD
EGO should put a handle on their battery packs like TORO did.
Yea that more important than you think when your carying somthing so expensive around
Is the Toro the model 51820, 51821, or 51822?
Great video. Thanks 👌
Was just looking at a review site that had the Greenworks Pro ranked #1 followed by
Snapper, Makita, and then another Greenworks model. Ego was 5th. Wondering if you have tried out any of these besides the Ego? Saw DeWalt’s model (ranked #9)at the hardware store the other day and almost bought it but the $220 price tag seemed a little steep so decided to look around first. I’m a firm believer in DeWalt stuff being about the best battery tools in general but I’m leaning toward the Greenworks due to its ranking.
Is that a cinder cone in the background? Video right, your left?
Dang. This is a great video! Lots of great information! #YardGuyApproved
Just wanna ask, do these things weigh less than gas powered?
On average I think they are similar, depends a lot of the size of battery you put in them. They are significantly more quiet though.
The tech that is in ego batteries is well worth the $ difference.
Have to go with the Toro, the Ego mowers cut like crap compared to the Toro counterpart.
I can't argue with that, I haven't used the newest EGO mower but I'm not a big fan of my "top of the line" 2020 model. I'm totally interested in the newest Toro mower coming out in early 2022 but I also want the 25" Greenworks and I'd love to try a few others. I'm weird though, not very brand loyal lol.
Never switching to battery
