My 3ds is exclusively a pokemon machine - installed every single game on that thing. The only thing I find missing is a way to emulate link cable trade/battle on gen 3 games.
mario too, so many mario gems from snes nes and gba and the 3d world, luigis mansion even tho thats its own line, the mario and luigi line is my favorite line probably ever, bowsers inside story og ds version is phenomenal
Have you tried running BOTW on PC with CEMU? Amazing experience. 4k support, as many FPS as you can muster, motion controls, all of it. Basically blows away the BOTW experience on any current switch console, even docked with a nice TV.
It`s crazy how much work the 3ds Homebrew Scene still puts in the Console. Porting games, making mods, keeping Online Multiplayer alive, just making the best out of the 3ds family it could ever be. Still one of my favorite Consoles, especially to take on a trip. Long live the 3ds
I was at a second hand shop i heard a Guy say He sold his New 3DS XL there and got $100. He said he regrets it cause the shop did minor repairs to it and have on sale for $300. What an idiot.
I feel this. I've been trying to track down an XL model (OG or "New") since March! But the prices are crazy high, so many listings online putting some pretty scratched OG models for over $300!!
@@andiexmushroom8915 the new 3ds has a built in SAMBA share which I think is nice since it natively connects to a Windows PC. I haven't tried the FTP, but assuming they are both pretty slow transfer speeds so I'd go with the SAMBA
@@willia_music the ftp works just great for me since i have an old 3ds, as You mentioned, the speed is not the Best but it's way more convenient for me bc i don't have any way to connect the micro sd to My pc and in addition i just love the idea of transfering files without extracting anything. (Sorry for my por english skills, lol)
The new 3ds has a built in way to access the sd card without removing the back plate. I've used it for years on mine with the exception of when I had first installed a larger micro sd card at one point. Go into settings and data management and there's a button there that lets you do what FTPD does without any homebrew.
I've been running CFW for a while now and it's so amazing. I really like people are still actively developing stuff for the 3DS. It's the best console out there hands down. And with emulation this "beast" can play thousands of games in your pocket. What i did not hear in the video and people should be aware of is Streetpass. PLEASE KEEP STREETPASS ALIVE PEOPLE!!!
I went to a video game convention in Wisconsin a few months ago and got like 50 people on street pass, first time i ever used it. Tried going other places with it on, grocery shopping, driving to work, at work, etc but can’t really see many people walking around with a ds/3ds in sleep mode other then a video game convention or swap meet
Was cleaning my house yesterday in preparation to move and I found my Zelda edition 3DS and my Vita. They have never been modified and it was completely by chance that I saw your video.
Both are absolutely incredible when modded. There's even a specific app on the Vita that grants access to every single title released and it's DLC, on top of PSP games and their DLC, and even PS1 games. There's infinitely more you can do as well!

I LOVE my 3DS since it released, my 3DS XL broke then I bought a second handed and the buttons werent working properly, then I fixed it and I'm HAPPY NOW , I LOVE 3DS GAMES, Project X Zone, New Art Academy, Mario 3D Land and so many more, I'm crazy about Bravely Default too, I really love playing in 3d and the portability
Only bad thing about the sm64 port is that the camera doesn’t move automatically, like when there was a cutscene if Mario entering the castle for the first time I saw the outside of the castle, and not Mario in the castle, and sometimes in important moments it doesn’t move automatically too, without this problem it’d be perfect
Online going down recently is a pretty big deal though. Pretendo is only able to cover a few of the popular games at the moment, but games like Fire Emblem Fates are honestly a lot less fun without online.
You forgot to mention IPS screens! They can make the value of your New 3ds go up substantially for instance I have a video with my hyrule edition New 3ds sadly I didn’t know about this when I bought it and the screens are TN these only go for around $320 while dual IPS ones go for $450+!! Crazy how expensive they can get it’s pretty much like comparing an OLED switch to a predecessor switch anyways great video!
but the only downside i see with a 2ds. is it don't have an option to close, so the screens are more vulnerable to break. because they lack that closure protection. mine did twice and had to get it repaired both times.
To me, the new 3DS is the perfect handheld form factor, it just makes so much sense and is so aesthetic. I wish Nintendo would make a new console in this form factor, but with upgrades we've seen on the switch.

About the preinstalled games. It only takes that long because it has to convert the cia file into a game file you can actually play. Meaning, if you already have 1 device with that many games installed, you can simply copy and paste the entire sd card to another and put it into a different console, if it's modded I think. I got a new sd card a few days ago and simply copy pasted everything and it worked fine. I'm just not sure if the homebrewing is saved on the sd card or some type of seperate storage on the motherboard
Omfg the Virtual Boy in 3D on the console is surreal. I've never seen graphics leap off the screen like that. It is something you have to see for yourself. The emulator is named Red Viper.

I modded my og midnight purple 3ds last year and later on brought a new galaxy 3ds xl and cloned my og data on there. I always wanted one and I brought it on Aliexpress. I don't blame you for buying something you always wanted and having the luck to find it when it's rare or super expensive.
The wireless file transfer, is also useful like me. Someone who has a controller like grip on their 3DS (3DS XL for me), that can be a pain to take off
Back when I was in College in 2020 I had a small side hustle of getting broken 3DS on marketplace, fixing and flipping them for some extra cash. The thing I regret the most was selling my original Limited edition Gold Legend of Zelda 3DSXL and my Cobalt Blue Luigis mansion edition because I got a NEW 3DSXL and didnt think I needed them anymore. In 2020 it was pretty common to see old 3DS on marketplace for 50-100$ depending on condition and size.
4:17 - Not an expert nor did I try anything like this but if I had to take a guess, you'd have to convert the save file type from the one Mugen 64 reads to one that the 3DS can read. Normally this is done using a tool developed by other people in the community but I doubt one exists for this specific case

I was very excited to mod my switch last year and have been using it ever since and now I decided to order a New 3DS XL Metallic for $250. It comes with 32gb card, stylus, charger and it's a very good condition one. Some may say that's steep but I personally believe it will touch $300 for regular New 3DS XL models for good condition and not almost mint very good ones. I also understand you can emulate DS 3DS in a way on the Switch but it does not hit the same at alll. Can't wait to mod mine when it comes this week. Don't think prices will go down for New 3DS XLs, New 3DS models at least. Even the OG 3DS are up lol

The big drawback to the 3DS these days is how much it'll probably cost to get one. Especially one of the New models. Make sure to take great care of yours if you have one because you really won't want to have to buy a replacement if you can help it lol

My dad got me the majoras mask edition when the new 3ds dropped, and I wasn't there to get the package. It was regoin locked, and my dad thought that meant I couldn't use the console and sent it back without asking. So i got screwed out of that
The restored majoras mask 3ds the guy sells in the page are just reshell black 3ds The repro shells always make the same mistake xD But, if you like the design go for it! But is kinda annoyng that they dont clarify those 3ds Majora's mask shells are not original but chinise repros.

I was set to get one of those special editions New 3DS XL ! Then fucking Micromania dropped the ball on my preorder and didn't have one left... That was the third time this happened with them (with the second being Borderlands 2 preorder with the real loot chest which was compensated for by a refund of the price excess and an offered season pass and shirt, still unhappy). Haven't preordered a single thing from them since then. But hey, than 3DS is still kicking and the amount of thing available these days is really cool and crazy.

Couple days ago, some parents of a girl, who barely touched her metallic black new 3ds xl, sold it for only 140€ to me. It came with 2 games, one being Pokemon. Also with original nintendo charger and original package. Looks literally bramd new out of package! I was just couple days into looking for a new 3ds xl, and after sering how high these prices are, I instantly had to go and buy it at the same day I saw the console on sale.
Bro, I have a Mod 3ds and my sister borrowed it and lost the SD card and when I put a new one the console screams light up black and doesn't change and if I take the sd out the light goes green and and shut down right after
you’ll probably have to remod your 3DS as your new SD card will probs be blank, follow the guide there’s a specific section for 3DS that are already modded and need remodding
if you figure it out take a copy of the sd card and keep it on your computer. I have two copies of the sd card. It might not always be up to date in case something does happen to my sd card, but recovery is easy at least
I do have my og 3ds xl jail broken, actually playing emerald on it now. Though.. the cost of a used PS5 for one of these is insane, lol. Why not just get the retroid pocket 5 that can emulate even switch games let alone everything else below that with ease for 220 bucks or if you're on a tight budget then get one of the 50 dollar hand helds like the abernic rg35xx H or even just a retroid pocket 3+ at 100 if one can afford it. That can emulate PS2 and GameCube games amongst others with ease.

Never diss the 2ds ever, brotha! It don't have hinges, which makes it infinitely more convenient than the regular 3ds! Facts!

My dad got me the majoras mask edition when the new 3ds dropped, and I wasn't there to get the package. It was regoin locked, and my dad thought that meant I couldn't use the console and sent it back without asking. So i got screwed out of that

I bought the original, they're all scruffed up, the paint is very thin. These are way better.
@@TommyHill-g8o Certainly the original Nintendo paint stinks, I managed to keep my 3DS without the paint peeling off, always using a cover that protects it from the sweat of my hands and the environment, but I understand that the paint should have been better from the beginning

I was set to get one of those special editions New 3DS XL ! Then fucking Micromania dropped the ball on my preorder and didn't have one left... That was the third time this happened with them (with the second being Borderlands 2 preorder with the real loot chest which was compensated for by a refund of the price excess and an offered season pass and shirt, still unhappy). Haven't preordered a single thing from them since then.
But hey, than 3DS is still kicking and the amount of thing available these days is really cool and crazy.

Bro, I have a Mod 3ds and my sister borrowed it and lost the SD card and when I put a new one the console screams light up black and doesn't change and if I take the sd out the light goes green and and shut down right after
you’ll probably have to remod your 3DS as your new SD card will probs be blank, follow the guide there’s a specific section for 3DS that are already modded and need remodding
if you figure it out take a copy of the sd card and keep it on your computer. I have two copies of the sd card. It might not always be up to date in case something does happen to my sd card, but recovery is easy at least

The two monitor concept is just genius. I hope it comes back one day. DS is genius. The only thing I miss is graphics.
I do have my og 3ds xl jail broken, actually playing emerald on it now.
Though.. the cost of a used PS5 for one of these is insane, lol. Why not just get the retroid pocket 5 that can emulate even switch games let alone everything else below that with ease for 220 bucks or if you're on a tight budget then get one of the 50 dollar hand helds like the abernic rg35xx H or even just a retroid pocket 3+ at 100 if one can afford it. That can emulate PS2 and GameCube games amongst others with ease.
still play my n3dsXl every day, it can do up to psx. I hope it never breaks.
