Thanks so much for finally answering a question I had. I had been wondering if you had to leave and restart everything if you'd started in Open World and wanted to do missions and things.
I don't understand how to save items after a mission, so I can choose them in my loadout for the next mission? I tried to put them into the dropship, since my dropship goes back up, but these items just get deleted. Or I keep some in my inventory, but it also gets deleted. How does that work? I keep looking beginner tips videos, but none of them really explains that.
basic gear from planet can't go back what you have to do is basically snag the workshop item in the space station it can go down then come back up then get repaired at the station the workshop gear starts off around iron pickaxe and ones like the neves pickaxe have some unique abilities completely unique to items
Pro tip: start the first mission on hard and hardcore as soon as you n land return to station boom mission complete this will give you an easy source of early game money but really only useful for early game
Question - I started with Outpost just to see how the basic game is played without going into missions blind. After about 100 hrs or so, I have so far achieved level 25 and have many stats in the Tiers 1, 2, 3, Talents, etc. So I was wondering do you lose anything if and when I decide to go into Missions? In other words, Do I start all over again or does my progress carry over? If I die on a mission, You mentions you lose all equipment, is that all or do you lose everything you completed on that character?
so first off outpost is massively reduced xp compared to open world / missions like normally 10-15 hours nets lvl 25 so the way missions work is you drop down if you FAIL the mission you lose any workshop gear but in like 800 hours I've failed 0 you just leave if your close to timer - secondly you don't make new characters in fact you can be both in a outpost and mission and open world same time you just have load outs that are locked to that world - so if I bring down my radar into a mission I need a second to also bring it down into a outpost but really unless you slap hardcore / hard mode on same time which limits number of revives you should be fine - also some missions unlock new craftable items like poison weapons from cave worm parts or target dummys
@@ForgeTecGaming Thank You, guess I should have started in Missions, lol. Oh well, at least I learnt a few things first. It's all good. This game is like a merging of Ark (minus Dino's) and Valheim. It's fun for me as I like to play solo. Just take my time, no rushing. Being 65, my rushing days are pretty much over at this point lol. Thanks again.
