Installed this into my 2021 STi . So far so good. I can also hear more turbo spool in the cabin. But with windows down I cannot. Most likely due to the remark axle back I have installed.
@@Silbaru Mufflers are not a source of restriction in a stock turbo car. Removing them isn't changing anything about how the car breathes. So no, a tune is not required.
@@yumee19 the Grimmspeed filter is just a dry-con filter that you can clean and fits in the stock filter box. It's not an upgraded intake in any real sense.
I just bought this filter but the white fins are in the outside and the red fins are in the inside - is this a manufacturer defect should I return it? or can I use it like this?
That a great question, but they are correct in that a tune will 100% not be required. So even though the airfilter breathes better than stock, you could in theory remove your stock air filter and the car would still run great(in regards to the tune anyway). When you go with an aftermarket intake, you're not just changing the fact that you're bringing in more air, which the MAF sensor is more than capable to reading that additional air and sending that info to the ECU, but the big change is in how the air flows over the MAF sensor, which the MAf sensor is not calibrated for and that will throw off the tune. So it's not necessarily how much air is coming in, it's how the sensor reads and reacts(or fails to react) to that air when going with an aftermarket intake. Let me know if that makes sense. Might be fun to make a quick video on that subject cause it's all super interesting :) Thanks, Rick
Hi I am going to get this filter. Just wonder if I can still run cobb stage1 map with this filter on my wrx 2018 or not. On cobb s website it said that stage 1 map is for stock filter and stock air intake. I am looking forward to hearing you back soon. Thank you so much guys and please take care
Yes!! In fact they have one specific for the 2019+ STI! :) www.rallysportdirect.com/part/high-flow-replacement-panel-filters/060089-grimmspeed-dry-con-performance-panel-air-filter
Don’t buy the STi brand one like I did, it won’t fit the 19-20 STi. Currently waiting to see if Rallysport will take it back as it’s listed as fitting on their website.
@@kmpaton send our cusotmer service an email. If we confirmed fitment, and it in fact won't fit we will take care of it, plus we want to know so we can correct that information on the site. Thanks! Rick
@@rallysportdirect I started the process on the 11th, just waiting to hear back. Obviously the 19-20 STi use a different filter as these Grimspeeds list a different part number.
Just installed one in my ‘19 sti. Much more turbo spool and blow off noises when the windows are up. Zero issues so far.

Really no tune needed?

I got a Remark axle-back and the Grimmspeed filter on my '19 STi, too.
@@ZakTheRipper18 Do you also have the grimspeed post maf installed?

I ordered this filter for my 17 sti and I noticed the white side is outward facing instead of the red. Is this normal?

I've got a 2019 WRX STI & ordered this filter
Nice! You're going to love it!
Thanks,

Can you use cobb cleaner to clean a grimmspeed dry filter?
Heard they let too much crap go through them which isnt good for the engine, whats your thought?
I can't decide if I want this or the HKS super hybrid drop in filter. arg!
How do u wash these plz can someone help me i wanna get one
any filter cleaner liquid would work just fine, and honestly you could just just rinse it out in the sink and would likely be just fine.
Thanks,
Rick
how fast is the company's next day delivery to Florida ?
IF you ordered next day air before 2pm(ish) MST, it would leave the same day and you could expect it the following. Thanks!
Grimspeed says you dont need a tune, does that make sense? wouldnt the A/F ration change with more air flow?

I ordered one 3 days ago and is still processing 😔
Does this affect turbo noise like most aftermarket intakes? Only asking bc I know this one does not require a tune
It’s not a intake
I added it to my 2019 STI and noticed more turbo noise coming in, almost as loud as the "sound generator" the 2015s had but a nicer sound.
Do they fit in the 2015 wrx?
Any chance it will fit in the 2019-2020 STI airbox that is the same as the 2018 RA?

I should probably get in touch with Grimmspeed or Cobb...But do you know if these would have any issues on an STi running a Stage 1 OTS tune??
