Thank you for the kind words! Agreed on this album. Strong song writing and drum wise, he sure did dig in the pocket and leaned on his strengths. Thanks for checking it out my friend!!!
Nope 🤣🤣🤣. But I feel that way too 😂😂😂. If you are on FB, there is a group dedicated to this album. Just a FB search of Motley Crue 94 and they have some great discussion. It's one of the very, very few reasons I'll get on that site (Facebook) anymore. Hope you have a great weekend!
HI Sinaka! Wow - it's been 25 years since this album was released 😲😲😲. That's incredible to me. I hope it provides a bit of a road map. I really wish there was an actual bird's eye shot or drum cam shot of him playing this start to finish but I haven't ever been able to find 94/95 drum cam footage. It's tough to find drum cam footage of Tommy in general. I sincerely appreciate and thank you for being so kind as to check it out 🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘
Hey Chris! Right there with ya. It's one of my absolute favorites as well. Just has feel for days. Every accent is tasteful and the mix Bob Rock put on that entire album is out of this world. Thank you SO much for checking it out! Working on another one from that album tonight.
🙏🙏🙏🙏 Cannot tell you how much that is appreciated. I continue to respond to all comments just because I want ppl to know how much it means to me that they watched
Hey Richard! That's awesome to hear and my friend, thank you SO much for the comment! It's great to still see comments coming in steadily on this video. I'm grateful as can be for that 🙏🙏
I think is grate that you make this video because theres no motley's video of that era where you can see and listen so cool the arragements of the drums live, thanks
What is up Francesa! This era to me was unique not just because they changed singers but it sounds like a different band musically. I really wish they would have called this something other than Motley. Maybe then there would have been a chance for some other tunes but no matter what, I love this album to this day. But to your point specifically - agreed 100% on the lack of quality footage. The videos from this are few and far between. There are some extended behind the scenes kind of shots from ppl but you are so right - there isn't much. I was fortunate enough to see them on this tour with Type O Negative and Tommy was on a mission. He put on a clinic for groove and power that night. Like you, I wish there were a few more quality videos to enjoy. Have an awesome weekend and thank you so much for watching!!!!
I have been on many forums for favorite drummers, and I have agreed on many of them as they are usually a slam dunk, but what does that say for Trey the drum slayer, he is the true time keeper of influences, he brings it full table.🤘
I went to this concert (Crue) when that album was released...got to see them in a pretty small club basically in Atlanta....like we were up front and they were literally 3-4 feet away. Hearing them with that level of pro equip and lighting in a small club was just HGLY SH$%!! It was 4th of July too....They actually did a couple acoustic tunes where they came up really close...smaller kit and all. I have played drums for a long time and Tommy was always one I emulated. My heyday was early 90's and was in high school during late 80's ...GOD I wanted to play this stuff. LOL Anyways, GREAT job on the cover...sounded pretty much dead on as I have listened to that album 100's of times. I always wanted to have someone that could mix my drums so heavy in the mix, but we never could find someone that could...granted back then it was 2" tape vs all the tools we have now LOL. I need to find a kit to layer in with my drums now to get that sound. Trey, again...killer job!
Hey Charles! Thank you so much for sharing that man! I don't remember it super clear but I caught them on this tour and I showed up as Type O Negative was on their last 3-4 songs. In reading your description, I totally forgot about the small kit at the end of the night. I saw them a month after you did in Louisville dude. The mix side - I feel you on that. This mix is one I chase to this day. I can't stress how good I think the drums sound on this entire album. I admit, even I wish they would have called this something other than Motley Crue so maybe we could have gotten at least one more album along the way. Loved Corabi's voice and Bob Rock's mix along with Tommy's playing is superb in my opinion. And I need to back up and see if I still have this on an external drive. Might be fun to release this one as an isolated drum track. Appreciate the comment so much bud.
@@TreyBDrums Yes Type O Negative was an interesting opener. Just didn't seem like it made sense to put them together, but hey...I like all kinds of music. That lead singer was HUGE in person. Yeah this little kit was great...he hit those things so hard like it owed him money LOL. I play pretty heavy like that actually. Album was great front to back. It is funny how people said it was a flop...and yeah the numbers showed that...but only at the time. I think alot of people have grown to appreciate that album as the years went by. Corabi was POWERFUL and live sounded damn near like the record. Too bad people still say it was a commercial flop. Was a great "fresh" take for them and it was needed to spice it up a bit. Bob Rock ALWAYS brings the heavy hand in his mixes...great stuff all in all. Love to know your kit sizes and what you mix through (I assume protools). Did you layer in anything on the drums, plugins or was that just a mix you got out of those killer DW's? That might be a great video to show that...unless you like to keep secrets LOL. Looking forward to seeing more stuff!
"Really wish this lineup (Crue 94) would've been a 2nd project for those guys. " I totally agree, that line up was powerful, should have named it something else. They woud be amazing today. And of course, flawless drumming. You are one great drummer.
Me too dude. The name didn't help and for what it's worth - I really thought Vince put out a damn good party rock record on his own. But I would have loved for this line up to have been able to get back together without the pressure. I mean, to me - there's enough pressure when an act is just trying to put out a solid release. I can't even imagine the pressure when it's the "next" version of Motley Crue and everything is on the line. Just a great hard rock album to me with a drum sound that I love to this day. Again bro, I can't thank you enough for all the comments!
Not only are you crushing these covers, but they're all by bands/drummers that I totally respect and love! Kudos to you. I've played along with all these tunes so many times...but I sure don't have your recording setup! FYI...MC '94 has to be my favorite album to play along with of all time. Tommy was absolutely on fire.
Man, I always like talking to folks that think Tommy's work on this album was a masterpiece. This is my favorite from him. I really do mean it. He played with such a heavy groove and his choices wee spot on. This is maybe my favorite track (from him) in their whole deal. Only thing I can say is as a MC fan, I agree that this lineup would have been better served if it were called something else. But this is a hard rock drumming "how to" manual to me. Appreciate ya!!!
@@TreyBDrums I remember waiting so long to hear what they'd do with a new singer. When Hooligan's premiered on the radio, I was sitting there with my cassette tape in my stereo to record it. I was totally blown away by ALL of it...the heaviness of the song, the vocals by John, the guitars by Mick...but most of all, the incredible drums by Tommy. I completely agree with you...this album is absolutely Tommy's masterpiece.
What up Mark? I sure, sure appreciate it. I'd still really like to re-shoot this thing and edit the video differently but it continues to get views and comments. I hate to mess with that since I don't have a big channel and every little bit helps. Again bro, thank you SO damn much for the support 🤘🤘🤘🙏🤘👊💯
It's a monster of an album and it just seems like Mr. Lee was in a zone at that point. Just deep, deep pocket playing and really tasteful (to me anyways). Would've loved to have seen how Bob Rock approached his side. Thanks so much!
What's up VT! Well, I'll take the 11 on attitude for sure but I'm thinking the skills need to be S-curved.....LOLOL! Thanks so much for checking it out and hope you stick around. Editing another track from this album tonight my friend. Thanks!
Yo William! I sure appreciate ya my friend. If you happen to dig this album, there are a number of other tracks from it on here. I just appreciate you being kind enough to watch and leave supportive words. Happy New Year!!!
Eric, Tommy has the monster hits that clearly paid him a lot more at the end of the day but this one is quite possibly my favorite track he ever did. It's just free flowing yet tight, powerful and put together so incredibly well dude. But I say that now - give me 5 minutes and I can change my mind to something else off this albums LOL! Appreciate ya buddy!
What's up Rick! Awesome sauce dude. I am beyond grateful to see comments still come in on this. Was a huge fan of this particular album and still am. Bob Rock mixed a kit like nothing I'd ever heard on this and Tommy played his ass off. Have an awesome weekend Rick!!!
Terribly sorry for the delayed reply bud. I sure appreciate that and please know how much I just appreciate you watching. I'm still tremendously grateful that folks find this cut and this cover. This entire album is just a drumming masterpiece to me. Plus the sound Bob Rock got is INCREDIBLE!!! For real, thank you so much for the kindness and the support
Yo Dominick! Man, that's way, way too kind of you. I just appreciate you being kind enough to watch man. And I really appreciate all these comments dude! I'll answer 'em all my friend
Hey Chris! Man, thanks so, SO much for checking it out. I'm grateful as can be this video keeps making the rounds. I wanna say this was the 2nd drum cover I'd done on here? I can't remember but I love the tune & love that album. Tommy's playing on the whole things to me is some of his strongest work. Appreciate it so much bud!
Bro……first, this album was one of my favorites. Best Crüe album not names Shout. Second, your cover of this is fantastic!!! I could watch this 100 times and I probably will.
Yo Daniel! Dude - first - 🙏🙏🙏🙏. I am incredibly grateful for the kind, supportive words bud. Shout took on a special place with me as well bro. But this album really landed with me as a drummer and just as a fan of blues driven rock and roll. Fantastic riffs, fantastic lyrics and the drums & drum sound are about as good as it gets for hard rock. I like it so much that if you look at this week's cover...........🤣🤣🤣🤣. Smoke the Sky - it's the SIXTH damn song I've covered off that album LOL!!!! I don't know if they're all that great cover wise but I f'n LOVE to play those tunes. Appreciate ya my friend!
Dear drumming brother! My how you have grown into your groove here. When I first heard this song I recognized how powerful the drums impacted the sound and how exacting they had to be. Anything less would be a disservice to such a fantastical piece of rock music. You have outdone yourself in recreating what is an epic drum work here. Bravo dude. You inspire me to kick it out today. Blessings; Ziggy
Yo Ziggy! Thank you so, so very much for the tremendously kind words! I've certainly been influenced by all of Tommy's work but for whatever reason, his work on this album just stands out so much to me. Or, it connected with me I should say. Plus the sound they got on this album.....OMG. It's a dream drum sound. Greatly appreciate the support and I hope you're having a great weekend!
Jesse, appreciate that my friend!!!! ❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 The '94 album is a gem to me. The drumming in particular. And I say that as a fan of Crue as we all know them. I just wish they would have called that album something else. Maybe then we could have got at least one more installment. Who knows - I'll take what I can get LOL!!! Have an awesome weekend 🤘🤘🤘
@@TreyBDrums absolutely Tommy's best drumming on that record....I opened for John Corabi one time and got to talk to him about that album and he said the same thing, Tommy's playing was just on another level, and can't go wrong when Bob Rock is producing ! Great songs, I remember reading somewhere they had another record almost written and was supposedly really heavy blues based rock n roll....but scrapped most of it when Vince came back and/or re wrote it to which became generation Swine ....

Man I like your style! I've always loved the drum part of that song, and I've always loved the Crüe! Your snare sound is just sick, perfect! Looking forward for other awesome drum covers! Cheers!
@@Drums4Freaks My bad (I thought that too after I typed it...HAHA) I was talking about just playing over the original track and having Tommy's snare sound under what I got. I absolutely LOVE his snare on Crue 94. But to the actual Bob Rock Toontrack library - it's got some good stuff on it as best I can tell.
Yo Hector! Again bro, just a very humble and even more humble THANK YOU for being kind enough to watch. I've got this one isolated and I'm considering releasing just a drums only track. To me, this is Tommy at his peak in terms of just pocket drumming. Do not get me wrong - LOVED Feelgood, Girls, Shout and Too Fast but he played this brilliantly. Anyways, sorry for the long response bro. Appreciate it so, so, so much.
Marcus dude, again just cannot tell you how appreciative I am for the far too kind words my friend. I f'n love this tune. That drum track (Tommy's) is pure art to me. He squeezes everything from the kit in this tune.
🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘 To me, it's some of Tommy's best work. His actual track on this is a thing of beauty. I wish there was an isolated file of it somewhere. Appreciate you so very much and have a great weekend!
Greatly appreciated Clint! This is one I did at the very beginning of the channel and to my surprise, it continues to get views (relatively speaking). Seriously man, I'm so grateful for the kind words and if you'd like to check out any more from the '94 album, I've got 'Til Death Do Us Part, Power To the Music and Uncle Jack. Sure appreciate you!
Greatly appreciated and I'm so incredibly glad you left a comment. I'm certainly not about to enter any competitions (LOL) but I am a gym rat so I am enjoying the hell out of your channel Dave! I'm good and injured right now so I'll most likely have yet another week to learn some new tricks. Once I can heal, I gotta incorporate these Scorpion kicks. That's the area that's destroying me. Back to this - I couldn't agree more. Tommy is a beast on this album and he's a beast beginning to end. I just wish they would have called it something other than Motley so maybe we could have got a 2nd album somewhere along the way. Appreciate you dude! 🤘🤘🤘🙏🙏🙏🙏
Tommy was a pure beast at that time. Just drenched in feel. If you haven't seen it yet, check out Bob Rock's interview where he recalls the drum track on this. It's awesome!
Trey B I have not, but I will definitely look it up! He was on fire during this time, hitting his musical stride! I’ve always admired how he was always ahead of the game and up to date on all technology that he could add to what he did in the studio and on stage.
Hey John! Greatly appreciate the kind words. I'd be about the happiest dude on the planet if I could ever achieve the overall drum sound they had on that album. Bob Rock and Tommy put on a clinic in terms or some serious, serious drum tones / sound. Just so crisp yet powerful and damn - everything had depth to it. Thanks my friend!
Yo Mike! I actually kept this one and I need to consider releasing the drum only track. I don't have it exact but I absolutely "tried" to stay real, real, real close to what Tommy did. He just put in one monster track after another on this album dude. Nothing but respect. And nothing but sincere gratitude for your support my friend.
Man, I'm SO sorry I didn't see this! Thank you so damn much for being kind enough to check it out. Sonically, it's definitely my favorite and I guess what Tommy did on this one just connected with me a bit more. I dig damn near everything he did on that album. The songs are incredibly strong in my opinion. Hope you have a great weekend! Again, my bad on the delayed response
What up my friend! Right on and thanks so much for checking it out! There are a few others from the 94 album on the channel if that does anything for ya. Again, sincere thanks for the kind words and being kind enough to watch bud.
Apparently Tommy Lee nailed this song in one take, and Bob Rock said it was the best drum track he'd heard at that point. You certainly do it justice here, glad someone's playing songs from this album. Not too many people do.
Yo Todd! DUDE - I listened to that too. I thought it was fascinating dude. If I remember correctly, Rock more or less advised him (Lee) that he'd done some good takes and he could mix and match between them to make the right track and told him to go in there, don't think and just play. Dude - I really, really, really wish Motley would release an isolated file of that specific drum track. It's as good as it gets for rock drumming (& of course I realize that's personal opinion LOL!) But, to me, that track highlighted how to make something drive, groove, cut through and somehow lay back all at once. And it's not perfection which I love. He's using a pattern scheme but he deviates from it plenty and I so wish drummers did that more. There are so many songs that have all these amazing fills and what not but every verse, you can map 'em out. Not on this one. There are subtle changes because he was in the moment just playing drums. Sorry for blabbing dude. I just loved that story and really appreciated your comment.
@@TreyBDrums It's got some interesting patterns in the verses and choruses, not a typical groove. Pity they couldn't have done a proper follow-up with John Corabi, but at least we got the album; love all the stuff before that one but it was such a great departure from the Vince years (I did get to see the Crue with Vince in 1990 but would have loved to see 'em with John). "Motley Crue" is a fantastic album, I also really enjoyed "Native Tongue" from Poison with Richie Kotzen, the Van Hagar stuff, the Brian Johnson AC/DC and the current Alice In Chains line-up; it's not a bad thing to change band's rosters here and there.
Yooo brotha havent seen any of your covers in a while ... Glad i caught this one ... That was kick ass .. you never disappoint .. I dont know what your using for gear .. but man your kit sounds soo full and heavy .. love it ... keep rock'n
YOU NAILED IT! JUST WOW MAN👌 ! I mean Fuck! This song is too good for how overlooked it is and so much fun to play i could cry! The percussion specifically the snare is just a power house driving factor for the song. Shows great discipline and technique. Aside from just how brilliantly talented john, nikki, and mick are. the percussion just takes it all the way home for this song. Couldn't get anybetter and wouldn't work any other way in my opinion. I heard this song when I was 12or13 (2005 or 6) I listen still at 30 and it's just gets me every single time. I gotta start drumming on the nearest thing to me that's gonna make noise.
If you get a chance, check out Corabi talking about how this drum track came together. I'm paraphrasing but he talks about how Bob Rock told Tommy they had 3-4 good takes and could piece together a good track and then asked him to go back in, clear his head and just play. This is a brilliant take. To me (and it's just my ears I'm talking about), this is Tommy's best work. It's his nod to John Bonham. This track is heavy, it's groovy and it's a lesson in feel. It's perfect for the song dude
So, so much appreciated my friend! This was definitely early in the vid making process so I'm just happy people have watched and I sincerely mean that. The original track from Tommy is pure freaking gold. It's one of the most tasteful but hard hitting hard rock tracks I can think of. Again, my sincere thanks!
@@TreyBDrums you're very welcome Trey. I could easily binge on your channel for a couple hours. Tons of great work on it!!! I'm a basement drummer..l... And I've tried hooligans a few times. Love the song and I can slop my way through it.... But then I came across your cover... dang man, you freaking nail it. And hey.... Along the lines of Brother Cane.... Have you ever thought doing of Jihad from DAD?
@@TreyBDrums I almost forgot. My daughter is 17 and she's picked up some of her musical taste from me. For her age, she's a really big fan of Crue. Hooligans is her favorite song from them so I showed her your cover of hooligans and she loved it! I figured after hearing me try it a few times she could appreciate someone that could actually play it right lol
@@TreyBDrums And I'm in that camp of people that thinks this album would have been huge if they wouldn't have used the name Motley Crue. I think there were so many die-hard Vince Neil fans and they turn their backs to it because they considered themselves as still being the Crue. If they would have changed the band's name, I think the loyal Vince Neil fans would have stuck around
Trey, FYI this is the fourth video that you’ve ever posted on your channel, three years ago. I pressed the ‘sort by most popular’ button and this video came up! 18,000 + views...not to bad, I would say!!! This band, Motley Crue, is another band I’m not too familiar with! I did watch some of the original on UA-cam and I got to see what a bad ass drummer Tommy Lee is....... however, I got to thinking...if Tommy Lee saw Trey Blodsoe’s drumming...he would think you were also a bad ass drummer! 👍 🤟🎼🆒😎 Trey, your videos bring great joy to my ❤️ and music helps greatly with my depression! Thank you so much and stay safe out there! 😉🌹
So sorry for the delayed response my friend. Thank you so, so very much for being kind enough to watch. I still love that album and I love this song. Hope you are doing great! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Kit sounds great. That snare...you either love it or hate it. :) I agree the 94 album with Corabi was really good, too bad they didn't continue on with him.
So sorry for the delayed response. I enhanced the hell out of the snare so as for this vid - couldn't agree more on the love it or hate it. On the Crue album, that's a dream of a drum sound to me. I absolutely love his kit sound on that. Appreciate ya!
The record company forced Neil back sadly. This is by far the best crue album. Obvisiouly brought the musicianship up a couple notches. Badass playing on your part also!
So sorry for the delayed response bud. Can't tell ya how much I appreciate you being kind enough to check it out! 🤘🤘 I've got a drum iso vid for that I have got to put on here at some point. Just one where I scaled back the cuts and kept it just a two camera shot.
OMG!!! I had that DW kit in the exact same finish (unsure about sizes). Gray Glass with gold hardware!! I had mine in 1997. 8/10/12/14/16/22. same genre too, black badge (Keller shells).
LOL! I still view a broken cymbal as a financial setback so the rollercoaster is on hold! Bob Rock was a pure boss on this. The drum tones, the attack, the clarity - it was phenomenal.
Greatly appreciated and LAWD are you a damn MONSTER Sacha!!!!! WOW did I go down the rabbit hole that is your channel 😲😲😲 And as for this, I sure do mean it when I say thanks for watching. I feel like this is a master track in terms of rock drumming. Bob Rock captured my dream drum sound and Tommy was playing in a way that resonated with me at this time. This album will never be commercially up there with Motley's older albums but drum wise, Bob Rock and Tommy Lee put on a clinic for a young drummer like me in 1994. Thank you my friend!! 👊👊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@TreyBDrums Aaaaaah, stop it, I am blushing 😊. You really nail this as well as so many other songs that you covered and that I loved watching. You have a great feel and a killer punch, sir !!! I hope you will come up with many more videos !!! cheers from Germany xx
Hey trey, love this cover man, been working on these tracks myself for awhile now. would love to see you cover power to the music and til death do us part. good work and nice set up you've got there. Keep the covers coming dude!
What's up John! Well buddy, I appreciate that and I really appreciate you being so kind as to check it out! A number of other cuts from the '94 album on the channel if you were to be interested. And I'm always reading comments on song suggestions so always feel free to throw out tunes you might wanna hear. I try to read all suggestions and often times, I'll give a number of them a try. Have a great weekend!!!
Get that fake twirl down Trey! You are an awesome drummer with some sick moves, throw in some stuff in between these slow tempos! We are still watching your content and cranking it up! Your snare sounds great too!
Love that snare, and the Entire kit ! What is that bass drum - 26 x 20 ? It's Huge ! (and making me a little jealous lol) Interesting technique, but still very good primarily using your wrists. Add in a great tone and sound of your kit and yes a very solid performance indeed to a killer Crue song. keep on Rockin' my friend! Drum=Life!
What's up Johann! The camera angle adds a solid 3 inches to that kick LOL! It's a 22'0 but the depth is just shy of square at 20'. On this cut, that kick sound is a combo of the acoustic direct mic, the outside mic, room and overheads but I absolutely have a sample in there too. I use Reaper as my DAW and they have a feature called Reagate. Great overall asset for gating but it also can be used to bring in a sample and it isn't a huge hassle to do it. If you are interested, check Reaper Mania's channel and I want to think the name of the instructional vid is Triggering using Reagate (or something like that). For real, appreciate the kind words and always feel free to drop a comment. I love talking about things like this. Have an awesome weekend!!!!
Yo Doug! I had to look to make sure I hadn't done either 🤣😂🤣. So I'm six deep. The next one (whenever I get to it) would probably be Hammered but I'm wide open to both PA and Babykills. I still stand by my belief that this is some of Tommy's best work (if not his best). Just wish they would have called it something else and could have come back and made another album or two. Appreciate ya my friend! 🤘🤘💥👊💯💪
@@TreyBDrums I agree. One of my favorite albums of all time. Band called anything except Motley Crue, for this album, it would have shot to the top of the charts. Too many fans were still raw from Vince’s departure (regardless of which story one chooses to believe). I’m glad to see someone covering the album and doing it justice!
My friend, thank YOU for checking it out and the kind words! That song has such a deep pocket. I still think that's some of Mr. Lee's best work. Thank you again!
@@TreyBDrums I was trying to pickup a few sections by rewatching this again. I can suggest listening to a song by Corrosion Of Conformity called Vote With A Bullet. Middle solo section on out has a very interesting similar pocket to it. Thanks again for posting your vids.
Very much appreciated my friend! I still don't really think of it as Crue. It's almost a different project to me, but I'm sure glad they got that album out. And Bob Rock got some MASSIVE drum sound on it. Love it to this day!
Yo my friend! Apologies in advance as I'm bouncing around multiple tunes....LOL!...which one are you talking about? If I get to it, I'll absolutely try and do it justice if possible. Thx!!!
I think Trey hit it. Have to review the video again. Difficult to see the foot work. More cameras. Naw your perfect here Trey. Got to check your other works.Z
What up? My friend, thank you for being kind enough to watch! I am still so surprised (and thankful) this continues to get comments and views. I love the album, I love this particular song, the drum mix Bob Rock got on this was out of this world and I will always say.......I wish they just would have called it something other than Motley Crue so we could have heard at least one more record 🤣🤣 (I am being serious though LOL!) Again, appreciate ya!
@@TreyBDrums It's true. I always said the same thing. New band, new name, and this would have been one of the best bands of the day. Tommy was at a whole new level. He had to be, everyone else was.
Great job, nailed that snare and big sound! Should also demonstrate that Tommy Lee was actually a very good drummer; maybe not massively technical but the best musician in that band by a long way. Much love 🤙🏻
Hey James! Thx so much for being kind enough to check it out. To me, the technical side is always admirable and even jaw dropping with so, so many different players that come to mind. But with Lee, he had an instinct to play for the strength of song from the word go. And that quality helped them separate from the pack so to speak. To me, this album highlighted his strengths. And I love his work all around.........but to my ears, this album was his way of tipping the hat to the players he loved. And they too understood the best song possible comes first. Again, thanks SO much!!!
Yo Márk! First man, thank so, SO much for checking it out! That kit is a finish called Gray Glass (I think?). Definitely a 90's special. I switched out kits so I had to run back into storage to check but the rack is 12x10 and the floors are cannons. The 15 is square and the 18 is odd as hell. It's got a listed 16 depth but I measured it out and I swear dude, it's pushing 17. So it's not square but it's not far. That bad boy rumbles. I like the kit I'm on now but I do miss that 18 sound. Bro, thanks SO damn much for asking!
😂😂😂😂. Nice! Man, don't know what they were but hopefully at least a 96 A...XD! Nah dude, that was probably American combo or something similar. Clubs kept bitching about volume so I backed the stick size down. Thanks for watching my friend!
What is happening my friend? Well, to this day I am still so incredibly thankful folks come to check out this cover. I had zero idea that I'd still be answering comments in 2022 going into '23. I figured it would be lost on here but I'm just glad there are folks who appreciate this album. I sure as fuck do. Tommy is grooving like nobody's business on this whole thing. He is (for me) at his best on this. I keep saying this is his way to pay respect to Bonham and company. Just deep pocket drumming. This track will always be at the top for me. It's not rehearsed in to the ground. It's got spontaneity, creativity and respect for the song all in one. Have an awesome night!!!!
@@TreyBDrums I watched the Motley Crue film on Netflix and so I'm listening to more of their stuff. Your cover was amazing 🔥 and thx so much for the kind words about BMTH covers :) Keep drumming, dude!
Thanks for the kind words! I guess it's a combo of things. I'm certainly sampling. I use a custom stack sample for the bigger sound and blend that with the close mic / overheads. So it's basically 3 snare sends into a bus and from there, compress the f* out of it and add some verb. Or at least I think that's what I'm doing...LOLOL!!!!
Dammn Trey,
I am once again in awe…
You are phenomenal!
Love the snare!!!! This song is from a great, but sadly WAY too overlooked album!
Thank you for the kind words! Agreed on this album. Strong song writing and drum wise, he sure did dig in the pocket and leaned on his strengths. Thanks for checking it out my friend!!!
Killin it Dude!!! Great Job
I think this is Crue's Best Album!!!
@@halbass1 I totally agree, it is their best album and Trey spanked it!!!!
Agreed had they used a different name and not Crue it would have sold. Solid album all the way through
agreed, this album, seemed a bit heavier than standard crue albums.
I'm glad I'm not the only one on Earth that likes this tune.
Nope 🤣🤣🤣. But I feel that way too 😂😂😂. If you are on FB, there is a group dedicated to this album. Just a FB search of Motley Crue 94 and they have some great discussion. It's one of the very, very few reasons I'll get on that site (Facebook) anymore. Hope you have a great weekend!
I've listened to this song for almost 30 years and always wanted to see how the drums played. Thank you.
I sincerely appreciate and thank you for being so kind as to check it out 🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘
One of my favorite drum tracks by Tommy Lee and my man, you just gave me the chills! Awesome job!
Hey Chris! Right there with ya. It's one of my absolute favorites as well. Just has feel for days. Every accent is tasteful and the mix Bob Rock put on that entire album is out of this world. Thank you SO much for checking it out! Working on another one from that album tonight.
Trey B can’t wait to hear/see it my man! Looking forward to it!
Flawless execution. The best on UA-cam by far.
🙏🙏🙏🙏 Cannot tell you how much that is appreciated. I continue to respond to all comments just because I want ppl to know how much it means to me that they watched
Fantastic job. Cannon fire sound on those drums!
great job!! kit sounds fantastic!!
何回見ても カッコイイ!
LOL
Anyways, GREAT job on the cover...sounded pretty much dead on as I have listened to that album 100's of times.
@@TreyBDrums UA-cam told me to watch this again and what can I say: AWESOME. The snare sound on this is unreal.
You nailed it! The sound is sick bro. Amazing cover!!
Hey Kevin! Thank you my friend!
Man, you are dialed in on this one - awesome job Trey !
Awesome job man! Drums sound great! My favorite crue album!!!
It's a monster of an album and it just seems like Mr. Lee was in a zone at that point. Just deep, deep pocket playing and really tasteful (to me anyways). Would've loved to have seen how Bob Rock approached his side. Thanks so much!
Been a favorite song of mine since it came out. Badass cover!
Agreed - it was a kick ass tune! I bought that record within the day after I heard it Rick. Thanks so much for checking it out!!!

Holy Obscure motley track Batman!!! Great playing here on a song I've never seen anyone cover!

@@Drums4Freaks My bad (I thought that too after I typed it...HAHA) I was talking about just playing over the original track and having Tommy's snare sound under what I got.
What can I say about that???? That was art at it's finest!!!! Awesome 👌. You rock Trey. 🪨💯🔥🔥
Marcus dude, again just cannot tell you how appreciative I am for the far too kind words my friend. I f'n love this tune. That drum track (Tommy's) is pure art to me. He squeezes everything from the kit in this tune.

Great job dude. You got the vibe and the licks were smooth and cool. Great sounding kit too. Rock on!
Phenominal playing man! Great mix as well. This album is the best Crue album, hands down! Tommy slays on this recording. Cheers!
AWESOME!!! Such a great drummer!
Drums sound amazing!! Almost note for note, very cool
Dude way bad ass- thumbs triple up!!!!!!
Yo Mike! I actually kept this one and I need to consider releasing the drum only track. I don't have it exact but I absolutely "tried" to stay real, real, real close to what Tommy did. He just put in one monster track after another on this album dude. Nothing but respect. And nothing but sincere gratitude for your support my friend.

@@TreyBDrums you are big drummer.....
Maestro !! Crack !! Grandioso !! Fenomenal !! Felicitaciones !!!💪👏👍👌👋✌
¡Muy apreciado y gracias por vernos!
@@t_bone12571 Man, you just brought up something I never thought about - I need to try a cover from the Kotzen Poison album. That thing smoked.

Great cover! Ever thought about doing Poison Apples or Babykills?
Exelente !! Pregunta... cuanto tiempo te llevo concretar este tema de montley crue y la bateria que usastes estaba amplificada? Un abrazo from spain
You drove that shit right through the barricades.. Thanks for posting.
Can you cover “Hammered” off this album? Great song!
Your drumming style reminds me of Shannon Larkin. Great job dude!
What's up my friend! I'll gladly take the comparison. LOVE his style. Thanks so much for the comment edoslacker!
@@TreyBDrums Keep on that good drumming dude! Cheers from Chile!
Awesome job man!!! Very unappreciated song because Vince didn't sing on it and that album..great song
Very much appreciated my friend! I still don't really think of it as Crue. It's almost a different project to me, but I'm sure glad they got that album out. And Bob Rock got some MASSIVE drum sound on it. Love it to this day!
Eager to see if you can nail that breakdown in the middle of the song with the double bass.
Bro! Well done!
Bravo!✌️🇮🇹👋👏🤩😉🖖🤙👌🤝🤳✍️✊👆☝️🤞👍🖐️🌞😎🤓🤜🙌👊🎶🤛
Hey! Amazing sound and drumming! Your shell set 90’ DW black/brass badge? How sizes?
Still fucking love this dude.... absolutely killer......heavy inspiration....
Nice, You are such an amazing drummer!!! 😀
Deyanira, you're the one who's amazing. Thank you! I'm running BAD late on the reply...LOL! So sorry my friend.
Geeze! What size sticks are you using? 97As? Hehehe! Great cover!
😂😂😂😂. Nice! Man, don't know what they were but hopefully at least a 96 A...XD! Nah dude, that was probably American combo or something similar. Clubs kept bitching about volume so I backed the stick size down. Thanks for watching my friend!
Awesome 😎👍🏻😊
Nailed it 🤘🙌
What is happening my friend? Have an awesome night!!!!
genial saludos des de Mexico
¡Qué pasa mi amigo! Espero que todo esté bien contigo y los tuyos y muchas gracias por mirar!
Amazing snare sound
Appreciate the kind words and DAMN dude - Shadow Moses cover is f'n awesome bro (one of many - Kingslayer is pure bad ass too!) Thanks so much Rapha!
@@TreyBDrums I watched the Motley Crue film on Netflix and so I'm listening to more of their stuff. Your cover was amazing 🔥 and thx so much for the kind words about BMTH covers :) Keep drumming, dude!
Damn this is a killer cover! How are you getting such a massive snare sound???
Thanks for the kind words! I guess it's a combo of things. I'm certainly sampling. I use a custom stack sample for the bigger sound and blend that with the close mic / overheads. So it's basically 3 snare sends into a bus and from there, compress the f* out of it and add some verb. Or at least I think that's what I'm doing...LOLOL!!!!
@@TreyBDrums haha well regardless it sounds amazing, can't wait to see what you cover next!
Wells done!!👏👏👏
My friend, thanks so much for watching and for the kind words. So greatly appreciate it!
