AI also generated the title for this video - why not go all out when you are at it? 🤪

    Great video!
The real drawback of AI giving instructions is that it’s not showing anything. No photos, no video of how each step looks like. I’m a beginner dressmaker and with those instructions alone I wouldn’t have been able to do it - far too many little bits left out.
Your job is safe for a while yet! 😄

This is such a fun concept for a video! The sizing referred to in step 2 isn’t about the size of the garment. It’s the sizing that is applied to the fabric to make the fiber stronger during weaving. At least I think that’s why it’s used. (A.I. could probably explain it to us.) It’s a good idea to wash it out because it can affect the drape and hand of your fabric.

@@paigekennedy5043 ah, thank you for explaining that! 😌 I know what you are referring to now, but I didn’t learn weaving in English so without AI explaining it it completely flew over my head. 😅

Isn't stay-stitching and under stitching the same thing? Your dress is cute on you. However, I like my dresses much longer; and I have to have a higher neck line. I'm 76 years old and I'm trying to hide what time has changed. You are young and beautiful.

@@arvettadelashmit9337 😌❤️ No, stay and understitching is actually not the same! I used to think that though..
Stay-stitching is used to stabilize necklines and curves to prevent the fibers from stretching in the construction process.
Understitching is used as a finishing technique to prevent fabric on the fold e.g. a neckline facing or a waistband from flipping over to the right side and lay flat. You could achieve a similar result with a top/edge stitch too, but then it’s visible on the right side unlike understitching that creates no visible seam. Hope that helps! 😊
